We were excited about finding wormwood and became quickly disappointed even before we stepped inside the restaurant. No parking anywhere. We drove around almost 20 minutes trying to find parking. We ended up parking almost 1/2 mile away and walked to the restaurant. Note a great start. The server was nice and efficient and explained how to taste the fight of absinthe. That part was great. It took quite a while after we ordered to get the food which was in super tiny portions with super high prices. While the food itself was excellent. The ambiance was loud and the restaurant needed updating. Our table was missing pieces of wood. White tablecloth wood have elevated the look tremendously. For us it's a one and done. We spend almost $300 on a tiny plate of pasta, a salad and dessert. We arrived disappointed and left feeling the same.

The Carpe Diem was good but service seemed a bit slow. Though, I'm told this is the norm for meals in France/Spain, etc. I wish we could have had more steak. For $90/person, I would expect a full steak rather than just half. The mushroom ravioli stuff was really good but we didn't care for the beet salad. Neither of us is is big on beets but they weren't bad per se but the greens were incredibly bitter. We really did not like the beet salad.

First timers. The place has a great chill vibe. Cocktails are unique and delicious. The house bread and butter is ridiculously good. My wife had an amazing ravioli and I had the steak, both were incredibly delicious. Ended the evening with an apple tart.

What a great dining and overall experience. This is one of my new favorite restaurants in San Diego. We had the 3 course tasting menu and everyone selected something different. Each plate was perfect and innovative. We could have not been happier with the service and the greatly prepared dishes. You can tell when you walk in and see in the open kitchen how many people are dedicated to prepare this amazing dishes. Truly a very special dining experience.
