We celebrated our daughter’s birthday. Service was absolutely outstanding.
The service and food at Woodberry is amazing. Such a great experience. Only thing I would have changed was that they had some outdoor portable heaters for the colder weather.
It was a wonderful evening... Great food, great ambience, great service.
Yet another exceptional experience! This is my third time to Woodberry Kitchen during the pandemic and, each time I visit, I feel like the world's problems disappear. Sure, they are mindful of safety and their protocols seem effective. But, more to the point, they interact in such a friendly and diner-focused way, that you feel like you're back in a time that's saner, and where people actually care about each other. Also, the food is - without exception - just the best.
From the moment we walked in we felt very relaxed and welcomed. I think the woman who greeted us was one of the managers. she took us to our table and explained the COVID precautions. We we were so happy that the precautions were so thorough - it is obvious they put a lot of thought into this. The outdoor seating was lovely, such a nice place to be. Our server was wonderful and the food was out of this world. What a spectacular evening we had!
Incredible ambience with outdoor set up, fantastic service and of course great food. Expensive but worth it.
Always delivers the best service and food. We love coming back here!
Okay, I’ve only been here twice, so take this for what it’s worth. My first visit was a couple years ago, before COVID, and it was fantastic. Food was incredible and it was busy, fun, and quite the experience.
Two nights ago however, on my subsequent and highly anticipated visit, I was completely disillusioned. First, the food. The menu was extremely limited AND they charge you 5% of the total bill to reprint it. The highly recommended cheese dip and was so heavy on the onion I couldn’t stomach more than a few bites. Equally unpalatable was the cauliflower dip. While the toast and veges that came with each respective dish were very tasty, the dips themselves were not savory in the least.
On to the main course. I was very excited for the chicken dish (I had a butterflied chicken breast my first time) and sounded so yummy when described by the waiter. It was dry, flavorless, and I couldn’t even manage to finish eating it. Very unlike me, as I usually clean my plate.
Lastly, the overall setting and experience. Yes, I realize there’s a pandemic on, and yes we’re all trying to be safe, but this was over the top. It’s outdoor seating, plenty of space between tables, but they still asked that you wear a mask when the waiter stopped by your table. On top of that, they had a cool little duo band that started to play during dinner (far removed from everyone) and the singer was also masked! You could barely hear them! So 5 stars for ambience and two thumbs down for ruining it.
I’m not saying you shouldn’t use caution and keep things clean, but there’s living, and then there’s living in a bubble. I know which one I prefer.
For $160 check for two, I will NOT be returning here. I doubt they’ll suffer. Plenty of people out there who care more about fads and “farm to table” than the taste of a well prepared meal.
Nancy was A-Ma-Zing! She was very attentive & made our anniversary even better AND she did not even know it was our anniversary!
They've done a really good job planning for a safe outdoor dining experience. We had an amazing crab cake and mushrooms from the wok. There was live music and a fire. The service was perfect. Love this place.
OMG everything was so amazing! It’s been awhile since I had been, my husband had never been so thought it was perfect for our anniversary.
The food was so tasty, our server was warm and knowledgeable. The staff was good about wearing mask, practice social distancing...the fire pit and music was perfect. We don’t spend $187 for dinner well ever😀. But we felt it was all worth it...will be over the holidays for sure. Thanks again for a wonderful evening! LaWanda & Duke
As always we had a great experience and exceptional food. They have mastered the art of dining during a pandemic and made the experience comfortable and enjoyable.
We haven't been to a restaurant since March & were apprehensive about an on-site meal. We almost cancelled last minute to do carryout. They have well thought out their risk mitigation, spacing, heating, & even are protecting their workers (which protects us). Thank you WBK from long time customers = )
Despite operating under social distancing, once again Woodberry Kitchen excelled in every category. Wonderful dining experience in comfortable outdoor setting.
Excellent food. Great service. Definitely one to try.
Great dinner at Woodberry Kitchen ! COVID-safe measures in place along with incredible food and cocktails. A+ !
WK just gets in right, even with the Covid restrictions observed!
By far the best restaurant in Baltimore, pre-pandemic but especially during these strange times. The Woodberry team has figured out how to create a setting and experience that makes you feel like not all normalcy and beauty has been lost this year. And they’ve done it while adhering to the highest standards of safety. As vegan diners, they also went above and beyond to direct us through the plethora of options for us, including saving freshly baked chocolate chip cookies for us to have a sweet finish. Much love for this place!
Took my girlfriend here for birthday brunch, food was delicious as always and the patio area they have set up for dining is gorgeous.
Excellent service, delicious food, good covid precautions, and a great touch with live music
Super romantic outdoor seating on the patio, farm to table meals, and exceptional staff.
Great restaurant. Menu rather limited. Staff was EXCELLENT! Entree portion somewhat limited.
Great service, amazing food, wonderful atmosphere!
Good times listening to Caleb Stine by the fire
We love this place! The way they have come up with great ways to be Covid safe is incredible. The food was amazing! And when you finish eating, the fire pit is the perfect place to cozy up with a nice cocktail.
We love Woodberry. Truly a unique place we always enjoy.
Expensive but worth it
Outdoor ambiance was awesome; servers followed COVID safety precautions. Love the food selection — my crab cake was delicious! I’m not a fan of vinegar though and my potatoes were too vinegary for my liking. Everything else was great - butter corn pudding was to die for!
One of the most superb dining experiences we’ve had in a while!
Interesting choices and good variety of foods. The small plates were particularly imaginative, and the outside, socially distanced dining was handled well--nice patio with firepit--no asphalt. One thought--most items are either very rich or very sweet or both. Accordingly, serving some plain bread to offset part of the richness might be desirable.
Only disappointment: we requested black coffee to accompany the dessert, as is our custom. To our great surprise we were served COLD/ iced coffee in the evening. Neither of us like iced coffee and were unable to order hot coffee as a replacement.
Too many woodburning stoves with too much smoke. The tents and smoke pretty much ruined the ambience of sitting outside. The menu options were unnecessarily complicated. During this time of limited staff and ingredients, just keep it simple with food that will fill people up. The food and drinks we had were good but we just left early because we spent 200$ and were still super hungry and sick of the smoke. We went home, made dinner, and washed our clothes because they stunk like smoke.
Great job making us feel special on our anniversary.
I took my girlfriend here for a lovely dinner and all was well until she got sick instantly from a peanut allergy. The menu failed to state that any food contained peanuts. We ordered two items that no one would even think about having peanuts as the ingredients, however they both had peanuts. I think for a nice venue such as this place, they should list the foods that contain allergens especially for peanuts. The manager also didn’t know how to handle the situation, and we were quite shocked.
Miss the whole menu! Wasn’t a lot of food choices
Dined there Sunday for brunch, outdoor seating available only at this time which was fine for me since I have no interest in dining indoors at this time. Servers were friendly and explained contact less payment. Brunch options were many, it starts with a refreshing watermelon juice , bread/ muffin tray and ends with fruit and sorbet. I had the crab cakes eggs . Benedict. Delish!!
A safe and comforting experience. I thought I was going to get a "compromised" version of the Woodberry experience eating outdoors but it was even better than eating in the dining room. The smell of smoke from the communal fire, everyone wearing masks and being respectful, staff being friendly but also giving diners their space - the whole experience was flawless. As was the food. Anthony Bourdain repeatedly states the hallmark of a good resto is how good their chicken is: the cast iron chicken was flawless. As was the wine we had with it. And the bread. And the corn basil soup. The only downside (and I've experienced this many times with Woodberry), is that our reservation was for 9:45 and we got seated at 10:15 PM. Minor downside to an overwhelmingly wonderful experience.
Food was fantastic as always.
Service was friendly and attentive even with a wedding reception that night.
Appreciate the efforts staff took to make us feel comfortable and safe.
I'm blown away by how great an experience we had for Sunday brunch. Fantastic food, great live music, and they went above and beyond to make us feel safe during Covid. My only suggestion is that they add the information about the pre fixe menu for brunch to the website, since it's a bit pricey without knowing that that was our only option. If you want a bit of a more indulgent brunch, though, we had a fantastic experience!
