Their team has done such a beautiful job of outdoor dining! We loved it.
The service was great and so was the food. We were very cold throughout our stay. Install more heaters ‘hon!
Always love this restaurant!! Especially happy to support them right now.
My wife and I have always been a fan of Woodberry Kitchen. This was our first experience during COVID, and must say that the management and staff have accounted for so many things that we hope that they keep once things return to 'normal' including the mobile payment option.
Food was absolutely amazing, as always, and fresh. The menu had great options for all types of folk and presentation was on-point. Staff we accommodating, attentive and overall excellent. We cannot wait to come back and dine!
My wife and I found the Woodberry neighborhood and restaurant patio to present two interesting settings. A jazz guitarist played standards and we were served under a tent. Our table was distanced from others and the servers wore masks. Our waitress was attentive and helpful. The brunch menu was quite interesting and the food was well-prepared and it presented a notable variety of tastes and textures. Despite its price, this was a delightful meal and we will try dinner when we can.
We drove here from Washington DC for breakfast. The wood fire and live music made for a great outdoor ambiance. The food and service never lets us down. Definitely recommend.
COVID times are tough and we were grateful that Woodberry Kitchen had onsite seating. Food tasted amazing as always and we were onboard with the changes implemented to help reduce spreading infection.
Overall, I felt the pricing didn't quite match the experience I have come to know over the past 9 years and I felt like I didn't quite get what I paid for. Admittedly, the experience is still wonderful and the food delightful, but I might like to see the cost of a meal line up better with changes to the experience.
I also realize this is a "privileged" comment and overall I will still look forward to my next experience.
Woodberry, long one of my favorite restaurants in Baltimore (and even in the whole Baltimore/DC region), has a great setup for COVID -- outdoor tents on the big patio, big fire pit, outdoor bar, great location/setting. They follow strict COVID protocols (and clever ones, too, like putting up a flag when you need service). But I also really appreciate paper menus -- single-use paper menus pose minimal transmission risk nor environmental impact, yet they add so much more ambience to a nice dining experience than having to use one's phone (QR codes and all that). Kudos to paper menus!
I've eaten dinner here twice during the pandemic (late summer and Fall), and I will say the food hasn't blown me away as much as it has in the past. I can't exactly say why. The menu still rotates and is seasonal, with lots of veggies. It might be that the selection of entrees is more limited due to COVID and I've found less interesting things to order (I'm not sure), and that's understandable. But the food is still of high quality, and I'll continue to look forward to coming here.
Last thing: as nice as Woodberry Kitchen is, it -- as well as Spike Gjerde's now-closed Parts & Labor -- is refreshingly unpretentious. It fits Baltimore in that way. After having patronized WK for years, I was taken aback when Gjerde's A Rake's Progress (I think closed due to pandemic) opened in DC's The Line Hotel. Every entree item there was accompanied by a 3 minute speech, the prices were much higher, and it was just stuffier (it fit DC in that way). WK hits the quality without the uptightness.
Went here for my husbands bday with some close friends. We loved how the restaurant kept safety in mind for the customers as well as their employees. The ambience was very nice and relaxed and we had our own small private area under a tent. No one was close to each other and everyone wore masks and gloves appropriately. The staff was friendly and helpful. They have a system for coming to the table and it’s wonderful. The food was amazing as well. Everything from the oysters to the cheese spreads with toast and my favorite was the oyster pancake. Everyone at the table loved the cast iron chicken. So much so 4 out of the 5 of us had it. The restaurant is amazing from calling to make the reservation and being directed to open table to modification by Sam and then the amazing staff at the restaurant. Thank you!
We were very impressed with the outdoor dining set up at the Restaurant. Very quaint and definitely felt "safe". The staff all went above and beyond ... food was good.... all locally sourced. It was our first time experiencing the Woodberry and it did not disappoint.
Drove from DC just to eat here. My favorite restaurant in America. Scouts honor.
You guys Should offer more heaters if you’re not offering indoor seatings. There were NO heaters.
Great service
Beautiful, good food and good service
Despite the marginal weather, the experience was excellent. F00d and service are the best!
Great set-up for outdoor dining, even on a cool, rainy day. Food was amazing and enjoyed the guitar music.
Nancy was our server and she was wonderful. The food was different and great. We always love it here!
We celebrated our daughter’s birthday. Service was absolutely outstanding.
The service and food at Woodberry is amazing. Such a great experience. Only thing I would have changed was that they had some outdoor portable heaters for the colder weather.
It was a wonderful evening... Great food, great ambience, great service.
Yet another exceptional experience! This is my third time to Woodberry Kitchen during the pandemic and, each time I visit, I feel like the world's problems disappear. Sure, they are mindful of safety and their protocols seem effective. But, more to the point, they interact in such a friendly and diner-focused way, that you feel like you're back in a time that's saner, and where people actually care about each other. Also, the food is - without exception - just the best.
From the moment we walked in we felt very relaxed and welcomed. I think the woman who greeted us was one of the managers. she took us to our table and explained the COVID precautions. We we were so happy that the precautions were so thorough - it is obvious they put a lot of thought into this. The outdoor seating was lovely, such a nice place to be. Our server was wonderful and the food was out of this world. What a spectacular evening we had!
Incredible ambience with outdoor set up, fantastic service and of course great food. Expensive but worth it.
Always delivers the best service and food. We love coming back here!
Okay, I’ve only been here twice, so take this for what it’s worth. My first visit was a couple years ago, before COVID, and it was fantastic. Food was incredible and it was busy, fun, and quite the experience.
Two nights ago however, on my subsequent and highly anticipated visit, I was completely disillusioned. First, the food. The menu was extremely limited AND they charge you 5% of the total bill to reprint it. The highly recommended cheese dip and was so heavy on the onion I couldn’t stomach more than a few bites. Equally unpalatable was the cauliflower dip. While the toast and veges that came with each respective dish were very tasty, the dips themselves were not savory in the least.
On to the main course. I was very excited for the chicken dish (I had a butterflied chicken breast my first time) and sounded so yummy when described by the waiter. It was dry, flavorless, and I couldn’t even manage to finish eating it. Very unlike me, as I usually clean my plate.
Lastly, the overall setting and experience. Yes, I realize there’s a pandemic on, and yes we’re all trying to be safe, but this was over the top. It’s outdoor seating, plenty of space between tables, but they still asked that you wear a mask when the waiter stopped by your table. On top of that, they had a cool little duo band that started to play during dinner (far removed from everyone) and the singer was also masked! You could barely hear them! So 5 stars for ambience and two thumbs down for ruining it.
I’m not saying you shouldn’t use caution and keep things clean, but there’s living, and then there’s living in a bubble. I know which one I prefer.
For $160 check for two, I will NOT be returning here. I doubt they’ll suffer. Plenty of people out there who care more about fads and “farm to table” than the taste of a well prepared meal.
Nancy was A-Ma-Zing! She was very attentive & made our anniversary even better AND she did not even know it was our anniversary!
They've done a really good job planning for a safe outdoor dining experience. We had an amazing crab cake and mushrooms from the wok. There was live music and a fire. The service was perfect. Love this place.
OMG everything was so amazing! It’s been awhile since I had been, my husband had never been so thought it was perfect for our anniversary.
The food was so tasty, our server was warm and knowledgeable. The staff was good about wearing mask, practice social distancing...the fire pit and music was perfect. We don’t spend $187 for dinner well ever😀. But we felt it was all worth it...will be over the holidays for sure. Thanks again for a wonderful evening! LaWanda & Duke
As always we had a great experience and exceptional food. They have mastered the art of dining during a pandemic and made the experience comfortable and enjoyable.
We haven't been to a restaurant since March & were apprehensive about an on-site meal. We almost cancelled last minute to do carryout. They have well thought out their risk mitigation, spacing, heating, & even are protecting their workers (which protects us). Thank you WBK from long time customers = )
Despite operating under social distancing, once again Woodberry Kitchen excelled in every category. Wonderful dining experience in comfortable outdoor setting.
Excellent food. Great service. Definitely one to try.
Great dinner at Woodberry Kitchen ! COVID-safe measures in place along with incredible food and cocktails. A+ !
WK just gets in right, even with the Covid restrictions observed!
By far the best restaurant in Baltimore, pre-pandemic but especially during these strange times. The Woodberry team has figured out how to create a setting and experience that makes you feel like not all normalcy and beauty has been lost this year. And they’ve done it while adhering to the highest standards of safety. As vegan diners, they also went above and beyond to direct us through the plethora of options for us, including saving freshly baked chocolate chip cookies for us to have a sweet finish. Much love for this place!
Excellent brunch!!!
Took my girlfriend here for birthday brunch, food was delicious as always and the patio area they have set up for dining is gorgeous.
Excellent service, delicious food, good covid precautions, and a great touch with live music
Super romantic outdoor seating on the patio, farm to table meals, and exceptional staff.
Great restaurant. Menu rather limited. Staff was EXCELLENT! Entree portion somewhat limited.
