Wood Ash Rye
Celebrated my husband’s birthday here and everything was wonderful! Excellent service and fun atmosphere. Everything we tried was delicious
We’ve enjoyed dining here twice. Everything we tasted was fabulous. We enjoy the social dining aspect of the restaurant. So far our favorites have been the grilled romaine salad, duck tacos and the New York Strip. Everything was cooked to perfection. For dessert we recommend the Banana Bread Pudding with its fresh bananas. Treat yourself to the sipping Chocolate as well!
Certainly we would recommend Wood Ash Rye to a friend for enjoyable dining experience
Fabulous! Great good and great service!
The wait staff was pleasant but took forever to get food and it was cold when we did finally get it. We would not recommend this place for quality, taste, or for any other reason. Cost for a simple breakfast was outrageous, won’t go back there.
Great good. Fun menu with big diversity. Would go again. The desserts (key lime and cheesecake) were 5 stars!
Food is good but a little expensive for the size of the dish.
Absolutely fabulous. Can’t wait to return to try more things on the menu. Had the ribs, octopus and biscuits. All were fabulous. Server was professional and attentive. Overall perfect.
Staying at hotel so had dinner here. Service was a bit slow to start but picked up as the evening went on. The food was very unique and delicious. Lots of vegan, Df and gf options. The duck tacos were awesome as was the Cornish hen. Squash and Brussels sprouts were also very tasty and lots to share. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Delicious, unique food. Be sure to share the starters you won’t be disappointed.
What a fabulous experience! From the moment we were seated our experience here was top notch. Branden was our server and he was incredible! He really knew his menu- his descriptions and pairings were perfect. We ordered everything he suggested and it did not disappoint! We shared our appetizers and main dish plates and it was all amazing. Branden immediately started us off with warm fresh biscuits- sharing the local salad and pork belly and watermelon. WOW! Amazing! Let’s not forget the cocktails- we both love whiskey and chose the W.A.R. Valley Tan. Not only delicious but the presentation was outstanding! For dinner he suggested the Agnolotti pasta (I’m not a big meat eater) and my son ordered the Lamb Korma. We were both in heaven with our selections. We were both stuffed but couldn’t miss the bread pudding for dessert. Again, highly suggested by our server and it was amazing! It was a busy night and we chatted with the people next to us, who were locals, and were also loving their meal selections! Branden and the rest of the team at this restaurant took great care of us- the food was always ran out fresh and hot and they didn’t miss a beat making sure we had everything we needed from drinks to food to water refills. The restaurant is very cozy and shouldn’t be missed for a delicious meal and relaxing, fun, inviting, tantalizing tastebud experience!
Delicious food! Loved the style (family sharing) and that as soon as food is ready it’s brought out.
Delicious food, good service.
Wood Ash Rye is one of my favorite restaurants to go to in St. George, especially if you’re celebrating something! The food is amazing and is served family style, and the drinks always impress. I highly recommend it!
Food was disappointing. Wine list was terrible
Music too loud
Please double check that spices in scallops gluten free… feel there must have been adobe or soy sauce…
But the roasted tomatoes were amazing
Service was slow. Waiter seemed to have too much going on.
Overall was a nice experience but the little things are what marked it down. The drink was not appropriate that was ordered. The food was okay not super special. Also it's come as ready so instead of ordering a salad and main course in order. They brought the main course first with the salad to follow bc that's the order that they came. For someone who hadn't been in the restaurant that would have been better explained. Otherwise positive not great
TL;DR modern and tasty food, friendly service. Highly recommended
We came at 5:30 with a reservation, we had to wait a few minutes to have our table set. We were promptly welcomed by our waitress, served water and asked for drinks choice. I had a Desert Rain mescal-based cocktail and was quite happy with it.
We ordered 4 “appetizer”plates. Every is made to share at this restaurant. The grilled carrots were, grilled romaines were good. We were especially impressed with the smoked turkey soup, very flavorful. I ordered the pork rinds, they came fresh out of the oil still cracking. They had put some spicy honey on top, quite nice!
It’s a small plates/sharing format, so you get to try a bunch of stuff, quite fun! As the restaurant was getting full, it is true that the service was getting slower. I had ordered a plate of French fries that was not coming. The waitress apologized and remove it from the bill, very nice gesture.
I had an excellent evening, the food was great and our waitress was very nice. If you are in the area and looking for a nice restaurant with good drinks, it is worth the drive!
If you’re craving a unique experience with unique food then this is where you need to be! The vibe is beautiful, they make you feel very well taken care of, and the food is delicious.
Waiters were attentive, food was upscale and delicious.
Great food. Loved the menu.
We have been here 4 times now and have loved it every single time. Always fresh and delicious!
Loved the set up of the restaurant; it had a very welcoming feel. Our server was excellent and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was delicious, but for a place that describes its plates as "shareable", the portions were on the small side.
Everything was great! We tried multiple items on the menu and nothing disappointed. Service was prompt and overall it was a great experience, highly recommended.
We had a 1pm reservation and did not realize the full menu was unavailable. The brunch offerings were good and were enjoyed. I was very much looking forward to items that were only available on the other menu. Should we return to the area, I will try the duck tacos. The restaurant is small and quaint. Loved the atmosphere. Service was slow and inattentive. Food was quite good but not everything arrived hot. There were 3 of us dining so not a large party. In fact only one large party and they were done so no visible reason. Would I recommend them? Yes Would I go back? Definitely. Hopeful for a better experience next time. Location is good too. Near some cute shops always a plus
Always great place to eat
Food was decent. Was expecting more. Service was good and environment was good.
Slightly overcooked steak. Otherwise, good.
The featured grilled swordfish was perfect as was the accompanying vegetable. The service was excellent. We were too full to order dessert, which means we will return for their incredible bread pudding!
I really enjoy the entire experience at WAR. The food and drinks are excellent and service is always exceptional. This is our go to for mom & dad date night!
Our first time here and we loved it. Great food and service. Will definitely be back!
Started with amazing drinks in the bar finished us with outstanding food. Definitely want to try this one out
We had a 6:15 pm reservation on a Saturday night, so when we arrived it was solidly busy and LOUD. We requested a table in a little quieter of an area, but were told those were all reserved for bigger parties. That's understandable, but the acoustics where we were seated made it almost impossible to carry on a conversation until a certain percentage of people left the restaurant halfway through our meal. On the plus side, the food we ordered as shared plates was very good. The lamb in the shwarma was perfectly cooked and the shrimp dish with succotash was excellent. We also had the opah, which was good and a generous portion size. They have a decent, curated selection of wines, which we ordered a bottle from. The dessert menu didn't really offer anything of interest to us personally, but we did have coffee at the end of our meal, which was good. Our waitress was kind and attentive and gave us good, professional service. The valet out back was super sweet, and even managed to have our car ready and waiting for us when we walked out of the hotel the restaurant is located in. We really did enjoy the food and service, but if noise level is an issue for you, I recommend you only dine here at off peak times.
Great tasting food, wonderful staff. Definitely will repeat !
Some of the dishes are fantastic while others were quite bland. The dishes are served to share and brought out as they are made meaning you may get your main dishes before your appetizers. Plates were somewhat small.
The food was amazing. If I had to critique one thing it would be that we waited too long for our second main dish the steak and frites. Other than that everything was right on. Thank you.
Small portions for the cost of dishes but everything had amazing flavors.
Had a nice family dinner!
