We found WAR as a hidden gem. It also serves as the restaurant for a boutique hotel at the same location. The name definitely fits its ambience, style and decor with prompt and courteous wait staff. Meals are served in a format for sharing with your table guests if you have any. We highly recommend WAR for a charming and filling night out !

Expected fine dining but the menu was a poor effort. The Mahi mahi was at best fair, the sauce on the shrimp Chinese dish was the best part of that dish, the side salad was good but only had 2 dressings offered, ranch and balsamic, 2 of us couldn’t find any dish that acceptable so we had the appetizer Burrata each, which we were told was on a bed of arugula but when it came out it was actually a spinach salad with burrata in the center with a sprinkling of crispy prosciutto. This restaurant was a hotel restaurant trying to be something it is not, fine dinning.

The service started out great; we were catching up with friends and our server was patient with us as we took our time. We ordered cocktails and appetizers (the brussels sprouts are amazing and the biscuits are absolutely to die for). The mains were okay; I ordered the salad for which the dressing was very meh and I had to get up and find pepper for myself. The guys ordered the shrimp and the pork chops and they were both happy with their choices. As the evening progressed we found the service to be less than devoted, and I get it, it was busy etc., however, when the dessert is delivered it really should be accompanied by serving utensils. Again, I had to get up from the table and track down what we needed. Overall I think the menu and the service and come a long way here, but there is still some room for improvement. Lastly, a little rearrangement of tables with something in the middle of the space to alleviate the cafeteria vibe would be a huge improvement.

This was our first time at Wood Ash Rye and it was outstanding. I got the french toast and my husband got the wagyu burger - both were phenomenal. A must try is their starter of biscuits and jam!

Such a refreshing, sophisticated, yet cozy environment for outstanding musical performance! Loved the limited numeber of people on the rooftop, open hot tub,, seating, bar area, lovely food and attention to details... AMAAAAzing staff... so kind, friendly, efficient... one of the best and memorable social experiences we've had to date in St. George... I book bands and musicicans in our local area and this was such a treat to experience... Im hopeful for an ongoing schedule of artistis through the summer and into fall and winter... it is sooooooo needed and welcomed for St. George!! Absolutely loved this spot! We were traveling through the St. George area and found this place through Reddit reviews—so glad we went with it! The ambiance was stunning, the service was warm and attentive, and the food? Incredible. We ordered shareable-style so we could try a variety of dishes, and every single one was packed with flavor and beautifully plated. The standout for me was the short rib gnocchi—so good we had to order a second round for the table. From food quality to vibe to service, it was a 10/10 across the board. Highly recommend if you’re in the area and looking for a memorable dining experience!
