Wolfgang's Steakhouse - The Podium
The brainchild of Wolfgang Zwiener, once head waiter at the nationally-acclaimed Peter Luger’s Steakhouse, the original Wolfgang’s Steakhouse was opened in 2004 on NYC’s Park Avenue. Now boasting nineteen locations worldwide, this leading steakhouse has become a global sensation, recognized for its perfectly prepared USDA Prime dry-aged steaks.
Loved the food very much but didn’t like the service because there was one waitress that we didn’t like the attitude.
The steak is good but not out of this earth outstanding. The chicken soup is mediocre at best. The service is awesome but the room temperature is uncomfortably hot that it gave me a headache. The steak is reasonably priced but the other menu items are overpriced.
The food was delicious, the staff friendly and helpful and the whole dining experience was very enjoyable. This is fast becoming our favourite steakhouse.
Waitress was bad, had to request water several times, drinks, we were told when we sat down we must order right away. We we’re rushed to leave numerous times.
The food was great as expected (However, I think the same steak we ordered last year was better). We arrived half an hour before closing that's why we understand that the staff are less energetic than usual.
Will try to visit again in an earlier time, to see if it will be better.
Tuna was perfect, GF barfed all the way home, oysters.
You should have a steak which has serving size enough for only one person so that diners (for instance a couple) wont be forced to eat a 1 kilo steak or a little less (900), because the serving is too big and sliced too thick. This is also to give the diners a chance to try other food in the menu. thank you
Good food. Especially the juicy steak . And the cheese cake really amazed me in a good way . Pretty good experience .
The service and recommendation was a disappointment with the head waiter.. I been a long WOLFGANG client in most of their branches World wide plus a regular to the branch... but the service and also the suggestion that day for the head waiter was really discouraging. Hoping that they can maintain the same WOLFGANG standard...
Their Porterhouse was fantastic. We ordered a steak good for two and the recommended portion size quite larger than I expected and could definitely be good for two people with big appetites or three people "normal" serving.
Steak at its best, good food, fast and superb service!
We had a reservation at 8pm. Seated at 9pm.
Only free chips and bread were given while waiting. (That was okay.)
Orders took too long.
Steak, which what we were really excited for, was overcooked into well done from Medium request. Decided Not to change it since we’ve been waiting for a while.
All orders wasn’t finished as our hunger already passed. Slightly disappointed that I didn’t get my money’s worth on a very special night for us.
Sadly can’t say we’ll go back to Wolfgang again. We had so much better experience in steak in Mamou.
Service was bad. We had to follow up on our requests thrice at the minumum. Not only to one server but the servers who attended to us.
Very good steak, accommodating staff and pleasant ambiance.
The unbelievably delicious steak comes with an equally unbelievably expensive price too.
Food was excellent, service was excellent as well, nice ambiance, great for special occassions.
Love the steak! Will definitely go back with my family. More options for smaller size steaks.
We loved their steak and salmon! Def coming back. Their service was awesome!
Wolfgang food is exceptional to me but the cost seems a tad too much for what you get. The service is exceptional if you announce to the service team that you want good service. The wine was served late, and we had to tell them that it was not acceptable when you pay for red wine worth 120 dollars a bottle! Also, we were seated with a great view of the kitchen door. There was a reservation made! I don't appreciate being a favorite nor being on the loosing end.
Hideously overpriced! The food is decent, but nothing that would justify the price. I had a nice bottle of wine, as I should have, given the prices. The cheapest bottle on the menu was more than $100.
Too attentive. Too many staff waiting on you. Hence the exorbitant pricing. Water pushers - offers you still or sparkling and doesn't tell you that 1 person gets 1 bottle each. Sneaky way to drive up sales.
Completely overpriced vs other Wolfgang Restos all over the world.
The humble mamou tastes so much better and justifiably priced.
Excellent steak! Service was just okay, but the servers were very attentive to us.
Steak was not as expected a bit chewy, expecting great steak for the price we paid.
The podium branch is small and noisy not ideal for fine dining.
The only thing i like is the potato chips and beer.
The foods were excellent; we could taste the freshness of the vegetables, while the steak is one of the best that I have ever tasted. Service was also great. They also gave us a free dessert when they learned that we were having a special occasion.
Few things that we did not like was the aggressive sales talk: we intended to just have house water, but before we were able to ask for it, they would ask: "Water? Would you like mineral or sparkling?" That is optional, but I still decided to have some sparkling water.
...and while knowing that the steak that we ordered does not come with any side dish, they would suggest the sides as they have taken the order of steak "broccoli on the side? how about asparagus?" Super aggressive. Well, we could have said no to those suggestions. :)
Other than that, again, the steak is perfect and excellent.
Steak is great! Worth going back for. We ordered this fish of the day (cod with miso) and it wasn't cooked as expertly as the steak.
We expected better service since this is a high end restaurant. Service was not attentive and can definitely stand improvement.
The food was good. The service was always there tp serve up the steaks and the seafood. Will try again on other special occassions.
for the price point, service is disappointing consider the hoard of staff hanging around. I advised that my salad would be my main and it cam out with my entrée, they didn't bother changing it and it was off course soggy. My client had to ask 3 time for a simple cranberry juice and tonic drink. If you don't understand what is being said then just ask, don't nod your head!!!
The food was a bit of a wait but the food was delicious. The lamb was cooked well, one of the best I've had so far
I've been to fine dining establishments where you're served seven courses paired with wine, while looking out at the sparkling waterfront while enjoying the soft jazz playing in the background. (This was in Aria in Brisbane and in Monti in Singapore, for anyone curious.)
When I compare the prices we've paid for in Wolfgang Steakhouse compared to those fine establishments, I only have one conclusion: the rent at Podium must be very expensive.
The restaurant was packed with so many tables that you had to squirrel your way through. The restaurant was loud and confined. You could hear the cacophony of every other patron inside. Service was clumsy and the staff obviously not trained up to fine dining standards. The servers lacked in many areas and overcompensated in a way that rubbed wrong. For example, we had to clear our own plates and cutlery to make way for the food. No one lifted a finger to do this for us. The bread and butter dish were not cleared until long after the meal was done. Yet they intrusively asked us if we wanted more wine, often interrupting us while we were conversing, or while my partner was on his phone. They tried to put away my wine, even when I wasn't done with it. They spilled wine on the tablecloth each time they poured it onto the glass. They served the steak in front of my partner, then asked as an afterthought if he wanted it cut up. He said yes, and they whisked the steak away.
And the steak? I've had better for a fraction of the price. That Wolfgang's claim to fame is that their beef is "USDA" and "chilled, not frozen" is laughable compared to the live-shipped, wagyu beef you can get elsewhere.
The prices are laughably expensive, almost insulting. They charge you almost the bottle price for a glass of inexpensive wine. They don't print prices per glass on their menu, almost as if to expect you to buy an entire bottle, even for dessert wine! They charged us separately for the steak sauce, too.
Would not return, would not recommend.
The steak wasn't evenly cooked from the outside, some parts were slightly more burn, inside however was tender and juicy. Overall was ok.
The place was cozy and the waiters & waitresses were friendly.
The steak and salmon that I ordered were good but the cream spinach siding was really bad. We only took one bite of the cream spinach and didn’t touch it anymore.
Great steaks, fast service. We were served by Majica and she gave us outstanding service. But the place is too small for the capacity. Hence, cramp and noisy.
