Went for lunch. This is Asian-inspired cuisine. The ramen broth was initially bland but it grew on you. The dan dan was flavorful but only because random pickled cabbages were inserted, without a sense of organization. Happy we tried it. They appear to have a good Japanese whisky menu though.
Excellent food and a great atmosphere! We all loved everything, and even though our drinks and food took a while to be delivered, everyone was wonderful! We understand that since COVID, you might need to be more patient overall-and it was worth it!
Went to this restaurant based on the menu posted on OpenTable. The menu at the restaurant was less. They were not serving (until next week, we were told)the food choice we had gone for. The staff, though at times somewhat disorganized, were friendly. The music within the restaurant at arrival was loud. It was difficult to hold a conversation with my wife. Then they turned off the music and the street musician outside began his program. The sound was louder than the music had been inside earlier. What food we did order was alright, but nothing to rave about. Most likely we will not return to this establishment.
They have update their menu but the soups are still on the bland side, even the spicy soup didn't have a rich flavor, just mainly spice. The happy hour selection is pretty varied and fun to choose from on the food side, limited on the drink specials. The kiddie menu has been reduced and no more the PB&J Bao they had that my little one enjoyed.
Service was extremely slow. Took 10-15 minutes to receive a drink after waiting 10 minutes for the server to greet us. The server didn't check on us after the food was delivered. Food was lacking flavor/salt.
Great dinning with friends
Waiters hovered a little too much. Constantly busing our table and asking if we needed anything. Trying to have a girls night to catch up on life and was interrupted even after we said no thanks several times. Felt rushed.
Ihave now eaten at both the PB and the Carmel Valley locations and will say the food is next level. Both locations are well staffed, fun, energetic and excellently served places to eat. The sushi is great, ramen is awesome, the drunken noodles are friggin amazing. The drinks are good. I have no negative things to say about either location.
If it weren’t for Ricky saving the day, I think we would of had a lousy time here.
We were sat at this table in between the bathrooms and the station where the servers talk to the chefs and run their food out to the tables. This is out of the restaurants hands I think, but we had left reservations on Open Table originally because that’s what we needed to do to go see one of our favorite singers, Eli Mac. But when we got there, there was nothing available outside! Had no idea you had to annoyingly request in the notes to be seated outside. We’d rather not have to do things like that because it feels like we’re being a menace to the restaurant.
Anyways, moving forward. I don’t think we had a designated server because one person took got our drinks and took the orders for our food, but Ricky was the one that helped us from there on out. Nobody ever checked on us to see how we’re doing the entire time but since Ricky was at the station the most he just happened to be the one we asked for things like refills and sauces.
Even though he probably had other priorities, he was kind and helpful with whatever we needed.
Even at the end of our time we tried ordering 2 drinks to go since we were there originally to see a live concert out in front of the restaurant, the person who we ordered from never came back with the drinks so after 15 minutes of waiting, we asked Ricky if he could see if our beers were coming out soon and he instantly went to make sure our drinks were ordered and got us our beers within 1 minute.
Thank Ricky for the outstanding service, we appreciate your effort to fix things while others seemed to forget we were there!
Service was a little slow at first but friendly and helpful. Food was delicious. Ordered Dan Dan noodles and Tonkotsu ramen. Will go back.
Loved the food, drinks, energy and music! Thank you!
Alex and Alex were both very accommodating. Love this place, great food, and good vibe. Definitely will return and recommend to all my friends!
Went here with party of four on a Friday night. Ordered appetizers, sushi, and food all at same time. One appetizer showed within about 15 minutes, and all seemed fine. About 5 minutes later, one person’s entree showed up, which was confusing. Maybe 15 minutes later, one sushi roll showed up. We asked the waiter why food delivery was so randomized and she said that on busy nights they simply bring food out as it’s ready so it doesn’t get cold. If we came in for lunch on a slow day, food would arrive in a more uniform and traditional order. WTH??!! So we continued to wait. We finally asked for the manager to see where the rest of our food was. Some was still on the way (allegedly), and some our waiter simply forgot to put in. Long story short, we finally just asked them to remove the stuff from the bill that we didn’t receive, and we would pay and leave because we were starving. I walked a little ways down to Fresh Brothers and ordered pizzas while the others waited to pay. When I returned, my party was still begging to pay the bill and go. Finally the bill and payment were collected. Our pizzas were ready before we made it out of there. The food we actually received wasn’t anything special, pizza at Fresh Brothers was amazing though.
Enjoyed appetizers and drinks at 3pm.
Came for sushi but they don’t serve sushi until 5pm. So
we came back later for sushi to go.
Service was good and heater was set up
For us outside to stay warm. Their Edamame is the best!!!
Amazing food and wonderful service.
Yummy ramen and drinks, friendly service. thank you!
We eat here often, the food is consistently great and they also have delicious cocktails! The ramen here is my favorite!
Great Friday night outdoor atmosphere. Great drinks/ service. Would recommend.
The new menu is great. Cocktails are worth going out of your way to enjoy as well. Service is considerate and you feel safe and well taken care of in very pleasant outdoor seating. Always enjoy coming here.
Always a great meal there and the live music is always a bonus!
Sushi is wayyyyy overpriced for what came out, I at least expected the presentation to be wonderful for the price we paid. I’ll stick to my neighborhood Sushi spot for more flavorful and presentable sushi with legit sushi chefs, these looked very amateur for the price. The servers were awesome and the ambience was great, however we ended up cancelling our last 2 orders of sushi that we added on because we were waiting so long. We were probably waiting at least 20 min and they had not been made yet (I wouldn’t have cancelled if they already started on it). Overall a nice restaurant with nice outdoor seating to enjoy the Friday evening live music, but ridiculously overpriced for what came out.
So happy to see the re-opening of Wokou, and the new menu is very exciting. Really enjoyed the Monkey Brains, and the new cocktails (see Pearl of Okinawa!) are very inventive. Staff was genuinely glad to see us, and made the meal very pleasant (even if they all had to be behind masks). Glad to know I will be returning often to try more of the new menu.
