Was just here this past Sunday and had such a beautiful dinner. Came here for my boyfriend’s birthday and was seated next to the window with a beautiful view. The service was excellent, very attentive and genuinely nice. They sang happy birthday to my boyfriend and brought us the most delicious dessert. For appetizers we had the duck ravioli and the burrata, so delicious! For dinner we had the New York strip steak and the organic chicken, both great. Would recommend this to anyone and would definitely return!
I enjoyed my dining experience. The food was delicious. I loved the lamb rack and would recommend it to anyone who likes lamb. I will definitely return in the future.
Overall, I enjoy the Windsor. There is a lot of room for improvement. The server was not very good. I had to ask for the drink menu, and when she first brought it, it was missing one of the two pages. She brought it after I asked for the cocktail side. She didn't tell us te specials until I asked if there were any.
The food was delicious as always. It is pricey but very good.
Great place to stay and eat. The Lamb chops were excellent. Service excellent!
We were there to celebrate two birthdays. Beautiful setting in historic mountain top Lodge. It is a resort style setting with a very professional staff appropriate for the setting. Not really a restaurant you would frequent given its rather remote setting, but clearly a cool place to spend a weekend.
The food was very good and well prepared and presented. The only flaws were some out of season things the chef should try to steer clear of, i.e., the buratta appetizer was excellent but the tomatoes were disappointing (as one would expect in January). The mascarpone was delicious but the figs were bland and lacked sweetness (a drizzle if honey would have made me forget). My pork chop was sizable and perfectly prepared, the fish dish was delicious but a little undersized. The lamb chops were cooked perfectly and vegetarians would not be disapointed with the well seasoned cauliflower steak. Coming up with something more in season would have made the meal perfect. The price tag is on the high end but they comped two birthday desserts, which was nice. Overall, while not "spectacular" everything was pretty solid. Would definitely return.
Had to sort ribs and the steak special and both were outstanding
A very pretty room in a beautiful lodge. An opportunity for a classy dinner. Great service and solid food but a bit pricey for the region.
First class experience. We all had the filet which was perfectly cooked. Also loved the duck ravioli to start. Our server Fernando was great. Juggling multiple tables but was very attentive. The maitre di came over to say hello and ask how we were doing. All good.
Dinner was delicious!!
Went for a fabulous dinner last night at Skytop Lodge. It was beautifully decorated for the holidays. The service from all the staff was fantastic. We enjoyed a nice bottle of wine, outstanding in food and scrumptious dessert. Our server, Tori was very personable and attentive to us. The Hotel manager came to our table and spoke with us. Very nice touch. Next time we go, we would like to stay and enjoy the accommodations.
We adore Skytop and the Windsor. Unfortunately, the food was sub par. Most of the food tasted stale or unseasoned.
It was very nice to spend Christmas eve at Skytop Lodge. The Windsor Dinning room is very impressive and the decorations were tasteful and beautiful. The food was very good and the hotel has a very good wine selection as well. Service was very attentive but could have been a bit friendlier.
Our only disappointment was that they really do not enforce any sort of dress code. I saw too many people dressed inappropriately for this class of restaurant and it took away from the ambiance of the evening.
Christmas family gathering
Service was sub par at best and steaks were under and overcooked, respectfully. They add an 18% gratuity automatically for all checks so expect lackluster service.
Love this place and the restaurant!
This was our 3rd visit for special occasion and will come back!
Our friends from Philadelphia absolutely loved it!
We were well cared for by our waiter Fernando from beginning to end of a leisurely Thanksgiving buffet. The food choices were extensive and the setting was charming as always. The entire staff was friendly, inviting, and attentive.
Food was so so. Squash soup tasted like mass produced and short rib that was tasty but dripping in fat. Yes, it is a fatty meat but this was literally orange grade all thru the mashed potatoes underneath and kind of unappetizing. However, we are breakfast there in the morning and it was very very good.
Convenient if you are staying at the Skytop lodge - food was okay but seems massively produced at once
This restaurant mostly serves hotel guests so it has a ‘built in’ diner base, but I live locally and go to this restaurant a half a dozen times or so each summer season.
The food quality is highly variable, and tonight it was poor. My wife had the cod, and while it was tasty, it was a half portion at best. Envision a pack of playing cards as larger. With tax and tip the cost approached $50.00.
My crusted salmon portion was slightly larger but it was almost inedibly dry.
In all, a very poor value experience.
The non-kitchen staff are usually pretty good at their jobs and this night was no exception.
Great lodge!! Will definitely be back
We waited almost an hour after ordering for our food to arrive. The couple next to us ordered before we sat down and were still served after us. The food was undercooked. Extremly rare lamb.
The service was outstanding and wonderful! We had Fernando and he was outstanding!! If we could rate him >5 stars we would! The food was amazing and we ordered different menu selections from appetizers to dessert and nothing disappointing about any of it!! KUDOS to the staff and the chefs!!
This enormous dining room is low on charm but our server was darling and the food was good. (We had eaten here 2 nights before and the food was only passable.) I had the special - surf & turf, which always fills me with dread - but it was excellent. the Barramundi filet and the steak were perfectly cooked, as was the broccolini that came with it.
Everything was perfect. The lamb chops were cook just the way I like, my husband had a filet which was cooked perfectly it was very quite in the dining room because there was only 4 tables with people for a Thursday night. Dessert was the perfect size to split it was the red velvet.
Our waitress was very attentive, we asked her to not hurry us through dinner. We were able to enjoy our anniversary dinner.
Thank you.
The dining room could use some freshening up. Chipped wood, not so clean carpet. I had the special surf and turf. The filet was ordered medium rare and delivered rare, the pawn stuffing was tasty but the prawn itself was overcooked and dry. Both were served with Hollandaise sauce which was very sparingly dotted on the plate.
Very beautiful peaceful dining room with excellent staff. Food is good but not quite up to the grandeur of the surrounding and the excellent service.
First time visit and it was wonderful. Everything about the Windsor is as advertised - great food, great service and great ambiance!
We stayed at the Lodge for the weekend for my 60th birthday with our adult children and spouses. The dinner was mean to be a special meal and it was. The service was excellent - efficient and friendly. The food was very good though the ice cream ordered was sub-par, considering the classy nature of the restaurant. We were in a room with a birthday celebration with a table of ten young children who were very noisy. This ruined the evening though we still enjoyed the meal.
Overall a nice dining experience. Service was poor, especially given the price point. Surprisingly, they added an 18% service charge to the bill for a party of four people, so check your bill carefully before adding a tip.
Weekend getaways
The food was fabulous and the service was impeccable!
The service and food were wonderful. Fernando the waiter is the best!
Good food; attentive service
Lovely dining room. Went for dinner. Service was excellent. Food was mediocre and overpriced.
The staff was excellent, efficient, and kind. The food was delicious. The room was lovely.
My husband had the salmon and he's still talking about how tasty it was. I had the filet and it was cooked just the way I requested. They made us feel special and we will definitely be returning.
Scallops and shrimp were great. Our Jamaican waiter couldn’t have been more pleasant and attentive. Wine list at Skytop always (100 plus dinners) always seems a bit off for price/value - we were the only wine bottle in the room , probably as a result.
We’ve been going for 20 years and we’ll be back.
Food was pedestrian for the amount they’re charging. Probably good for the area but if you’re visiting from NYC or Philadelphia you’d be better served sticking to the Taproom on property. At least that way you can save some money.
Lovely, classic dining experience with beautiful views of the garden. The food and service were wonderful. Dining guests actually made an effort to dress well.
Old world charm and thoroughly enjoyable!
we waited 30 minutes before having to ask the hostess for a waitress. it seems they don't have enough waitstaff for the large dining room set up. the food was ok, but for the price and the wait i wouldn't recommended it. the grounds are beautiful and it seems like a great place to stay as a guest of the hotel.
Had a lovely birthday dinner! The waitstaff was excellent. Thanks for taking such good care of us!
