Willow Pismo Beach
Beautiful views of ocean, waiters-service excellent, very good food, spacious and decor, nice.
My husband and I ate here for NYE dinner. Food was delicious, service was good. Ambiance was a little off (it’s like the restaurant isn’t sure what it wants to be), food was incredibly expensive for the type of place it is (sports bar-ish).
Great! Amazing meal for New Years.
We had just sat down when all the lights went out. We've eaten at Willow many times and it is always really good. They had a generator going so the kitchen was still up, then power to over 6,500 homes and businesses went out and so did their generator. The manager offered us a flashlight since we were walking. Most people had to leave. He, the manager offered us a return trip but we were leaving down the very next morning. This is truly a hot spot in the area, so please try it! We've always had great service and food.
Felt the food was overpriced for a restaurant with a view of a parking lot. Food was good but not something I would go back for. Staff is excellent and the Restaurant is fairly new so maybe they will work the kinks out.
Our waiter, Mark, was terrific. He made the whole dining experience even more special. Thanks, Mark.
I made a reservation for Christmas Day, and chose Willow because they did not have a fixed menu. When we arrived, we had 3 options, which is basically a fixed menu. The options were all basically the same, with 3 different meats (it was a glorified thanksgiving dinner). If your restaurant has a different menu, you should tell your guest when making a reservation (like all the other restaurants did).
Very slow service.
Went for a combo Thanksgiving/56th Anniversary dinner and the food was fantastic. I hate turkey so I was very pleased with the prime rib option with all the delicious side dishes that I love. Very cozy, romantic, wonderful service, and delicious food - a winner!!!
Came here for lunch on Thanksgiving Day and they were serving a prix fixe menu only. Pumpkin bisque was excellent. Entree was either turkey or prime rib with many sides. The yams, green beans and prime rib were good. But turkey, stuffing and mashed potatoes were quite salty. Portions were very large! Dessert either pumpkin or apple pie.
Great food and service The Salmon was amazing! Todd, our server, was excellent and gave great recommendations!! All the staff was friendly.
We made reservations about one hour before our dinner and received a fine table with a wonderful view of the ocean.
Our waiter, Todd, was no-nonsense and saw to all of our needs. A fine waiter!!
Great service and very good food. A fun spacious place to kick back & relax.
This was the 3rd time we went and took friends who had not eaten there. The Clam Chowder was sandy as was my pasta and clams. My girlfriend got the fish and chips and the coating was heavy and dry. The waiter was informed about the clam chowder and was going to take it off the bill as he said the pot of chowder was sandy. The bill arrived and we had to point it out to the waiter that the bill included the soup charge.
The friends we took weren't impressed. I will give it another try.
Total horror! Service was total disaster. We sisn’t get anything without asking and reminding waitress and manager. Respectively it took forever to get drinks and food. Quality of drinks amd food was also not good. Didn’t feel like food was freshly and knowingly prepared. Never ever again. Real tourist trap....
Had so much fun and the guy singing was amazing the older guy on the wash board was epic!!! Food was so good
Service was fast and friendly. Food was very good. We had the Oso Bucco (delicious) and Fish & Chips which were fresh and well cooked. There are daily vegetarian soup specials...the tomato bisques was extremely good. Great ocean views, full bar and nice wine list. They also have a deli and take away wine to purchase which we did not take advantage of but may be good to know.
Came to Pismo Beach for a mini vacation, decided to try Willow. Very friendly service & pretty good food, ended up eating there twice within 2 days.
The outside is VERY deceiving with all the signs for beers and happy hour. Really looks like a diner and can keep people from coming in based on curb appeal.
BUT, once inside, it’s a totally diff story. Great food, great drinks, kid friendly, great honest service and overall top notch newer restaurant for Pismo. Plus the live guitar entertainment after 9 was great!
Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal! Will def come back.
Delicious food and great service. I was glad that we were able to book a table a day before we arrived. It’s one of the fancy restaurants in the central coast. I like it’s location with pretty of parking. Variety food choices is a plus too.
Willow is located right next to where we were staying in Pismo Beach, so we decided to go there for dinner. Our server was incredibly friendly and attentive, as were all of the other servers. Our food was fantastic. Overall, we loved our dining experience at Willow.
By far the best vacation dinner and service we have had in a long time! Rhonda, our server, deserves a dozen stars!
We met with another couple for dinner and enjoyed great food and cocktails. Our server, Rhonda, was attentive and friendly. We couldn't have asked for anything more!
Great vibe. Beautiful remodel. Good food! We’ll definitely become regulars!
Justin has the place in good shape. Full menu is now available, seating areas are complete and art accents up. Pork Oso Bucco was excellent!
Our small group tried the Sunday Brunch. The host and our server were efficient and friendly. Ocean view is nice. They were out of a couple of the standard items that we wanted. Food preparation quality still needs work, but it was okay. As others have said, the food quality and value is better at the Nipomo Willow, but this has the better view.
Had a reservation for 7 people at noon. Arrived a few minutes before noon and there was no one at the front. Waited a bit as employees walked by without acknowledging me or my party. Finally, someone came up and I told them we had a reservation. She then went to 'get the table ready'. A few minutes passed and we were seated. I do not understand why the table was not ready. The restaurant was in no way busy. Plus, the lack of service and acknowledgment upon arrival did not bode well. I thought by making a reservation the restaurant could have planned for a larger party, but it seems there is no management. Furthermore, the staff does not seem to be trained. Once seated, it took more than 10 minutes to get water. We requested a child's menu, only to be told 10 minutes later that Willow "is printing some out". We never received a child's menu. The food was fine. Nothing special. Willow seems to lack management and a staff that is properly trained. I would not recommend this place.
We made a last minute reservation on July 4th. Initially we were seated near the kitchen and told there were no tables because of preexisting reservarions for months, ehich made sense, but we were facing a man washing dishes so we were bummed and about to leave. Then we asked again and there had in fact been a cancellation. The manager gladly sat us in full view of the fireworks and our server was really nice. The coconut curry soup got rave reviews from an adult and a teen who rarely agree on anything. Overall a really great experience.
Our party of 12 was there for the 4th of July dinner.
This restaurant has all the ingredients for a 5-star experience, but they still need to iron out some kinks.
First of all, the food was excellent. 5-star. The service was clumsy and slow in getting food to all of us, or delivering some food, and others having to wait. We also ordered 4 bottles of wine. It probably took 10 minutes for the wine to arrive, and when it did, they left without supplying wine glasses!
Food: I got the pan seared diver scallops and a filet mignon. These scallops were probably the best scallops I have ever had, golden on both sides, while tender and juicy on the inside. The filet was also perfect. A perfect medium rare, and an excellent quality. The problem was that they were delivered separately. They told me the chef was not happy with the first filet, but whatever, I would like my entire dinner at the same time. (I'm guessing they overcooked the first one.)
Willow Pismo Beach just needs to iron out the delivery of this excellent food to the table (for larger crowds,) and I'll give them the 5-stars.
Looking forward to our next visit.
We arrived in town late so we though we would have to eat bar food. What a great surprise. The food was fantastic and reasonable
TLDR: Don't get seafood fishes from here; come here to watch sports and sit at the bar.
We had two fish dishes, shrimp appetizer and fish and chips, and both were obviously frozen prior to being served. Each dish was devoid of flavor and tasted like water. The third dish, chicken with wild rice and asparagus, also lacking in flavor but at least the chicken was not dry. I usually don't take a bite of restaurant food and think I can make it better myself, but that was definitely the case here. Also, it was all kind of pricey.
I didn't have an opportunity to sit at the bar, but it seems like this place would be much better suited for drinks and watching sports. I did like that they have fridges where you can purchase alcohol and cake deserts which is very convenient if you are staying next door at SeaCrest hotel, especially since they are open till after 11PM for a late night beverage.
Dinner was nice. Waiter was great. Some dishes were great others were not. But all in all very nice evening. Loved the waiter !
I wouldn't recommend it for fine dining but the bar scene had a cool vibe
Food was fair. Clam chowder was too cold, white wine too warm.
As I said on Yelp.... let me start by saying that this place serves decent enough cocktails and some pretty delicious soup, tacos, and sandwiches. But, I'm increasingly getting frustrated at restaurants' websites. We went to eat one night to celebrate an important event and order steaks. And we specifically came to Willow because they advertise their full menu on their website, which lists steaks. However, after we had sat down and ordered our drinks, we discovered that they only serve part of their menu on certain days. So, no dinner entrees on Tuesday evenings. They don't inform you of this on their website. Whether this is an oversight or intended, it's still false advertising and this seems like its becoming more widespread, these days. Our food and drinks were okay that evening, but we were pretty bummed that we went out for a nice dinner and instead had to order sandwiches. We would have just left right away, but we had already ordered drinks and it was beginning to get late. Willow.... please update your website and be honest.
When I went to the website it wasn't posted they were having a Mother's Day buffet. It was 50 dollars a person and we felt that was way too much for the offering. The service was negligible.
Oh dear . . . I was AFRAID that Open Table would ask about our Willow, Pismo Beach experience on Mother's Day.
From the moment we arrived, I knew that things were OFF: the front area that will eventually become a market-place was full of randomly placed tall chairs (what?) that took away from any ambience that they might have wanted to project. We were pleased to see many of our old pals that previously worked at Adelina's at Trilogy Monarch Dunes. I really hope this move works for them, but last Sunday it wasn't working for US. Bloody Marys were off Off OFF! The buffet included rather delicious shrimp, but watery crab clusters. The bits of good news: the bacon was cooked perfectly, and the omelet station gal was friendly, fun, and GOOD; she's a keeper. But - why not have some warm plates on hand for the just-cooked eggs? My omelet went cold in two minutes. I may come back on a regular weekday, but the $50 apiece we paid for the buffet (Bloody Marys extra) was so NOT worth it! We love Willow, Nipomo, and would really like to see this Willow succeed, but come On - don't overreach with too-expensive/not worth it buffets, and concentrate on making Willow, Pismo Beach a welcoming fun place to be for everyday dining.
The manager bent over backwards to get us a last minute reservation for a large party. However, the service was a buffet only and was VERY expensive. We were not informed that this was the case and it appeared nowhere on there website. With so many people in our party, it was impossible to change to another restaurant. A very unfortunate and awkward situation.
Get a steak! They are AMAZING!
Undercooked seafood a NO NO. Garlic pasta without garlic a big mistake.
