Very nice place not very crowded so it was even more quaint
Chef Zach has some incredible dishes on his menu that can please any palate. I had the lamb trio and it was outstanding. The elk and buffalo bolognese is one of our favorites. They have a fantastic wine list to choose from as well. A great place to eat if you are staying in the Highlands!
The service is impeccable and friendly. The food was delicious and very fresh. The gelato was incredible!
It’s hard to believe a Ritz Carlton has such a poor restaurant. The servers seemed overwhelmed even though it was not a busy night. There are TVs everywhere making it feel like a sports bar rather than a nice restaurant. I asked for a Kir Royale (champagne with Creme de Cassis) with Prosecco and, without asking if I’d like a substitute, the server brought me Prosecco , saying they didn’t make kir royales. The food service was slow. Two couples shared 2 salads. One was served in 2 plates, but not the other. Pasta bolognese entree was ok. Free range chicken and meat loaf were awful. We asked for small boxes for leftovers, but waited so long we finally left without them since the food was not that great. If this is what the Ritz Carlton has to offer to guests in their condos in Aspen Highlands, I wouldn’t go there.
The Willow Creek Bistro at the Ritz had a casual feel to it, which was nice. The kitchen was within open view of the dining area. Our table was off to the side, though right near a pillar which was less than attractive. The food was solid, though not exceptional. My wife had the chicken breast which she raved about. My daughter had the burger and was pleased with it. My son and I both had the elk/caribou meatloaf and lobster mac only 3 of the meals came out together, the 4th came out about 5-7 minutes later - oddly it was one of the meatloaf/m&c dishes so somehow they hadn’t prepared both at the same time. For the price, I would have expected more - though this was clearly more of a casual dining environment vs a more formal setting.
We had a most wonderful dinner and experience
Great buzz at the bottom of Highlands!
We had a great night with amazing steaks and surprisingly good Asian fare (pho and pad tai). Lobster Mac and cheese and grilled lamb chops as apps were just perfect. Cocktail list could use a little more creativity, but everything else was excellent.
Great restaurant, good prices and kids menu. Chili was yum!
Within walking distance of our residence and excellent food especially the home made tagliatelle with mushrooms. Great children’s menu

Chef Zac has transformed the dining experience at Willow Creek Bistro since his arrival. Focusing on fresh, quality ingredients and detailed, refined preparation menu options are consistently prepared to a high standard.
The menu offerings are plentiful enough to please most palettes, as is the wine list — both great values for the buck.
Staff is friendly and accommodating, and the dining room is comfortable and inviting — quiet enough to have an intimate conversation.
Definitely worth the few extra minutes drive outside of downtown Aspen for lunch and/or dinner.
What an amazing dinner at the Ritz! The atmosphere at Willow Creek is casual and has a ski resort vibe to it. But what made last night so special was the amazing food and quietly competent service.
My wife and I tried a few things, all of which were excellent, but the PhoBowl with shrimp was amazing and the elk burger the best burger I’ve had in Aspen.
Don’t go here if you’re looking for a Cache Cache or Betula energy. But if you’re looking for a lodge feel and awesome food, definitely give it a shot.
Do not book. We went thinking we were going to have a nice dining experience at Rotz Carlton. Food was over cooked, over salted, and over priced. This was such an unpleasant experience and we expect so much more from a Ritz restaurant. They should be embarrassed!
For all the excellent restaurants in Aspen - Matsuhisa, Kenichi, White House, Betula, and Ajax Tavern, this little Ritz Carlton gem belongs on any list of best places to dine in Aspen.
Best chicken in town, great innovative pho , and a great bar menu - great place for a large party as well...
Good food. Uncrowned on the days when Aspen restaurants are overbooked. Great ambiance and friendly waiters. Chef Zac does a great job proving INc a creative menu
Great dinner! Meatloaf was so good! So was cheese cake.
Great Dining experience.
Great service , food and atmosphere!
Family vacation. Really enjoyed the dinner. Pricey but special. Great atmosphere, staff, food and drink.
This place needs Gordon Ramsey to revamp the food prep and the menu. We spent a x mass eve nightmare dealing with horrendous service and extremely poor quality food and poorly prepared food. I asked for a Manhattan cocktail. It arrived on the rocks. I requested that they send me another straight up, but not to just pour the watered down drink into a new glass. Of course, that is exactly what they did. From my initial request to finally rejecting the second effort the time was 25 minutes. Now the food. The salads wer ok at best. The elk flat bread was ok+. My wife’s vegetarian burger was like burnt paper. My sons meat loaf was delivered dripping in water. Obviously just out of the microwave oven. My daughter asked for shrimp wit “mixed vegetables”. The only veg was broccoli and it arrived cold. The way the service staff dealt with these mishaps was completely unprofessional. We left completely dissatisfied. I’m shocked that the Ritz Carlton could manage a place like this.
We dined at Willow Creek twice on our recent week-long stay at Ritz Aspen-Highlands. On both occasions, we were greeted and seated promptly, drinks came quickly and menu selections presented. Our meal was perfectly paced, never intrusive but very attentive. Both evening we had the French Onion Soup which was probably one of the best we have ever had. We shared the Rainbow Trout and it was quite tasty. On two afternoons, we sat in the bar and enjoyed cocktails and small plates and they were excellent as well. The ambiance during the day was "energetic" and the evening was "dining delightful." Bon Appetit!
Great restaurant amazing food
A very impressive night at the Willow Creek Bistro in the Ritz Carlton at the base of Highlands.
I usually have the incredible elk burger and a beer after skiing but hadn’t tried the place for dinner. I guess that chef Zac gets the chance to flex his culinary muscles a little more at dinner and he really crushed it. The pan roasted chicken was outstanding as was the pho bowl with shrimp. 2 of the best dishes in Aspen. Wine list was excellent and reasonably priced.
Will definitely go back!
We were in Aspen for a week and made a reservation on Open Table. We had to take a shuttle out to the property, which would have been no big deal, except for one problem. We arrived early so we sat in the lobby and just enjoyed the view for a bit. Then we decided to go see if we could get in early....only to find out that the restaurant was CLOSED for the season! I would have expected that it would not have allowed you to make a reservation on a date when the entire restaurant was closed for the season. Although we did not complain to any of the staff, it was an extreme inconvenience for us to shuttle way out to this property just to find out that the restaurant was closed. We ended up going to the J-Bar at the Hotel Jerome and had a great night! My recommendation would be for them to be attentive to updating Open Table as to when the restaurant is actually open or closed....as this was not what I would have expected from this property.
We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary here and Zak, Stephanie, and Arthur made it very special. The Ritz champagne was an unexpected treat and the food was delious. The Ritz was a great choice for a special occasion.
The service was great!
GREAT food and wonderful ambiance. Incredible view and all around vibe. Tacos are amazing, servers were kind.
Love Willow Creek Bistro. Everyone that works there is very kind and willing to please. Kids enjoyed roasting marshmallows for hours in their fire pit after a great dinner. Feels like home.
Loved eating outside. The house salad was the best.
The flatbtead with ground elk was good but the elk taste was overwhelmed by the tomato sauce.
Great beer selection.
We had a fantastic meal and would highly recommend it to everyone. New chef is outstanding, as are all of the waitstaff. You won’t be disappointed.
Terrible service. The food took too long. The waiter never came to the table to clean out the used services or ask if we wanted to order more drinks or wine. Very disappointing for a restaurant in a hotel such as the Ritz Carlton. Do not recommend!
Need to upgrade chef. Great for burgers & meatloaf, but nothing for an elegant evening out.
Food and Service is always consistent, and bottled-wine pricing is extremely fair.
The food was really good. The operation was from Fawlty Towers-- not bad or offensive, just a little comical. So if you like John Cleese and bring your sense of humor, you will surely like this place.
Understaffed. Food arrived late and cold. Had to be sent back . Reheated and bad
Best roasted chicken in town. Zac really knows how to deliver tasty moist chicken.
Great staff and nice to see Danny the creative bartender is back
Extensive menu with unusual and healthy selections. Service was superb and food quite good. Quiet and good for conversations. Location is at the base of Highlands ski area and an attractive setting. Nice outdoor for cocktails and dining.
A great find in the Roaring Fork Valley. Free valet parking, you can avoid the traffic and parking issues in downtown Aspen, and have a great meal.
Food was good. The service was just painful. Inaccurate and SLOW. Had to ask for the check three times. Half our our party had their entrees unceremoniously pitched in the kitchen garbage bin instead of placed in a carry-out box as requested. Would not dine here again.
