Willie Mae's Scotch House was founded in 1957 and has since been featured on the Travel Channel and Food Network along with being awarded the James Beard Award for “America's Classic Restaurant for the Southern Region” in 2005. Stop by the cozy restaurant with friends and family to enjoy the famouse mixed Fried Chicken basket or choose white or dark baked chicken. Sure! Here’s a polished version of your restaurant review: ⸻ We had a great dining experience overall. Our server, Brionne (sp?), provided excellent service—friendly, attentive, and helpful throughout the meal. The fried chicken was especially tasty, perfectly seasoned and crispy. Most of the sides were enjoyable, though the macaroni and cheese was a bit of a letdown. Unfortunately, a few of the menu items we were hoping to try weren’t available, both entrees and sides. Still, despite those limitations, we left satisfied and would definitely recommend.

Service was wonderful. Ryan was very nice, offered suggestions and was super attentive. The fried chicken is the main attraction but the smothered catfish is a superstar!

We came here to celebrate our anniversary last night, and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish! From the moment we were seated, the staff made us feel so special — they even brought us two glasses of champagne to kick off the evening. Such a thoughtful touch! The food was incredible. We started with the gumbo, and wow — it was rich, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. For our main course, we both had the fried chicken with red beans, and it did not disappoint. Crispy, perfectly seasoned chicken. But the star of the night might have been the dessert — the praline bread pudding. It was warm, sweet, and absolutely outstanding. We savored every bite. The service was excellent throughout — friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. We had such an amazing experience and can’t recommend this place enough. It made our anniversary dinner truly memorable!

We go there every three months usually. As my friend says, it’s the best fried chicken in the world. The shrimp tacos I had were also very good, and so are the sides.
