We came here to celebrate our anniversary last night, and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish! From the moment we were seated, the staff made us feel so special — they even brought us two glasses of champagne to kick off the evening. Such a thoughtful touch! The food was incredible. We started with the gumbo, and wow — it was rich, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. For our main course, we both had the fried chicken with red beans, and it did not disappoint. Crispy, perfectly seasoned chicken. But the star of the night might have been the dessert — the praline bread pudding. It was warm, sweet, and absolutely outstanding. We savored every bite. The service was excellent throughout — friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. We had such an amazing experience and can’t recommend this place enough. It made our anniversary dinner truly memorable!

We go there every three months usually. As my friend says, it’s the best fried chicken in the world. The shrimp tacos I had were also very good, and so are the sides.

While in NOLA, Willie Mae’s is a MUST STOP AT restaurant. We had the fried chicken, Mac & cheese, and red beans & rice. All 3 were 3 of the best we’ve ever had. Service was great and we will recommend Willie Mae’s to all our friends & families when they visit.

We read about this place prior to leaving for our first visit to NOLA and were excited to try it for southern fried chicken. Unfortunately, this place was the worst dining experience of our trip. Way over rated and over priced. Service was bad and the seating was to close together and we had a very demanding neighbor to make the experience even worse. The chicken is nothing special, Popeyes has better chicken than this place. The fried okra was overcooked, the mac and cheese wasn’t special either, and the potato salad was just plain. We would never go back or recommend this place to anyone. Spend your money somewhere else as there’s so many wonderful places to eat in NOLA.

The fried chicken was amazing!! Even better the next day! Everything we had was truly fabulous- deviled eggs, buffalo cauliflower, the beignets!

Incredibly delicious food and the jambalaya was made with orzo not rice which was a great change of pace! My server was so friendly, made me feel very welcomed and was very attentive. Had a wonderful experience!
