My partner and I had a wonderful time at the Willard Tea Room. Deepak did such an amazing job with everything. I will definitely be back to try their fall menu!

Disappointing. Service was excellent and the variety of teas on offer was fun, but the whole offering (including the tea, properly brewed) lacked flavor. Some of the food items were clearly stale and hadn’t been checked before it was served to us. The typical savory-sweet balance wasn’t even a concern. Almost everything was sweet, also with little flavor beyond sugar. (Scones were a standout exception.) The atmosphere is very touristy, set in a highly decorated, previously unused hallway - not at all appealing to those looking for an authentic experience.

Our experience at the Willard Tea exceeded our expectations. The Peacock Room makes one feel that you are sitting in a grand hotel in Paris. Our server, Deepak, made us feel immediately welcome and made excellent suggestions concerning the choice of tea. Everything - from the savory sandwiches to the incredible scones to the pastries - was obviously created by a chef who knew flavors and textures - nothing overly sweet - flaky crusts - delicious double cream, lemon curd and delicate jams. The harpist was excellent and immediately followed our request for more classical selections. Suggestions: arrive hungry and eat slowly - you want to make it through the entire menu! This is definitely the place to take someone you wish to impress or someone you love very much. The price tag is absolutely appropriate not only for the amount of food but also the incredible skill that has gone into each item you will eat.

Everything was perfect. Worth going again. The harp player was a bit loud which took away from the experience. Don’t sit close to the harp.

This afternoon tea was excellent. The location is gorgeous of course, this hotel definitely serves as one of the most gorgeous locations for a tea. The tea room itself was actually a little plain, the pictures we got of us definitely don't hold up next to the rest of the hotel but it was still very pretty. The tea options were excellent, it was hard to choose and our server, Deepak, offered to let me try multiple. The food was some of the best and most creative I've ever had at a tea, our favorite was a little curry bite. We missed the previous season's menu by a just a bit and we were disappointed we didn't get to try the Japanese-fusion items they'd created to celebrate cherry blossom season. Apparently others weren't as excited as us about those non-standard food choices but I hope this tea room keeps up with the elevated, creative food options- if someone wants a scone and macaron they can go to literally any other tea room. :) And I can't overstate enough how excellent our service was from Deepak! He really exemplified the high standard of quality this location holds to.

Had a great afternoon tea experience at the Willard yesterday. The food was delicious, The ambiance was great and since it was a Thursday I was seated in the tea room which was mostly quiet. My server Deepak was very nice. He was very professional and attentive and contributed to the overall great experience.

Underwhelming Experience at a Premium Price. This experience fell far short of what one would expect from a proper British afternoon tea. The selection was limited, and the value simply wasn’t there—especially at over $100 per guest. Only one tea option was available, and there were no refills on the savories, which was quite disappointing. The service was unremarkable and lacked any sign of a bespoke or elevated experience. There was no effort to personalize the service or offer anything beyond the bare minimum. At this price point, guests should feel welcomed and indulged—not treated with the same level of attention you’d expect at a casual sandwich shop. I left completely unsatisfied, which should never happen with a premium experience.

Amazing experience! Our server was so kind and attentive. Only complaint was it was quite warm in there. Could have used a little air circulation. But 10/10 would go again!
