We welcome you to Willard Hicks; it is our hope that you feel right at home.
the service was less than high quality. after our 1st waiter took our order, we never saw him again. one person's salad didn't come until after the entree; requests for some condiments were slow to be granted; felt like no one person was really paying attention to our table.
This was a return trip to WH and the experience was disappointing. The food was delivered to the table cold and the service was haphazard and in some respects indifferent.
Steaks had excellent flavor, but one was not cooked as ordered. Scallop dish was very good and the restaurant has a nice vibe with great service.
First time visiting Willard Hicks and was definitely impressed. Great ambiance, the dj was amazing I ordered crab cakes and a Cesar salad the food was good. Will be back to this establishment!
We had a wonderful time at Willard Hicks celebrating a birthday. The food and service was great.
Great service. Past experience was terrible so it was wonderful to have an excellent experience with service, food and drink.
Food was great! I asked for a wine menu and waitress never brought it to me until 20 minutes into my dinner time. At that point no reason to have a glass of wine after my dinner.
Oh my! Both food and service were so impressive :)
Love their burger. It’s huge, so be sure to split it with a friend.
Great local spot that has the most amazing burger in bay area
This is one of the best restaurants, always consistent. Great service always!
Everything was top shelf. Loved it
Great food. Our server was awesome. Only strange that the appetizers were delayed and the main meal came 2 minutes after the appetizers. We had them bring back the meal so we can get through appetizers first.
They were obviously trying to rush us out the whole time
The ambiance and service was very nice. Unfortunately the food was just okay. For a place that specializes in prime meats, our meats were not cooked to what we had asked them to be. The food tasted good but I wouldn’t say it was anything special or worth going back given how much money we spent there.
Service was outstanding & the food was delicious. Warm & efficient employees.
The food was very good; we had a very enjoyable dinner. Would have given it 4 1/2 stars, but as a higher-end restaurant, expectations are also high, so no 5 stars. The steak was cooked to order, which does not happen that often when we dine out. Service was perfect. We were a little put off by the tables for two being so close to other diners - you had to focus to not be distracted by the conversations of strangers next to you. For us, this is a negative. Going out to dinner is a good chance to talk and we were conscious of our conversation being easily overheard by neighboring tables. I think the reason for not giving 5 stars for the food was that, while good and properly cooked, there was not a "Wow!" But I am sure we will go there again.
Valentines dinner with my wife and two daughters
Great place overall and fabulous steaks. A bit pricy but worth it for that special occasion. Well done Opa (I hear it’s owned by them).
Ordered signature bone-in ribeye, the meat was full of tendons and fat, less than half edible part. Our worst steak experience...
Mac n cheese, brussels sprouts were good. Creme brulle and white chocolate mouse were decent too.
Kudos for actually serving Pinot Noir in Pinot Noir glasses and not in generic red wine glasses.
It was great but their sticky chicken needs some fine tuning; either soak the chicken breast in buttermilk overnight or slice it in half then fry them so the chicken is tender. Needless to say, the chicken was a bit tough.
Parking difficult. Order the appetizers which were good. The main courses, pork chop and sticky chicken were severely over cooked. They must have been having a special on arugula because everything was covered with it. Tables are very close and conversation was difficult.
Because of the difficulty in parking anywhere on Campbell Ave you really are challenged especially if you have limited walking ability.
It was not worth the effort.
Good Ambiance, good îselection is good, metal confecționer interesting.
Great experience as always. Took our daughter here for her birthday. The drinks, appetizers and entres were really good. Crab cakes and the cornbread are great starters. Our server Jesus was fantastic. Despite our large group he was able to keep everyone happy with anything we needed.
Will definitely come back.
We've enjoyed dining at Willard Hicks several times and love the consistency in service and food quality that we receive. We brought friends who had never been before and they commented on how delicious the food was. Our waitress was excellent and when she was backed up, other staff brought out our food so we could enjoy it while it was hot. The Jalapeno Corn Bread was a group favorite and the Papardelle was fabulous (especially with a bit of crushed red pepper). We look forward to coming back and sitting outside once summer returns.
Excellent food, service and wine list. We are never disappointed.
appetizers and drinks were great! Steak was overcooked and chewy. I'd return but not for the steak.
My wife and I went to Willard Hicks on the recommendation of a friend. Unfortunately, we felt the food was overpriced for its value. Good ambiance and our waiter was great, but the food felt like it was just overpriced Chili's or Applebee's. No disrespect to those those restaurants, but if I'm paying 20%-30% more for dinner, I expect the food to be worth the price. The so-called Street Tacos were underwhelming and the house fries, while they looked like Jenga blocks, were soggy and lacked flavor. It's unfortunate the food did not live up to our expectations.
First time. My steak was cooked a perfect medium rare. Brie appetizer was delicious. Too noisy for a group to talk at a table. Even for just two people. Would go back maybe not on a Friday night for a quieter time.
We had the blackberry filet mignon and the tempura chicken. Both were excellent.
This was our first time to the restaurant. It was absolutely fantastic! The service, food, and cocktails were 5 star. I highly recommend the blackberry glazed filet minon. If your looking for an inexpensive dinner, this not the place. With that said, the prices are right for 5 star food and experience. We will definitely go again!
Service, food and ambiance was fabulous. It was my first time dinning at W&H and i will be back!
The ambiance and vibe is very good. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and seated at a very nice table. We then waited 15 minutes for a server to come to the table and acknowledge our presence. My wife and I wanted to order cocktails but there was nobody to be found. I do not like it when I go to a restaurant and I have to get up, go to the hostess and beg for service. I go to relax and be served. Our server then came to the table and asked for our order. She was very efficient and professional. The remainder of our experience was very good. The food was excellent as was our server. We spent nearly 500$ with our group of four. I would suggest a management breakdown occurred. Guest want their drink orders taken when they arrive. They do not want to chase down a server.
Great service and food! The waitress’ were wonderful!
Food and staff were great as always.
First, the food that we had was good though a little salty and the Brussels Sprouts weren’t crispy or even extra crispy as we ordered them. The issue came with the lack of service in my opinion. The waitress was sat immediately with three table. We were the first table and the redheaded stepchild of the tables. She would look at our table however she would go directly to the two booths instead of stopping at our table. This resulted in empty iced tea glasses and requesting or advising her of any wants or issues. I did tell the waitress the first time that she refilled our iced tea that I would “always” want the refilled and she commented that she liked that. Additionally she was training another waitress which in my opinion means that the new waitress was learning bad habits early on in the training. In my opinion, if you go, please make sure that you stay on top of your food tastes and waitress because it can be a very costly bad experience.
I loved the steaks and environment. Service was great. Will come back again soon #NewFavoriteSpot
Always a good time at WH! Server Kameron (Cameron?) is attentive, informative, knowledgeable.
Great meal with excellent service. The menu sounds so good it was difficult to pick only a couple items. The cocktails were great, although definitely on the sour side. Even when I asked for a sweeter suggestion the recommended drink was very sour. The other negative is the overuse of herbs such as thyme and rosemary. But I would definitely come back to try more of the menu options.
