I feel like Willa Jean lost their “It” factor. This used to be my favorite spot in New Orleans, and still has many great things going for it, however some parts were a tad disappointing :( the drinks are still as good as ever (mind you, we ordered coffee drinks and not alcoholic drinks). The food, however, was quite lackluster. I got the fried chicken biscuit and it was inedible. I think it was rubber disguised as chicken. My boyfriend insisted we trade meals after I only got one bite of my sandwich down and couldn’t go any further (we don’t like to complain!!). He also hated it lol - the biscuit was also rubbery??? My boyfriends hangover bowl was good, but I remember it being to die for a year or so ago. We also got some cookies on the way out, and I just remember them being so much better. Maybe my taste buds have changed??? I do know the chicken was actually nasty, but the rest could just be that I had unrealistic expectations. Who knows, very sad to see my favorite spot take a turn for the worst though :(
The food was wonderful, so good that we bought the cookbook! I would highly recommend eating here.
A lovely birthday brunch! Thank you!
Very nice staff! Accommodated us very fast and because we were celebrating a birthday they gave us the best table :) 10/10 I would come again!
Great food! Lots of flavors to pick from!
Quick bite to eat for breakfast. Excellent quality. Care was made to ensure safe environment. Good drinks.
Overall a good experience as usual. Just a different energy because of the necessary table spacing and minimal amount of people.
Great spot , yummy menu
I'm from Louisiana and was in NOLA for a quick trip. I decided to stop at Willa Jean for lunch. At first, I was a little unimpresseed. I ordered the pork and grits, which were good, but not anything spectacular. However, I did not order any of the appetizers, and one passed me looked exceptionally delicious. It was the desert that sent this to a 5 star review. I would return again and again to try all the deserts. Highly recommend!
Too loud and really annoying 80s music (Girls Just Wanna Have Fun) was playing over the speakers. Fried chicken was excellent.
Great food and service - will be back!
Alexa , our waitress, was on point. Very knowledgeable about menu and options. She was very attentive without being too close too often. The food was outstanding as always. Thank y’all for a wonderful breakfast.
Drinks on the online menu not available. Great food! Milk money latte didn’t disappoint.
I loved the drink that I chose but hate that the menu online didn't match the menu there. I did love the avocado toast and would get again. I loved how they could accommodate allergies.
Every single item was delicious. Super friendly and patient server. Would recommend strongly!
Good experience. My sons enjoyed it. Tabasco honey chicken biscuit was exceptional.
Nice place in safe business district. The cookies are great to go!
Food was excellent. Very busy and had reservations but the wait time was short.
Food was fresh and appealing
We dined from the Coolinary menu and everything was fantastic! Fun, relaxed atmosphere and great service. I definitely highly recommend Willa Jean!
Enjoyed the atmosphere and food. Parking close by was very affordable.
They are following all safety guidelines. The avocado toast was amazing!
We had a delicious breakfast. The avacado toast is a beautiful presentation and tasted just as good. The biscuits are not to be missed! You can't go wrong with any choices
Absolutely delicious biscuits and coffee!
Delicious breakfast in a neat area! We would definitely go back.
As always, great food and service. Felt safe dining there thanks to their safety measures.
Decided to check out the coolinary menu.. the fried oysters were so light & fresh and the aioli was the perfect compliment. Also, the fried pit hop sandwich was delicious!!!
Great service from start to finish. Masks worn and tables separated. Definitely recommend!!
Food was amazing. Great atmosphere. We will be back!
The food was amazing. The service was not. Nick was our server and he was rushing us. He also took my food Without asking and I wasn’t even finished. I needed extra time to order since I’m vegetarian and my meal is the appetizer, he kept bothering us every 10 minutes.
He made sure I remembered his name by mentioning it twice, so here you go Nick.
Love Willa Jean! Had the yummy banana bread with whipped butter. Short ribs with grits good choice for brunch.
Impressive! Food was well seasoned and quite tasty. Will put this on our place to frequent on upcoming trips.
the food was great, as always. Will come back again!
This place was amazing!! The bakery
Delicious food, awesome drinks, both beautiful and tasty. The only weird bit was that they had implemented a new system where you could pay via Qr come in the receipt and we did that- but then when we got up to leave they all ran over like we were dining and dashing which was kind annoying but id still come back
Minutes after I confirmed our res on Open Table, I got a weird phone call bluntly informing me the restaurant was closing for a couple of days with no other explanation.
Oh my goodness, that was some delicious food! We loved the cornbread and the chicken sandwich. We will definitely go back when we are in town.
First time will go back
The food was to die. The portions were too big. I would happily eat there again. Biscuits were amazing.
A bit hidden away in a residential street, but once you are in, it opens to a big garden with outside tables, a covered area in the garden and a bar and the rest of the restaurant inside. Attentive and helpful staff who fully knew the menu and daily specials, and were charming to boot! Food lovely - classic French country cooking. all beautifully executed. Extensive wine list with a good range form lower cost to high end (it has an extensive selection of Beaucastel of various vintages) as well as some unusual French regional wines ( such as from the Jura - too rarely seen) at fair prices. Can't recommend highly enough!
Incredible food and service! Highly recommend this little gem in NOLA.
