Willa jean. Loved! Our family ordered shrimp toast, pimento cheese apps, chicken sandwich and poutine. Cookies and milk topped off our evening. Every last bite was delish. Service extraordinary. Try it. You'll WiLLove it!
The food was awesome. The service was awesome. The cocktails were awesome. Had dinner before the Micheal Buble concert. Can't wait to go back for brunch.
We ate here before The Rolling Stones concert. We had a late lunch so this was an early dinner. We had appetizers for dinner and both were delicious and kept us full throughout the concert. Second time dining there in a month, highly enjoyed both experiences.
Wonderful, as always! The cornbread is a must. The crab and corn chowder is delicious.
In town for the 4th but made the reservation for a late breakfast several weeks ago after hearing about Kelly Fields recent James Beard award. We were not disappointed!! We had the Shrimp Toast which our waiter told us was his favorite dish on the menu...the cornbread snack is a must as well. We also had a croque Madam and we ordered the Mimosa bar for the table, Wow! We asked for a biscuit because we had heard they were the best! It was Beautifully laminated almost like puff pastry. Delicious...great experience all around. Looking forward to trying one of the other THREE menus...until next time Willa Jean...
Upscale take on down home southern cooking. Worth the visit.
Music is too loud
Been coming here since they opened and have consistently great food and service!
Everything was wonderful. The only concerns I had was the entree. Plating was subpar and the chips were plain old out of the bag chips. The dessert and poutine were both amazing.
Food was very tasty. The server was the only issue with this restaurant.
Everything excellent! Definitely going back! I was referred here by several people and I see why!
Really great biscuit and gravy
Terrible server experience. He treated our table as an afterthought. Loved the food though.
It was good not great . Probably better for breakfast or lunch not really impressive for dinner . Cocktails were yummy .
This was a great place!!! Unfortunately our server seemed to just be a generally unhappy person who was curt, rushed, and somewhat absent. But the ambiance and food were definitely worth a repeat ❤️
Relle was wonderful with my son, we had a perfect mommy & son cookie date.
Modern. Trendy. Delicious. I loved the pinmento cheese and Cajun tomato soup. My husband went back while I was a conference for the hangover bowl! The frozen blackberry mint julep was 💯!
This is one of our regular stops when we come to New Orleans. I had the Banana Bread, Croque Madame, and the Buttermilk Chess Pie. I’m pretty sure all of these were new since last visit. It was outstanding. And I got a fistful of WJ Cookies to go. I love coming to this place.
The food never disappoints. The cornbread is beyond compare, and salads are fresh and tasty!
Our experience at Willa Jean's was great. Our server was extremely nice and helpful. She also brought a great mocktail for my son and the "red velvet cake" dessert was delicious.
Service was excellent. Up until this point, I don’t think a host had even smiled at us in New Orleans. Coming from the Boston industry, thus far on the trip we hadn’t been deeply impressed by the level of service we had experienced. We were greeted warmly and seated at the bar (my preference). Our bartender Olivia was fab. She was super friendly, had great timing and a general good nature about her.
We each ordered a sandwich to split. Both were amazing. My friend ordered the fried chicken. Honestly, I was a little upset at her because back home I work at a fancy fried chicken joint. Fried chicken was the absolute last thing I wanted. I ended up totally envying her sandwich. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the slaw/mayo wasn’t over-powering. Some of the best I’ve ever had (don’t tell my chef).
Dessert was great, don’t skip it, this is what they’re known for.
very nice spot, creative menu, fair prices, great desserts
Our sever, Mary, was beyond excellent. She made great suggestions and was very attentive. She even went out of her way to let my partner try the soup before ordering it. All the food was excellent from the pimento cheese dip to the cookies! The BLTA hit the spot also!
First time trying Willa Jean and it was an absolutely fabulous experience from drinks, appetizers, entrees, and desserts. We were so pleased with the experience. We will be back regularly to this one.
Willa Jean for dinner is a wonderful very casual experience. Creative well prepared meal (tomato soup off the charts) but it's still a sandwich type meal. Chocolate chip cookie to end is still the defining experience.
Everything we ordered was excellent. Fast and attentive service with a nice upbeat atmosphere.
We had the avocado and shrimp toasts, they were very tasty. One of the toasts was burnt on one end though. The strawberry-lemon-lavender as delicious! Overall a good experience; very interesting and tasty food. It's just a bit pricey.
Went for a late dinner. Great atmosphere, Amy our server was very nice. Nothing was poisoned.
Wanted a break from heavier New Orleans food & booked this on a whim. Door was a pain to find as it’s not on the street address ( go around corner).
Beautiful spacious vibe inside and friendly efficient service. Seated by a window for people watching. Also helpful she let us know we could order some half sizes when we were indecisive.
This was a treat for my mom who initially thought the prices were high- but was impressed with every single item & then understood why I chose this for dinner.
Favorites were the golden beet salad, oyster soup & banana pudding.
I wish we had the stomach space to have tried even more items. Excellent & will be back. Espresso bar & pastry counter also looked freaking amazing !
Astoundingly fabulous food. Such a friendly and lovely server. So love your restaurant.
Food was awesome and the service was courteous and attentive.
Outstanding food and service staff!
The service at breakfast was terrible and non existent. Plus the food served was not totally correct and served cold. All in all the experience was very disappointing. Forget this place!
We love Willa Jean's. The service is always great. The food is incredible. Tried the toasted beet salad. It was incredible. The fried chicken sandwich, off da chain. 😃 And the desserts are yummy yummy.
The James Beard award has ensured that even as the NOLA “off season” approaches an early made reso is required to try this exceptional spot. We booked in for an earlier-than-desired 8:15am breakfast but I’m glad I opted not to hit the snooze button! The Bloody Mary was exceptional (as a Canadian nothing tops a Caesar but this was almost as good) and the food...wow. The Louisiana Crawfish Benny was simply exceptional. The signature biscuit provides the perfect platform for the generous portions of crawfish, eggs poached to perfection, and the slightly spicy hollandaise. Willa Jeans is a must.
The food is excellent
james beard awards well deserved.
beet salad delicious and crazy big – enjoyed the other half last night!
the classic grilled cheese and tomato soup was elevated to haute cuisine.
cookies and milk and banana pudding perfect closers to a marvelous experience pre-theater.
Amazing food !
Visiting from California- 8:00 a.m. breakfast reservation. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. Our waiter was clearly eager to get us out- done by 8:30 and out the door. Was expecting a little more leisurely breakfast.
Came for an early Saturday breakfast making reservations in advance. No availability after 7:15 or before 3:45. Very misleading since they were not crowded while we were there. Loved the atmosphere, was a bit underwhelmed with the food, but will try again and order something different.
