Kennett Square Mushroom Soup
White Truffle Oil, Creme Fraiche, Snipped Chives
Food was incredible, server was considerate, helpful and friendly, environment was very pleasant. Great for both a casual lunch or fancy dinner.
Fabulous food. Spicy lamb rigatoni was delicious, as was the roasted chicken. Service was a tad slow, though the server was quite pleasant. The table clearer was indifferent.
Beautiful restaurant and decor!
Seated quickly to a beautiful room.
Kelly our waitress was great, as well as servers, hostesses.
Food and drinks were incredible, esp the mushroom soup and truffle fries!
A great friendly gem to celebrate Mother’s Day!! 🌹
Mother’s Day - great food & service!
Great food and great service! Loved the outdoor seating area set up.
Delightful brunch for our first Mother's Day! They were very accommodating for our 4 month old.
Most recent visit was for Mothers Day, an annual tradition for us. With White Dog being closed most of 2020, it's been over a year since we've been able to visit.
Our reservations were for a 10am "brunch" and were very disappointed to see that their menu has been significantly pared down. The only breakfast option from the menu was eggs—no sweets like waffles, pancakes, beignets that we previously *loved*, etc. There was only 1 special for Mothers Day and it was… eggs! Crispy pork hash w/ eggs. Sounds great, but playing the same note as the rest of the menu—heavy and savory. Not great with a cup of coffee at brunch.
It will be a while until we go back again and will look for some menu updates / expanded options before making our next visit.
We celebrated our son's graduation at the White Dog in Wayne. The food and service was excellent. We chose to sit outside under the tent even though the weather was cold (still wary of dining inside). My son and I both had the filet mignon, which was great and cooked perfectly. My husband loves the lamb shank and our older son enjoyed the farm to table chicken. We also enjoyed the cheese board. The turtle brownie was scrumptious. All in all it was a wonderful meal and graduation celebration.
It would’ve been better if we were at least offered a drink when we got there. We waited a good amount of time prior to any service.
Great drinks (to the top!), wonderful service and the food was great!
Great food and service as always....will definitely be back.
The food was amazing, the double burger was so good 😊 only thing I forgot to add was bacon. I’ll make sure to do so next time!
You know you're going to like a restaurant when the host/hostesses have a personality. You may think that is a standard feature - but no, it is not. These days. They were smiling ( under their masks of course, but you could tell ) joking around while on top of their game, recognizing regular customers and just generally welcoming ! The person(s) who seated us was even happy to hear all about our dog including us sharing a picture ! Brownie points right there ! And, we heard from our server it was their first night !
Hope you like dogs. There are dogs everywhere. On the walls in all kinds of frames, big china dogs, little china dogs, in the bathrooms - whoever designed the restaurants, which also have so many other aesthetic points of interest, is TALENTED. I loved the warmth and coziness, the separate rooms - from the outside it just does not look as interesting as it does inside so it's a great surprise !
I suppose I should mention the food LOL - husband had these little sweet oysters from the west coast which he proclaimed to be excellent, and we shared the bread. You gotta have the bread, people. We had trout with a cornbread stuffing and shrimp bernaise and is their a better sauce because I don't think so, the roast chicken with butterbeans in some heavenly sauce and creme brulee for dessert. Everything was so perfectly cooked, presented, seasoned - and our waiter was wonderful.
Restaurant like this are why I love to dine out. Why I will never take the challenging hospitality industry for granted. White Dog Cafe is doing all of the things right. Thanks for a great evening !
Consistently one of my absolute favorites. They almost never let me down, the food is always great! I was very sad a few weeks ago when I went to eat at the bar and found it was now required to have a reservation. My husband was away and I got up the nerve to go out by myself only to be turned away. For some reason the hostess was a bit clueless and didn't comprehend the situation. I didn't say anything so she never knew that she caused such an emotional response. Obviously I got past it since we went there the next week for our anniversary.
Good to be back! This I has been one of my favorite restaurants since it opened years ago. This time, as always, the greeting at the front was welcoming with laughter Included. I had the special and my guest had the salmon. I started with the mushroom soup which is not on my diet, but irresistible. She had the fresh oysters. Drinks from the bar were just right. They are carefully observing Covid regulations. So, excellent food, drink and service in a warm, safe environment. Perfect experience!
Food was great. Service was good. Nice atmosphere.
This is my favorite outside eatery since Covid started!
Cheese plate was great without options. Menu was boring. Burger was always the choice.
The decor, food and service was amazing~ The prices are a bit higher but to be expected for Wayne PA
Very nice time— It took a little while for our waiter to take our drink order but Phil made up for it by being quite attentive throughout the remainder of the night.
I think their prices have skyrocketed since the pandemic. I know that previously luncheon for 2 was never close to costing just under $100 and that was with no alcohol involved. I would recommend it to others but I would caution them on the price.
Great service, generous portions and nice location.
Fun casual brunch with my BFF!
We’ve always enjoyed the White Dog. They recently changed to their spring menu so they had some new fish and dessert options, so we took advantage. The food is always fresh and delicious. So nice to be back eating at restaurants again.
Food came out all at once amd was way too heavy
We were having so much fun that we over stayed the dining time limit.
The server was nice enough but extremely busy
It took 30 minutes to take our drink order and another 20 to get the drinks
The food took a long time too
I had to get up and ask another server for water
I have been to this restaurant before and it was great but this time was not good
Great meal and wonderful atmosphere
Wonderful food. Great service. Highly recommend. Will return!
Will never go to any Fearless restaurants again. An incident of a glass breaking accidentally turned into a blame game by Manager Michael. We didn't ask for a manger and yet from the moment he approached our table he was hostile and accusatory. He further escalated the situation with inappropriate remarks which he deservedly got in return and honestly deserved much worse. A comped meal we didn't even finish is lower than the bare minimum. No apology when following up with Upper Management and Owners, "he's a new dad and under a lot of stress" . They stand by his behavior and that's the end of any future patronage.
Nice setting in outdoor covered patio. Appetizers were better than entrees. Schnitzel was very overcooked - actually tough to cut because it was fried so much. Ironically, the carrots that came with it were barely blanched. Short rib was generous portion, but the mix with pickled vegetables was jarring. Service was friendly and kind, but disjointed (lost pen, forgot the box for leftovers, needed reminders...). A torrential rain/wind storm came and we went inside to bar to have dessert (just ok) and coffee and drinks, and bartender was very kind.
Great service and good food!
Great experience. Mushroom soup and bread were delicious. Highly recommend
First time eating out since COVID19. The outdoor seating was adequately distanced and servers well masked. I have been hesitant but felt very comfortable and not at all threatened. All the other patrons very complied with mask request.
Have loved White Dog in the past and it continues to be an excellent restaurant. Food choices are varied, well prepared, and delicious. I rate it one of the best in in the area.
We had a beautiful spring day and a table on the terrace. It could not have been lovelier. Even with the parking lot and route 30 nearby the terrace seemed like an oasis of warmth. My companion and I each had the crab cake omelette and cup of mushroom soup special offering. Both were delicious.
We sat in the TREE ROOM for dinner with friends and it was wonderful! All of our martinis (we got 4 different ones) were prepared perfectly, shout out to Pat the Bartender who made my PERFECT Pear Martini! The mushroom soup is to die for and happily remains a staple item at the restaurant FOR YEARS.👍🏻😊 We shared a burger, the veal chop & the veal Milanese and all of them were yummy and cooked perfectly!
We dined there on Monday 4/26/2021
we ordered the hummus which was good but not spectacular by any means. The waiter brought an additional complementary plate of crudités.
For entrees we ordered:
a burger with fries which our son thought were good.
we had the salmon, the trout and the Mahi-mahi
So disappointing! The fish crusts were too salty, the risotto tasted like a worse version of prepackaged rice. The salmon's vegies were floating in a watery sauce. the corn bread was wet and the fish was flavorless.
The deserts were excellent. The drinks were very expensive.
The 'open outdoors' were mostly enclosed with a plastic tarp, so we did not feel safe.
I am not sure what happened to this place.
We would only come back for the desserts and coffee if they could open up the tent
Excellent as always
Extremely clean restaurant not a single piece of dust. Tuna tartare very fresh,
nice presentation, the salad with the add on chicken breast could have used a few
more "salad items ". All it had was lettuce, and cherry tomatoes. Price is on the higher end which is why I commented on the salad shortcomings. Will definitely go back, and
I should add I have been here before a few times. It's consistently 4 to 4.5 stars.
We ate under a covered tent outdoors which protected us from the wind. The tuna tartare was heavenly with some smashed avocado on top. The mahi mahi was good but not exceptional. Our eager waiter was awkwardly enthusiastic and made us a bit uncomfortable. He seemed attentive until I ordered a second glass of wine in the middle of my entree, which he didn't bring until well after I had finished my dinner. Overall, a lovely spot with good food.
