Always a pleasure dining at White Dog! Our server was wonderful, but I do wish our meals hadn't been delivered while we were still working on our apps. That is my only complaint. Food was excellent. Ambiance is upscale yet relaxed and a little bit quirky. Noise level is pretty good. Highly recommend!
This is a regular spot for us because the food is always delicious and the atmosphere is beautiful. A special place.
Always wonderful. White Dog has such a warm and friendly feel and the staff cannot be nicer.
Always a great experience. Brunch was fabulous. Bottomless drinks for $18 were very reasonable and tasty! Chicken and waffles was off the charts.
My son and I went for brunch yesterday. He ordered the steak and eggs, I ordered the Turkey club. This was one of the few times that my son didn't add salt and pepper to his eggs; which says a lot. The Turkey club was so delicious. My waitress, Stephanie (I think) was very friendly, kind and attentive - even though it was a busy morning. The manager, Ed came over to greet my son and I, which added to the experience. I can't wait to go back.
This is an exceptional food and venue experience that I recommend to all discerning foodies. From the service to the quality and presentation of the meal this is well worth the visit.
Good very good. Restaurant is very loud. And the tables are very very close together. But if you go on an off time I’m sure the food is just as good and I would definitely recommend this for a dining experience if you don’t mind loud close tables
Food was disappointingly poor. Quality of octopus appetizer was very poor and presentation was worse. Entree (salmon and duck) also poor. Definitely not commensurate with price. Mixed drinks also disappointing. Also, we were seated a full 40 minutes after our reservation.
Great night out with friends. Lovely.
We came for happy hour in the bar since it is one of the best happy hours in the area! The ambiance and service is fabulous!! Drink specials are amazing and many of the food choices are too. This time, I felt like some of our apps were missing something (mushroom flatbread, carrot hummus) but maybe that is me. Oysters, fries, tuna tartare, sliders have all been spot on! Will definitely come back!
Went for lunch. Both ordered the special which was a take on an Italian pork sandwich with broccoli rabe. Bread and sandwich were good. They forgot the cheese and brought out some Parmesan to sprinkle on. Not quite the same. Very busy and chef didn’t seem too concerned about a missing ingredient. Truffle fries were amazing. We ll try again
waitress was excellent, food was very good and it was quiet
Took a friend who has never been to the a White Dog . She loved it
AMAZING attention to detail was given as we celebrated a very special wedding anniversary!
The ENTIRE staff made our visit special- from the hostess to the bartender to waitress to the chef- SUPERB!
Delish. Great spot.
The brunch food was great. Good coffee, excellent tartare and salads. We arrive 20 minutes early for a reservation and the host was not yet able to seat us. We opted for two seats at the bar. The bartender/waitress was cool. Never told us her name, really checked on us, we had to ask her to take her order, ask her for a coffee refill come ask for the check. The food runners were nice and knowledgeable.
Galentines day brunch
Fantastic as usual
The restaurant was totally booked at an earlier time, which is really what we wanted, but we figured...worth the wait, having been to a White Dog Cafe near U Penn, which was terrific! So we took a late reservation at 8:30 pm. We called in advance to make sure that perhaps we could come early, maybe a no show...or a cancellation...but assured that 8:30 would be our only option. We showed about 8:15 but we were not seated until 9:00pm. Great apologies, but we were simply starving by that point. Multiple large parties seemed to dominate the room where we were seated, which then meant another 10-15 minutes until we were asked about what we would like to drink... It was a bit disappointing. On the bright side, the waiter was sweet and the food was terrific. Just underwhelmed with the overall result.
Great service and Great Food.
Thank you for a wonderful night
Food was good and out server was really great. It’s a very expensive place for dinner. $33 for four scallops is a bit much. Tuna tartare was excellent.
Had a table in the bar next to the waters stand and front door. The made up for it with free desert. We still had a good time. Food was very good.
We had an amazing time at dinner the other night celebrating Valentine's day. We always have a great time at White Dog and can't wait for our next visit!
We went to the White Dog in Haverford last year for Valentine's day dinner.
This...was over the top in all aspects.
We have made going to White Dog a new Valentine’s tradition and are always very pleased! Upon entering we loved how we were greeted with the dog bushes with their Valentine collars ❤️ We were seated promptly in the sunroom, located near the kitchen. When we were first seated it was still light outside but quickly got dark. How that room went from light to a romantic glow of lights made our dinner more enjoyable. Our server was excellent, mannerly and had such a positive disposition! The meal was outstanding as always and the banana cake was out of this world. We enjoyed our evening very much and look forward to next Valentine’s Day! Our table was perfect, in the corner, out of the way and very cozy.
Always a great dining experience!!! The Cheddar Burger with fries is amazing.
Kind of a pre-Valentine dinner. Had a nice local bourbon on the rocks, then we split a beet salad. My wife had the pork osso bucco, which was a large flavorful shank cooked 24 hours and fell off the bone with polenta and root vegetables. I had a filet special that was described as having a lot of cheese and vegetables. There was just a few chunks of cheese, the filet was good but not as flavorful as I’d hoped. A lot of food so we skipped dessert. Service and atmosphere is always first rate here.
So delicious!! Our waitress was a delight.
We shared the Brussels and sweet potato’s and they were amazing. We wanted to lick the plate. Salads were fresh and yummy. Will come again if we are in the area for sure.
Very nice experience. Greeted warmly and professionally at front desk, lovely table, good service and fun menu.
The ambiance and decorating is a delight! The different rooms each have their own warmth which always makes it a pleasant dining experience. Food is very good with healthy options, which is very important. The only thing I would change is perhaps reducing the price per glass of wine. It can be a bit pricey.
Compared with the White Dog in Haverford, this one is more crowded and noisy. Menu quite similar. Food is good but service was terrible - some items forgotten (toast for two diners), wrong omelet brought to table (serving a bacon containing omelet to an announced vegetarian is poor form) and it took an inordinate amount of time to correct these mistakes. Management was aware and brought a complementary mushroom soup during the 20 minutes it took to make a cheese omelet as originally ordered by the vegetarian, but everyone else at the table was done by the time it arrived. If we want White Dog we will go to Haverford.
Went there for brunch at 10:30 on Sunday. Was quite crowded; make sure to have a reservation. Interesting brunch menu. Coffee was very good.
We always have an excellent meal here. On our most recent visit, Amanda was our server. She was excellent. She answered all our questions and checked in on us frequently. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the excellent service!
The noise level was louder than usual. It was hard to have a conversation. It may have been where we were seated.
First time there. We loved the food, drinks & our waiter.
2/19/2020 Update: So the manager reached out to me to rectify the situation. I'm looking forward to another brunch/lunch soon.
So, this is one of my favorite spots for happy hour, dinner and Saturday brunch (bottomless mimosas). This past Saturday one of my girlfriends and I went for brunch. We stayed until 2:30 so I could order the Lamb Bolognese (my favorite dish there) to take home for my 13 year old son (he loves it too). When my son opened the box to put the food on a plate, he found a hair in the food. Since it was a "To Go" order, there was no possibility the hair was mine. I did not feel like driving back 45 minutes to get another order. Extremely disappointing.
Our food should have been warmer!
We went to The White Dog in Wayne for brunch. Our server was terrific, the ambiance is lovely. Sadly, our eggs Benedict were not hot, and just about warm. We needed to be somewhere after brunch so we did. not have the time to send our food back, and wait for another choice. We were very disappointed in our brunch.
Had to wait about 15 minutes for our table to be ready, but after that, meal/service and everything were fantastic! We’ll definitely go back.
Time for a new menu!!
Met friends for a long lunch. Three of them ordered the turkey club and it was just ok. The mushroom soup was just warm not hot and a very small cup. I had the crab cake sliders and they were good with the fries which were excellent. The crab salad my friend said was good and the fried chicken sandwich was good.
It was an expensive lunch, our share was $62 and only 2 of us had a glass of wine. Three of us had coffee and one desert .
I didn’t feel the food was that terrific to warrant the price.
Our server though was just wonderful!!! She was pleasant and efficient and very patient.
Went for brunch and it was delightful. Food was great. Loved the ambience. Definitely will go back.
