Outstanding food. Great ambiance. Always enjoyable.
You will never get a bad meal at White Dog. Super friendly Servers. We come often but this was the first time on a Sunday Evening. Much quieter than Friday or Saturday Night.
I had requested a quiet romantic table for our anniversary, and we got the perfect table! We were also given a lovely card wishing us a happy anniversary. And even our dessert had “happy anniversary” written on it. Just a magical evening!!!!!!
Always enjoyed the White Dog on Samson St. The room that we were in was cozy and cleverly decorated that brought the downtown ambiance to mind. Interesting, unique choices on the menu. Ispecially loved my doggie cookie jar and milk!
Food was amazing as always - bananas foster french toast and eggs Benedict ! Sat on the patio which is lovely. Service was ok- server forgot to bring sugar and coffee ended up getting cold but it was replaced. Took a while to get our order taken. Otherwise had a great experience.
Always a pleasure to dine at this establishment. From the outside, you’d never expect the beautiful and charming interior, each room so different and unique. The menu is always full of great choices, and the food, when it comes, never disappoints. The tastings that are offered are always lovely, too. Loved our server, Ken, who was helpful without being pushy. All in all, a can’t-miss experience.
The food and ambience were very nice! Perfect to celebrate my Daughters graduation!
As always, terrific
Great Vegan and vegetarian menu.
Highly recommend service
The food, presentation and service were all excellent. Highly recommended!
Very average. Spicy Lamb bolognese was extremely bland.
Food was great, but service was slow. Our waiter was attentive when he was being attentive, but there was too much time in-between. Our empty plates sat for quite some time before being cleared. Water glasses were empty...etc.
We were celebrating Mother’s Day and the service was outstanding. The food selections were great along with our individual selections of drinks. Love White Dog and their entire staff.
We had a wonderful Mother’s Day at the White Dog Cafe. The food was great, our server was top notch, and the decor is always great. Couldn’t have been better!
My family of four have made White Dog Cafe in Wayne a Mother's Day tradition for many years. We always love the menu and the ambiance of the restaurant. Service is always friendly and attentive to the requests of the table which means the staffing is appropriate for a very busy day. We prefer dining outside but that was not practical on a very rainy day. Because we know this is a very popular restaurant, we make sure to have our reservations for Mother's Day in early.
Our server was terrific, avocado blt was ok, fries terrific, dessert (fig tart with coconut ice cream) not so good. Great atmosphere in the last lightly colored room with Great Wall accents.
Perfect spot for a Mother's Day Brunch. Food was excellent as was the service. One of my favorite spots, will definitely be back.
We took my mom for mother’s day! Making reservations was super easy, and they called to confirm a few days ahead of time. Although it was just a few of us there were many families with young children, but the noise level and experience was pleasant and enjoyable! The waitress could answer all of our questions, service was readily available, courteous, and personable. Would definitely dine here again!
Have eaten at White a dog repeatedly over the years and always been satisfied. On this evening, the “fun” started when we asked for sparking water instead of tap and were told that they could only provide club soda from the bar. Okay, this is not the first time a restaurant has run out of something. Then we ordered. The food was tasteless, cold and the rice was over cooked. The meal was terrible. I doubt I will eat there again.
Everything was great!
As always, White Dog was great!! Went to dinner for my birthday....and they did NOT disappoint!
I have many food intolerances, allergies, and they always accommodate me really well.
The waiter, Alex, was excellent with communicating with the chef about what I can and cannot eat.
The food was excellent....grilled perfectly, and really tasty! My husband enjoyed also.
(As always, too, Ed the manager, is always so kind..........) I HIGHLY recommend White Dog.......
Mothers Day. Our server Lindsey was very good and did a great job of explaining the menu choices. The service was quick and the food was fantastic. We always have a great meal here.
We recently celebrated our daughter’s college graduation and had a large party which included a food allergy complexity. The service was superb and the attention and focus to the food allergy gave us great price of mind through out the dinner! The food was amazing and everyone in our party enjoyed themselves!!!
So... brunch at the White Dog. It’s like a weekend requirement in our household. First off - you can have an amazing pork belly fried rice for breakfast. And bourbon with it. What more do you need?
That’s what I was thinking when we were in on Sunday... but in true White Dog fashion, they threw me a curveball with a delicious short rib omelet special.
I actually caught this one on camera. It was so good.... I would probably eat it every weekend if it ever made the regular menu. Bonus - omelets with side salads are a perfect breakfast.
The boyfriend and I both had it and 10/10, would do again.
If you see it make a guest appearance again - just remember: you want that.
And an extra footnote: we had a new server, and she was so great.
It’s one of the things (besides the food!) that makes the White Dog awesome. They hire really well, and it makes the place really special.
Over the past several months that we’ve been coming to the White Dog, the trout is the one thing on the dinner menu that I keep wanting to try... but for some reason, something else always ends up on my plate instead. (Hard to resist those giant shrimp and grits... 🤷🏻♀️)
So finally, finally ordered it the other night and now I’m just mad at myself that I haven’t been doing that this whole time.
The trout itself is very good - and it’s one of the only white fish I really seek out. But - that salad that comes with it really makes the meal. And I don’t think I’ve ever come close to saying that about a salad, ever.
The crispy shoestring potatoes on top are perfect. Whatever is underneath (might be the celery root purée) end up doubling as complement to the trout and a salad dressing of sorts. I don’t know how to fully describe that, other than, it might be my new favorite.
Boyfriend had the corned beef & cabbage, which has been his go-to lately, along with that wonderful date tart for dessert.
If you want one other recommendation: if you like potatoes, cheese, and prosciutto, potato cakes are a definite “don’t skip”. They’re so delicious, I’m always tempted to order them just for myself.
I dove right in and got exactly zero pictures of this meal. Will probably have my “old millennial” card revoked as a result. #worthit
Great food, fabulous service. Dessert was amazing!!!
Always amazing. Always. This is my favorite restaurant in the area.
Excellent service is an art and a science; Everyone who appeared at our table exercised the best of both. Birthday dinner celebrations invite joy, reflection, laughter and aspirational talk; we felt beautifully ensconced in the ease, comfort and ambiance of our nook to be able to relax into a memorable evening. The respectful and inobtrusive (yet attentive) professionals who appeared at the perfect moments have the best interests of a dinner party in mind. We thank each individual for the gracious greeting, gentle presence, for the outstanding meals and for the thoughtful welcome. -Mary, Chris and Katherine
We always enjoy White Dog and bring guests whenever they visit from out of town. Brunch on Sunday was great! The mushroom soup and burger are our absolute favorites and go-tos.
We were celebrating a sad anniversary. 10 years since a friend’s son passed away by suicide. But we really enjoyed our time at the White Dog Cafe!
My husband and I celebrated our one year anniversary by going to brunch here last Saturday. Not only was the food so delicious, but the service was also exceptional! We were wished a happy anniversary upon checking in at the host stand and then we were brought to our table that was right next to one of the windows, away from larger parties. The table had a very nice, handwritten anniversary card on it, too! The decor in this restaurant is so cute, elegant, and chic. We loved all of the pictures of the dogs! There were several larger parties, but it wasn’t too loud or crowded feeling. We started with the hummus and it was simply outstanding. We opted to go with the Saturday brunch special of bottomless brunch drinks. We started with a mimosa for my husband and the red sangria for me. Both drinks were very tasty! For our entrees, my husband got the bacon, egg, and cheese on a biscuit and I got the fried chicken eggs Benedict. Both dishes were to die for. They were very decent sized portions and both had so much flavor. We finished our meal with the cookie jar desert and two espressos. Not only is the presentation clever and adorable, but the cookies are SO good! When our server took the lid off of the jar, we instantly smelled fresh baked cookies. The lemon ones were my favorite! Our server was so professional, not overbearing, timely, and knowledgeable of the menu. Thank you, White Dog Cafe, for making our first anniversary so special! We had an absolutely pleasurable experience and will definitely be back!
It is nice to know that this restaurant has not changed. It is on of our favorite places to eat. The food is always excellent no matter what we have ordered and the service is great too.
My husbands Fish piece was so small and plate covered in rice and mixture of vegetables looked like goulash.
I have been here many times and this was not good
My trout was good amount little bland sauce. Truffle fries with my sons burger is always a hit!
Our waiter was named Phil and he was wonderful. Great service, walked us through the menu. Can’t wait to come back.
The valet boys could use a tune up on customer service.
I thought the food over priced
French fries were burnt and soggy
A noticeable slippage in the quality, flavor, preparation, and amount of food served. Having been a faithful customer for many years the difference in their most standard dishes was noticed by all. This is not a good sign.
We had our anniversary dinner there and the service was great!
A perfect dinner! Shrimp appetizers were generous in size and I wanted to lick my plate after I devoured the scallops.
Sangria and food was delicious! The interior design was eclectic. Will eat here again!
