Good and service were great.
My guest really appreciated the birthday wishes with a rub off for next time she dines here!
We were seated a half hour after our reservation. My sandwich was mediocre at best.
Great decor. All kinds of people. Families. Dates. Older younger.
Not the city yet table was on top of neighbor.
EC oysters skip.
I don’t like pierogi. Can’t probably spell pierogi. I loved these pierogies.
Entrees good. Meatloaf and branzino.
Shockingly bad frites. I had them at their other cafe and they were phenomenal.
Service seemed overwhelmed.
Every time I've been to any of the White Dog locations, it has been a wonderful meal. The kitchen is fantastic, the staff are amazing, and the locatione are super convenient (and cozy).
Good food, service and decor is fun. Have been several times.
Wonderful way to have lunch with a grandchild.
Loved the pear/kale salad with salmon. Always a lovely lunch spot. Will be back!
Went here on my lunch break to celebrate my husbands birthday! We had a blast! Our server was friendly and attentive, our food was well seasoned, fresh, and flavorful. We had a lovely dessert and the mocktails were fun! I would definitely come back!
Food is always fresh and delicious . Can’t remember our server’s name . She was fantastic. I keep going back and always will.
Our server, Daniel, was incredibly warm and welcoming and did a wonderful job
Lovely restaurant but food prices high for suburb. Food very tasty but small portions.
Came in for supper on a Monday night and enjoyed a half price bottle of wine. Food, as always was delicious. Always a nice place to have supper.
Always reliable. Good food. Good service. Very attractive atmosphere. A neighborhood gem!!
i made my reservation through open table specified a booth in bar area. got there on time did not have a booth available waited a 1.2 hour and had to sit at bar. not pleased
The food was delicious and came to the table in a reasonable amount of time. Our server was attentive and friendly, keeping an eye on what we needed without hovering. And the quirky, "Alice-in-Wonderland" ambiance is most of the reason my friends and I keep coming back. An excellent brunch spot, both downtown and on the Main Line!
Mentioned it was my husbands bday when I made reservation. When we arrived everyone we came into contact with knew and wished him happy birthday. Tuna tartare is unbelievably great. Scallops were delish.
Our favorite restaurant. We usually ask for Erica, but she was not working the evening of our visit. Dan was our server and he was excellent. He was very attentive and made many suggestions, of which we ordered. (Barramundi fish special and meatloaf were excellent. Pirogi appetizer was also excellent). We even made room for the best dessert we had at white dog - peanut butter crunch bar!
I MADE A RESERVATION ON OPEN TABLE LAST WEEK AND ASKED FOR A BOOTH ON SUNDAY NOVEMBER 5TH . NO PROBLEM GOT THERE TODAY AND THERE WAS NO BOOTH RESERVED FOR ME AND MY GUEST, STOOD OVER 1/2 HOUR AND NO BOOTH OPENED, ENDED UP EATING AT THE BAR. IF YOU CAN'T RESERVE THE BOOTH FOR ME THEN TELL ME SO. NOT PLEASED.
Pleasant, Professional, and Perfection all describe our dinner at White Dog Café in Haverford on a Friday night. The ambiance always puts one in a cheerful mood, as do the creative concoctions of cocktails that greeted us at the bar, because we arrived early for our reservation. I'm thrilled to see a drink with St. Germain, so it was an easy pick for me. Hubby enjoyed a fine glass of whiskey. Moving on to dinner itself, I was tormented having to choose but ONE appetizer, because I wanted to save room for dessert! We opted for the incredible and always changing deviled eggs, love the protein. Hubby also had the butternut squash bisque soup- served with the vegetables and seasoning in the bowl, our server, Nicole, poured the soup into his dish, piping hot. You could not ask for a better presentation. For dinner, my divine choice was the butternut squash ravioli-- beyond words it was heavenly, creamy, slightly sweet, just perfectly prepared. Hubby had the pot roast, moist, robust, he could not have been happier. And, the cream brulee was crispy on the top, rice puddingy on the bottom. It was worth every calorie! I highly recommend the unusual, friendly, fabulous White Dogs-- they are terrific.
Wonderful dinner, great service, lovely setting. Would recommend highly
We love white dog!!! And everyone there! The cauliflower is mouth watering! The Staff is something special, see you soon.
The servers were great!
Good choice for brunch anyday but especially for New Years for their pajama party.
My husband and I frequent White Dog Haverford as our go to restaurant. We chose a late (9 pm) reservation for NYEve hoping that the main crush would have been seated by the time we arrived. I appears we were correct. It seems that it didn't help our cause with either service or food. I ordered a very expensive glass of chardonnay and because of the price, requested of our server to ask the bartender (I noted when waiting for our table that the bar was not overly crowded) that if the bottle was not fresh to please open a new bottle. I'm familiar with this particular wine. The glass that was served to me was worse that the worse house wine that was sitting opened for three days and had turned. Our server didn't return to inquirer if the wine was satisfactory and after our starters were finished, my husband had to call her over to get her attention. She gave us a snappy retort that the bar tender told her it was a fresh bottle and what else did we want. We sat there and watched as a different server passed by twice with our entrees and try to serve them to a different table. Our starters were still on our small table and the entrees wouldn't have fit anyway. By the time he figured out where to bring the food, it was cold. I ordered the crab cake special. The sauce was so over salted it made the entire dish inedible. I could write this off as New Years Eve and a late night, however a restaurant of this caliber and at these prices makes it difficult to accept at any level these blunders. My husband considers their hamburger the best on the Main Line and loves their truffle fries. So I guess at some point we will try again.
Food not exceptional.
Just ok. Prefer lunch fare or happy hour rather than dinner for the value. Some good appetizers like the salmon latkes, good mushroom soup and omelet.
Dissapointed on New Years. Food was mediocre.
I love this spot for date night with the fiancé. The dishes and drinks rotate often enough, and everything ordered tastes delicious. I highly recommend giving it a try.
New Year's Eve early dinner and the experience was awesome. Our server Olivia is the best on every level. We adored her.
We have been toWhite Dog in Haverford many times, and it touches all of the bases for us. Consistently good food, good and caring service; good atmosphere. Easy to make reservations. Front desk is friendly and efficient. Parking plentiful what else could we want.
the meatloaf was very salty and very old and dry
the brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes were very good
the latkes were bad
This is the quintessential Main Line restaurant. I went here for brunch on Sunday and it was packed. Definitely make a reservation before coming. The service was a bit slow in the beginning but it quickly picked up and we were absolutely fine. I ordered the mushroom soup, which is a must if you are going to White Dog. I had the BLT which was delicious and the portions were fine. They do have a bottomless brunch drink special for $18.00 per person I believe and you can order any mix of a mimosa, bloody mary, screwdriver and greyhound which is nice (if you can drink that much). I always recommend this place to friends. You won't be disappointed.
We were there for Sunday brunch. The hostesses were great and our waiter did his best and was attentive but the food was not up to the price. My salmon Benedict was ok, but I have had better... it was too salty and the muffin was chewy like it had been under the lights a while. My husband had the Farmer’s plate and a) bacon was raw b) potatoes were doused in garlic and c) he asked for sourdough instead of whole wheat, but English muffin arrived dry and stale. We reported it and the plate was replaced with essentially the same thing except a plate of quite fine sourdough bread arrived. It is a loud space so be prepared. I think they had oversold and probably exceeded the capacity of the kitchen. The waitstaff all did their best, but the product was not worth their efforts that day,
Server was fairly attentive and somewhat helpful with menu. The mahi-mahi dish was excellent but the chef special —crab cake dish was cold when it was served. The staff attempted to correct but clear that it was just microwaved and affected overall taste etc. nice dining room but had to wait for a table even though we had open table reservation. Would try again but mixed review
Top service and food
Glad we had reservations. Service was very good and food was also good. Tables are close and sometimes makes conversation a challenge. Understanding that, I would wait for a booth.
Lunch with friends to celebrate the holidays. Our server was cordial, capable, and helpful. The ambience is cozy, trendy, and fun. The restaurant was full with mostly women having lunch together. The food was original, good, and large portions. We had a nice time in a convivial atmosphere and would return again.
Great service. Love the food here. Very consistent and tasty.
Excellent! Chicken quesadilla and side soup: chunks of fresh locally sourced chicken- just right amount of cheese. Fresh home made pico de gallo and guacamole. butternut squash soup with a hint of maple syrup- yummy. Fabulous presentation. Upbeat and cozy atmosphere. Food came out at same time. Stellar service.
The food was very good. Service ok. After each course arrived waited a very long time for silver ware to be brought. 2 x had to seek out any staff member to request forks to be able to eat.
Food was very good. Seating was very uncomfortable, chairs so low the table was at mid chest level, table legs made getting in and out an athletic challenge. Would try a different room next time, food would be worth another try.
