Don’t forget your cowboy hat for this wild, family-friendly ride. Load up in the gondola and head up to the top of Thunderhead Lodge. Bite into mouthwatering BBQ and after you enjoy a delicious dessert, you and the family will dance to a local Steamboat band. This is a toe-tapping, BBQ-loving, dance-friendly Steamboat experience you won’t want to miss. This event is fun for all ages.
If you are joining other groups and want to be seated together, please call us or let the reservationist know. Reservation time is the time you board the gondola. Credit card requirement is only to hold the reservation- we will not have access to this information to close out your bill. When we showed up for our 6pm reservation on March 28, the Steamboat Gondola wasn’t running. When I finally got ahold of the dining reservations team, they informed us the Western BBQ had not been running for a few weeks. They acted like it was our fault we were able to make a reservation instead of being apologetic about the confusion. They were supposed to call me back with alternative options and an explanation, but I never heard back. We were left standing in the rain at the base of the closed gondola, trying to figure out where to take our kids for dinner.

The staff at Western BBQ is great, our server Mark was great,the manager Geoffi s super. The band was great. They accommodated a food need for kids and I think that was really kind. This has been around for a lot of years and is still great family place to eat on the mountain.

The final Western BBQ of the season was such fun! The wait staff was top notch and the Buffett had many choices. It would have been nice to have perhaps a cheese and cracker hors d’ouevres platter for some pre meal enjoyment. The beverage list was great and the music was fabulous!

Great night. Delicious buffet, with something for everyone and fantastic Western band. Please keep this dining option at Steamboat.

Fun for the family! Food was amazing. Kids loved the gondola ride and dancing. We’ll be back again next year.

Great experience for the family. Food was a little disappointing but there was lots of it. The views and the band were great. Just a little pricey for the food quality.

Everything was wonderful. Best thing hands down was the Tri-tip with whiskey sauce. Jacob was the best! One recommendation is to have Mac and cheese without green chilies for the kids. It was too spicy for them.

Everything was good about the food and the general event. Unfortunatly one of us got sick on the salmon that night.
