West Main Crafting Co.
West Main has whatever cocktail you need: high-quality basics, or imaginative creations you would never think up on your and couldn’t make at home. The food menu is somewhat short, but still plenty sufficient, with locavore and vegan options. This is the only restaurant in Kentucky that has excited me enough to warrant more than five visits.
This was a truly enjoyable experience from the waiting staff to the charcuterie and finally the main course. My wife had duck breast and I had the halibut special which were both outstanding and creative. We took dessert home which were also excellent. The room was quiet and private. For a bar that prides itself on its cocktail menu, the dinner was quite a pleasant surprise !👍👍👍👍😋
Whole meal experience was very lovely. We were only visiting the area for the night and know next to nothing about Lexington. West main happened to be a few steps from our hotel. Very happy with everything! Definitely try the hickory smash.
Way too boujee. Not friendly for groups, overpriced, and not worth your value, with mediocre at best cocktails. For starters, if you have a group of six or more, you are sitting at high top tables with stools. It is dark, really dark. They need some additional lighting for the bar area. Multiple people in our group needed to use their phones to see the menu. The food is very very good but well overpriced for the portion sizes.
To anyone looking for a good dinner and cocktails in Kentucky, I'd recommend Middlefork, OBC Kitchen, or Carson's over this wannabe.
Sat at the bar as it is fun to watch them prepare the specialty cocktails. Highly recommend.
We had an awesome time. Only small glitch in the evening was there was only one bartender which made bar service slow. Our server, Tyler was amazing. He was very knowledgeable and fun.
The food, drinks, ambiance and service were exceptional. The chef was receptive to limiting salt where h could for a friend who is salt intolerant. We’ll be back!
Great service and fun drink menu. So many options. Food menu is not extensive but very high quality.
A very classy and intimate place. The craft cocktails are AMAZING, some of the best I have ever had. I would say its on par with "Japps" in Cincinnati. Food was excellent. A limited menu but interesting choices that are well made. I do highly rate this place for its ambiance, cool without being pretentious.
Great food and service! Definitely going back! Has best original drinks and cocktails in Lexington.
Amazing cocktail selection and the food was outstanding.
West Main crafting was okay, not great. First we made reservations and were sat at a high top, community table
The stools were uncomfortable and we add to hear the annoying conversation of other diners. So for this price point, I expect better. The food was okay. The only positive of the experience was our server was attentive and nice. Overall, there are better restaurants in Lexington with a better atmosphere.
Hello, We're so sorry your experience was less than extraordinary. We assign our reservations to tables based on their explicit requests as well as offering priority to those who made their reservations first. Please accept our apologies that your seating arrangement wasn't ideal. We are so thankful for your kind words about your service; we work hard to make sure everyone feels they've been well attended. Thank you for your feedback, and we do hope to see you again.
Excellent service. Both the host and our waiter spent an amazing amount of time answering our questions and interacting with us on a very busy night. The food was excellent although I thought extremely small portions. The drinks are the real reason to go here though and everyone should order a cocktail.
We went restaurant week and the scallops were delicious!!
Excellent food and cocktails. Wished they had more options for vegan/vegetarian eaters.
Creative and delicious cocktails. Outstanding service and great food.
Great place. Their craft cocktails are on point!
Drinks and service outstanding.
One dish a bit heavy on salt however, all the food tasty.
Amazing food!!! Can’t say enough about the menu and the wonderful food.
Fabulous food, impeccable service, perfectly crafted cocktails. Will definitely return -and soon!
We made early reservations because we were walking to the Opera House for West Side Story. Our server, Tiffany was doing her last night of training but she clearly didn’t need any more. Tiffany thoroughly and charmingly described the concept and selections. It was hard to choose, but we chose well. The panzanella salad and mushroom bruschetta starters were amazing. Our entrees were also amazing-beef tenderloin cooked MR to perfection and the lamb sausages over couscous and veggies. Ingredients are locally sourced and so fresh. The stars of this show are the cocktails. I loved the pisco punch. Was tempted to try cocktail flight, but our theatre beconned. We did allow for dessert-pavlova which was unique, delicious and not too filling when shared. We will definitely return and ask for Tiffany!
Great atmosphere and drink selection. Very small food menu with not many options and very pricey.
Such a cozy place! The prettiest bar in Lexington, along with the best food, makes this one of Lexington's places to go!
There was a wide variety of interesting cocktails that were very well made and presented. The food was fresh and delicious. I would highly recommend a visit if you are in downtown Lexington.
My first experience at the restaurant- it was FANTASTIC! From the reception, to the service, to the food and drinks. Everything was GREAT! Our server, Shi, was AMAZING! She was very knowledgeable, and went out of her way to accommodate us. As one can only eat so much, I can’t wait to go back. There was not a single thing that we tried that we did not like- both cocktails and food.
This is my favorite place in Lexington, and it serves some of my favorite cocktails in the world. The drinks menu is astounding (especially if you like absinthe). The food menu is short but filled with great options (including vegan). My husband and I have a pact to come here at least once a month as long as we and it survive.
I enjoyed the knowledgeable friendly wait staff, the variety of absinthes, the atmosphere, and the food was delicious. However, be wary of portion sizes shown on the menu as some meal items are rather small.
Our server Austin recommended both food & drinks that were amazing!! We would highly recommend this place!! We will definitely go back!!
Great food! High top tables stools a little uncomfortable for a long dinner.
Incredible ambiance with lots of seating options - bar, high top, table, or comfy lounge chairs. Cocktail menu is expansive with lots of approachable standards (white oak fashioned, hickory sour, Hemingway daiquiri, a gorgeous gin and tonic on tap) and some more "challenging" concoctions for the more adventurous (like the green curry fiz, tom yum, and birds eye smash from the most recent "Thailand" menu). Service is both informed and down to earth; they seem genuinely interested in the guest experience. Don't sleep on the food either - everything is local and delicious, with daily veggie, pork, and salad options keeping things interesting, and a rotating dessert menu from their in-house pastry chef. The chicken two ways and the filet are my current favorite dishes and easily the best values around.
Extremely small menu. Our party of four each ordered a different entree and no one was happy with their selection - we literally ordered a pizza when we left. The drinks were also very sub-par. The place was almost completely empty. Would not recommend!
Excellent. Food, cocktails, and service were on point.
It was our first time, we really loved it. Tried the Hickory Sour and an Absinthe Flight, along with Lamb Sausage and Primavera Vegetables. Would like to go again to try more of their very interesting cocktails. The ambiance was nice, seating was comfortable and beautiful.
Sit at the bar! the staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. Everything is beautiful and delicious.
West Main Crafting co. Offered very creative cocktails and food, but creativity is not always synonymous with excellent taste. The atmosphere was very modern and wait staff provided very friendly and informed service. Though the food and drinks were good, I will likely not return based on value.
Outstanding cocktails, meal and service at West Main Crafting Company in Lexington. Starting with delicious cocktails, Bloody Mary and Kentucky Mule, and continuing through a precisely prepared and scrumptious Charcuterie, my wife and I were pleased with our decision to dine downtown Lexington. Our entrees, Mushroom Scrapple and Aged Rib Eye were well prepared, succulent and the accompanying sauces and vegetables were perfect as Farm to Table can be.
This was a journey to excellence, conducted by our server Sarah who was as thrilled to be there as we were. Thanks to the owners, management and staff for creating lovely ambience, uniquely crafted cocktails and scrumptious farm fresh meals. We loved it!
Hidden gem with great ambiance, wonderful unique handmade cocktails & amazingly delicious dinner entrees.
We went in to try the large format Julep for Derby Week, and were not disappointed. The care and attention to detail for even "standard" cocktails is obvious. Pro Tip: If you are in the mood for food, do not overlook the daily veggie special or the daily pork special from the whole hog program.
Cocktail menu is very diverse and interesting. All of the cocktails we ordered were well crafted and excellent. Wait staff provided great guidance regarding selections. Food was good but mostly typical fair, not as enticing as the cocktails
