   Food was okay. Waiter was nice, but he took the wrong order. The food took close to 30 min to come, and we were hesitant to reorder. Reorder came out faster (10 min). Breakfast Potatoes were overcooked and dry. Meat on steak and egg tacos were dry (we were not asked our temp preference, but the ticket said they were prepared medium well). Price was reasonable, but quality and service unfortunately were compromised.

   We were served quickly and efficiently since we need to be at symphony by 7:30 PM. Our sinner reservations were for 5:00 PM. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. The food was served quickly. Our meals were well prepared. By the time we were ready to pay for our meal, they became very busy so there was a slight delay in getting our bill. I would still recommend the restaurant.

   They did not have our reservation even though it had been confirmed through Open Table. West End said they are not using Open Table for reservations. Thankfully, they worked us in.

   For denizens of St. Louis' upscale Central West End neighborhood, the West End Grille and Pub (WEGAP) is our version of Boston's famed Cheers. It's a friendly neighborhood bar and grille without pretension where all the staff learn your name and treat you like good friends. Our kids love eating here, and it's a nice place to bring our out of town guests as well. Dining choices range from their simple but excellent burgers to a range of well prepared fish, pork, poultry, vegetarian and beef dinner entrees. They have a more than decent wine list to pair with their offerings - all reasonably priced. Connected to the St. Louis Actors' Studio, you can order dinner and head directly into shows ranging from spicy cabaret to serious drama productions on most weekend evenings.

   We went for brunch on Saturday, and it was pretty low-key. Not busy as all, so very quiet, but it probably would be noisy with a crowd. It looks like it would be a fun place to have dinner and go to a show in the theater next door. The brunch menu is not what's on the website, and there aren't very many options. That said, the food was delicious! Excellent made-to-order omelets, but if you don't want eggs, there are very few choices. Very good service, very friendly staff.

   I made the reservation after buying tickets to a Gas Lantern Theatre performance so I could have a nite out in the neighborhood. The service was superb and the food was great. I definitely will return to this hidden neighborhood gem!
