Another very, very, very, very, very, very splendid meal!
Food was amazing. Jason, our server, made great recommendations and executed with a high level of service and attentiveness! We will definitely be back!
Emily was great, she tended to all of our needs. Her wine presentation was on point and she was cheerful the whole night. Food was fabulous, I had the Rockfish and my fiancé had the Scallops. We would recommend to all of our friends!
Had reservations and were seated promptly. The server was affable and attentive without being hovering. All for in our party ordered something different, and we were all pleased with what we got.
great gluten free options and beautiful restuarant. cant wait to try dinner.
Great restaurant. I will definitely return. My only complaint is that we sat at back table for 2. This is near the kitchen, and we could smell cleaning supply/dishwater smell when the door was opened. It wasn’t terrible, but I would not sit at that table again. Such a nice meal shouldn’t be tainted with dishrag smell.
The food was top notch! Mussels were the best we’ve had from Maine to Florida. Service was top notch. We will definitely be back. Great happy hour!
I really love the restaurant's design except that there should be door access from the parking lot; at a minimum, the patio should offer a door access from the parking lot. Additionally, my two to three visits have shown a menu that needs something special added daily. Food is quality, but not enough choices such as changing up the soup each day or offering a special luncheon entree of a salad, soup, sandwich, or even luncheon size entree special of the day.
Atmosphere has a very nice "feeling" while dining. Open and airy, but a little chilly with the low temps last week. Thanks for asking.
Good food...good, friendly service...good value for money spent.
Very vibrant scene. Service was good not great but maybe because of New Year’s Eve. We will definitely return. Lobster roll was fantastic. So was the Curried Mahi. It was quite spicy. Recommend the grilled oysters and the Tuna tacos.
Completely disappointed that the kitchen ran out of Rockfish; I had heard that the restaurant was known for this particular dish. The food was just o.k.; the 'seafood' preparer did not wear gloves and was handling food (i.e. meat and cheese trays...); several of the customers were quite rude by bumping into us and not apologizing for doing so and continued to invade our space. Had a better experience when the restaurant first opened and I had brunch; had no idea that dinner would be overrated and overpriced. Would go back again for drinks only.
Actually better choices menu than CarycSt. East. Enjoyed the atmosphere.
Ate at sister restaurant East Coast Provisions in downtown RVA a year or so ago and liked it. Now have eaten at West Coast Provisions twice in one week. First time was Sunday afternoon cocktails, oysters, and meat/cheese board; was perfect, 5 stars. This second time was dinner and our food choices didn't meat our expectations. Sushi rolls didn't compare to many other local places, including with browning avocado. The octopus small plate was disappointing: very fresh, but too thinly sliced and over-seasoned to appreciate the actual octopus, one of my favorite seafoods. We'll go back, but will need to try the main entrees instead, like we originally had at the East Coast location.
Good food but slightly expensive and noisy. Not good for intimate conversation. Good service.
My family enjoyed our dining experience at West Ciast Provisions. Alex was our server and she was efficient, friendly and overall very pleasant. The food was very good- calamari, fish tacos, curried Maui and fried grouper sandwich - all very tasty. We will definitely return and recommend to friends
The fried oysters were great, cevechi so-so, banana bread cold and just ok, and finally two salads very dry, boring and underwhelmeing.
The service was awesome.
This was our first time visiting this restaurant. The brunch was great and we will definitely give it another try for dinner.
My only complaint was with the eggs Benedict. The poached eggs came out way over cooked. I didn’t need to cut into them to know. All the other food came out great. The homemade donuts were fantastic!
The food & service was great. Great seafood, great value. It is noisy.
Great dining experience. A huge thank you to our amazing server Alex! Her suggestions were spot on. 😀
The food was average. Brunch menu.
Great food, we had to wait a while for it to come though.
The cuisine never disappoints at West Coast Provisions! And our server was wonderful and attentive. All of this almost made up for the fact that my friend's prosecco drink was flat (which was promptly fixed) and the person who answered the phone at the other location was unhelpful when I called to confirm my reservation for 8. The Google tel. listing is only for the original location, and employees should say something other than "I don't have it" when asked for contact info for West Coast. Aren't the two locations affiliated with one another? Get someone else to assist with phone calls; good thing this wasn't my first impression, as I have been here many times before and choose it for a special occasion dinner.
I take my team out for lunch every year to celebrate the holidays and recognize them for a job well done. I had never been to West Coast Provisions before, even though I live in the neighborhood. Upon arrival, I was greeted immediately and seated promptly. The wait staff was professional and provided very good service. We didn't have to wait long; our lunches were served very quickly. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Thank you for providing me and my team with such a nice experience.
We really enjoyed WCP. Nice bar selection and a wonderful menu. I look forward to go back for lunch. It's hard to find a good poke bowl in town.
The food was good. However they charged $3 for 4 tiny pieces of bread and I mean tiny. The bread should be complimentary especially due to the prices of the meals and drinks.
All was well.
Good setting. Good value. Refreshing to have good non chain food in the far west end.
Great restaurant. Perfect choice for my wife’s birthday with family
Pleasantly surprised with the food, service and ambiance. We move from N Cal 1 year ago and this restaurant reminded me of some of the better restaurants in the Napa area. Highly recommend.
Went back in October and had a great meal. Just visited this past weekend and it was like night and day. I'm hoping it was a temporary change in staff because I'm not sure I would go back after this visit. The crab soup was great but that was it. Our mojito drinks tasted like pure grain alcohol we didn't finish them. The mixed green salad had a "hint" of dressing and it tasted like...well bare salad greens not very good. The fish tacos had no flavor...we expected some lively and authentic pickled accompaniments and maybe something else besides a tiny dry salad with the tacos but they were bland, wasn't much within the store bought tortilla a small piece of fish and that was it, blah. Roasted rockfish had a odd flavor and as i started to get towards the middle of the fish it was bloody and I could not eat it after seeing it clearly not cleaned well prior to cooking and not cooked through...it was served with bland polenta and again a dry salad tossed on top of everything. The oysters were good. For about 120 bucks I can think of at least a dozen other restaurants to eat at in RVA. This was a huge disappointment and I'm wondering if a change of staff occured between our first trip and this last one.
Nothing spectacular here. Typical Short Pump area ambiance. Our meal was decent, but left feeling meh. Too too many fantastic restaurants in Richmond to go back here.
My friend and I stopped in for happy hour to celebrate her birthday. Great cocktails, and appetizers on the happy hour menu which more than filled us up.
Our server was Alex, and she was amazing--extremely friendly, helpful, and courteous. The ambiance was fantastic (very chill) and we can't wait to go back.
The restaurant was not very busy, so it was perfect for a business lunch. I had the truffle poke bowl which was outstanding. Our waitress was Hayden and she was terrific!
We enjoy East Coast Provisions and were excited to have a West End location. However, I would rate the evening as fair. Wine took 15 minutes to arrive, after we had already been served our salads. Beet salad was excellent, burrata was only fair. Salmon was very good, my husband got the simply grilled rockfish and said it was fair, as I would also rate the mahi. Busy Saturday night and it was definitely loud in the dining room.
Even with an early reservation and many empty tables at our arrival, we were close enough to the door that it kept our table chilly throughout dinner. Overall a good experience.
Small portions and average flavor for the price. Nice atmosphere and service was good.
It was our first time here. Industrial but inviting decor. Even when people filled the tables around us we were not aware of conversations. Our food was interestingly presented and prepared. Definitely will go again.
Table ready. This was a meeting of six women who have known each other for years but have not seen each other until recently when one of us lost her husband to cancer. Our waitress was wonderful and did not rush us through our get together! Thanks!
Disappointed in the food.
Too pricey for what we were served
