Wells Fargo Steak House
It was closed they forgot to disable open table!!! We love it so all still applies. Covid leaves us all without our crystal balls!!! They were frantically calling people as fast as people were booking through your app!
The service was really slow but they did warn us about that. Had live music and it was nice. The mussels are great but our steaks were WAAAY too salty.
I had the pork scallopini and the homemade chocolate gelato for dessert. Dee-lish!
The food was more than great. Seasoning was perfect. Wells Fargo is WELL worth it. I plan to take my in laws. It was one of those meals that you just can't stop eating even when your full.
Everyone went out of their way to create a unique dining experience. The food was exceptional!
The live music was a little too loud for the space the restaurant is in however we will definitely return again for the great food and attentive service!
Good food in a cool, old historic town. Check out Virginia City while you are there.
This is a fun idea, but they are so understaffed that the wait time was crazy long. It took 2 hours to get our meal. No wait to get seated, and the place wasn’t anywhere near full. The food was good, but overpriced given the rest of the problems.
The Wells Fargo has always been our local seasonal place to have a feww great meals thru the Summer.
My review is somewhat skewed due to the BS Covid rules of engagement.
The meal, as always was great, the Covid rules totally compromised the social and dining experience.
We will go back, it's a great place.
A wonderful evening!!! Food was delicious. We will be back!!
It took us nearly 2 hours to get through dinner. It was very busy with limited seating, so glad we reserved a table prior to arriving. Our waiter seemed a bit overwhelmed with the hustle and bustle, our drinks seemed to be delayed, or 'slow flowing' throughout dinner. However every dish, from the appetizers to our meals came out absolutely perfect. Toward the end of our meal the noise in the restaurant seemed to escalate quickly and soon became very noisy.
We had a great dinner at Wells Fargo. They were having issues with the heaters so it was a bit chilly - the reason for the lower rating on total experience and ambiance. Service and food was excellent and we will be coming back.
Great food, Great Service AND awesome atmosphere located in a 1860’s National Historic Landmark!!!
Prices are what you would expect for a top notch white tablecloth dining experience. Food compares to big city high end restaurants. We always look forward to this place opening every summer.
The food was good but unfortunately it took so long to get to us that we had to scarf it down to make the last half of the show we already bought tickets for. Didn't expect dinner to take 2 hours. Also we were never asked what we wanted to drink which surprised me. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt in that it was their first night of the season and I'm sure we're still working out some kinks but it definitely wasn't the experience we were hoping for.
Server forgot about us and was to busy talking to other customers who were her age. Half of the menu was not available. Forgot to come back to our table with what wine was available, no bread, 30 minutes to get our salads. The Manager had to bring what wine the Steak House still had. Another 30 minutes before our dinner was served. The table next to us had the same amount of guests, but a different server and was eating their meal the same time we got ours. For $250.00 for dinner this was the worst place I have ever eaten at. Will never go back and will bad mouth Wells Fargo ever time I can.
Best food around and Tyler our server was the very best!
The filet was excellent! Waitress was friendly but very busy. Expensive for dinner-everything a la carte.
After waiting over an hour for our food it was terrible, service was bad, overpriced. The steak my wife received was burnt and inedible, the clam and mussel special had 25 clams that were the size of quarters and the meat were the size of dimes. The speghetti and meatballs was decent but I could make it better at home. Worst $100 I ever spent. Dont waste your time or money. Go to the pizza shop or Mexican place in virginia city instead.
The food here was great and we really enjoyed the neat building.
It's a good idea to reserve ahead. We always do and have never had a problem. The service is prompt and personal. The Caesar salad is great and the Tenderloin steak is to die for...done perfectly. If you plan to be in Virginia City, Montana, in the evening, this is a dining experience you should most seriously consider. Just remember, this is a vacation town and most of it is only open during the summer.
The food was good. If you enjoy a loud environment you will enjoy this restaurant. However, this is not the place to have dinner expecting to share a conversation with your dinner mates. The acoustics are not conducive to having a normal dinner discussion if there is a loud party at a table nearby. Customers at several tables repeatedly looked at the disruptive group - the staff didn’t seem to notice.
Wonderful menu, charming location, fun live music, and friendly patrons and staff. Well worth the drive from Bozeman.
The food is great here. We had Ribeye's and Chicken Marsala. Both were fabulous. Our server was not impressive. He was easily distracted and forgot our bread. The service varies a lot depending on the server. There was an old guy singing right near the entrance and boy was he loud. We couldn't hear each other speak after he started.
Loved our entire experience
We had reservation, so thought that everything would be ready and for us. They did have a table, but no water, bread etc ready to go. They said that they were busy, but took a long time to get water, and then they finally arrived for a drink order. It took much longer for the meal order. The food quality was good, but it was nearly a hour after we sat down for it to arrive. They just needed to more wait staff. The staff was friendly when we saw them, but definitely needed to up there game.
The waiter had too much to do ...from 6:30 to 9:30 to eat ...nasty night so understand some
Great Food! Great Service! I would recommend this venue and give it a 5 star.
We went for the first time because we have friends working there. Greeted with great guitar music (every Friday night), we were pleasantly surprised to be able to hear the music, have conversations without yelling, and hear the waitstaff recommendations -- which were spot on from entrees (Pork Scallopine) to cocktails. Service was prompt, but not overbearing. Portions were generous -- we forgot the side dishes really were meant for two people, so we did overorder, but ate every bite. Looking around, this other patrons liked their dishes every bit as much as we liked ours. Although listed as a steak house, it also is a great Italian restaurant.
Tyler waited on us and he is the best! Very prompt and takes good care of his customers. The food was excellent and we can’t wait to come back!
Food and service were great however the noise level was such you could not converse with your table mate, even the wait staff had to yell to be heard.
Lovely and delicious as always!!
We have been there several times and never disappointed
We were seated early and recieved prompt attention with water and menus. We each ordered steak and shared a side of mashed potatoes, which were amazing. I ordered a house salad of fresh locally grown baby greens and a delicious citrus vinaigrette. The steaks were seasoned well and cooked perfectly. My only regret was being too full to enjoy a dessert but the coffee was so good i had a second cup.
Excellent experience all around! We had a wonderful waitress and the food was amazing!
I had the fish. I was still hungry. I was shocked it didn't come with any sides for that kind of money. Won't go back. Great service but that was about it.
A very nice evening. Met all expectations.
Dinner was delicious and service was excellent. Great value!
Good food--perhaps a bit too elegant for the surroundings. Well-prepared with the only downside being a lack of child's menu--a bit surprising given the family location. Keep the quality and take the sophistication down a notch? Might help on the price a bit also. May be interesting to see if the restaurant can otherwise continue in the present price range.
Love the WF.
Food was excellent, though just a bit on the pricey side, for having to order sides at an additional charge. Servers were great! Kind of loud and hard to hear if you’re with a large group. Overall would recommend for a perfectly cooked meal and will go again.
