My husband and I were looking forward to a beautiful tea and we got horrible service. Barely said two words to us. Didn’t explain menu or tea. Then came once to our table. Ignored the fact that we asked about ham and chz. He told us “it’s a mommy and me tea; those are for kids”. My impression was you get “refills” of what ever is on the platters. All other teas have done this with the high price you pay. The scones and chicken salad were outstanding but we didn’t care for mayo and cucumber sandwiches. Our server had 6 tables (two were large). I’ve severed fancy restaurants and we never put someone with more than 4. So maybe have two servers and one to explain all the lovely desserts? Harp player was a beautiful touch.

Tour: more showing and less talking is needed. We spent much time standing in hallways listening to the same info available on the hotel website instead of being shown features of the hotel.
Tea: very delicious, both tea and treats. The harp playing in the background was an unexpected bonus.

West Baden Springs is a beautiful place with a wonderful history. We took the tour first. Wow so many things we learned. My eleven year old even enjoyed it! Then on to the tea. We love tea. We had a choice of 6 teas and a tray full of delightful finger foods. The chocolate scones were the best. The sun was shining through the dome filling the room. What a wonderful experience. Recommend it to all.

The Tea capped off a history tour of the West Baden Springs Hotel. The food was waiting for us at our table and our tea selections were brewed and served in a timely manner. The sandwiches and sweets were numerous and offered variety. The harpist offered a nice background as well as the striking 100 ft tall Atrium the tea was served in.

First time that i have ever done afternoon tea and it was amazing. It was great to do the hotel walking tour and then relax in the hall under the dome for refreshments and snacks.

The sconces with apple butter were to die for. Love the selection of teas to choice from and are butler topped up our water for the pots a couple of times.

Next time i am in french lick /west baden i sm definetly going to do it again

The tea sandwiches bread were all dried out, and barely any filling at all. I had to ask server what was on the tier instead of her telling me what each item was. No detail on teas were given except the name of teas available to choose from. Server tried to take my plate away two times before I was finished and then when I did give it up, my spoon went with it and could not finish stirring my tea and honey. Just felt rushed and was given a to-go box to take desserts with me. The fresh flowers were removed with my setting so that told me it was time to move on.

The tour was excellent, the afternoon tea was very disappointing. My daughter and I attended this event as an early Mother's Day outing. We have been to many high teas and afternoon teas throughout the country. The service was poor. We didn't even have our first sip of hot tea until 30 minutes after our tiered tray was delivered. The server mispronounced several of the items presented. We were never given a menu. Clearly, they have never been trained on steeping time, or service etiquette. The food was straight out of a box (convenience items). I'm in the hospitality industry and recognized the pastries as those from a national vendor(one was even still frozen in the middle). The venue/atmosphere was delightful. I expected more from a historical hotel of that caliber. We will not be back, or recommend it to friends and family.

Disappointing experience. Booked for a special mother / daughter birthday. The attention to detail from the server made the experience very bland. No mention of types of teas, any detail whatsoever of the finger food served, nothing. The tea was very tasty, but the food was average at best and very skimpy. Other tables were cleared and we felt rushed off after being there around 40 minutes.
Would not recommend for almost $100 for 2 including Tip.

High tea after the tour of West Baden proved the perfect , relaxing way to end our day. Our daughters, ages 10 and 6, felt very special and enjoyed selecting their own flavored tea. The scones, chicken salad and smoked salmon were delicious. The harpist playing added to the already beautiful ambiance. Most of the desserts and the chicken salad have nuts in them. If you have a tree nut allergy, let them know when making your reservation and they are more than happy to accommodate you. We really enjoyed this experience and will do it again.

We did the tour of historic West Baden Hotel followed by the tea. The hotel is just fabulous, tour guide was good, and the tea was very good and just lots of fun for a group of women friends. They had a harpist playing during tea, and the beautiful dome flooded with natural light, good food and lovely music was a very, very nice overall experience.

My experience at West Baden was awesome. I particularly enjoyed the tour of the hotel. Our guide was very knowledgeable about its history. The tea was wonderful and served in a quiet atmosphere. I will definitely tell my friends about this event and encourage them to try it. I plan to bring my granddaughter for tea in the near future.

The cucumber and chicken salad sandwiches were small and the bread was dried out. The desserts were nothing spectacular. I could have bought a package of the Christmas cookies at the grocery store for $3.99. They give you a large menu of tea to choose from but you are rudely told "only 1 tea per person." For $34.99 a person, I expected a small salad or soup with the tea but you got 2 small triangles of a cucumber sandwich (on wonder white bread), 2- 2inch by 1 inch chicken salad finger sandwiches on store bought wheat bread, a Christmas cookie, 2 small bites size chocolate desserts, 1 scone and an individual pot of one variety of tea. Over priced and underwhelming. I would give this negative stars.
