Our server, Olivia, was fantastic! She was so adorable, made great suggestions and was extremely attentive.
The food was great, and the atmosphere was lovely.
Food was interesting but not amazing for the price. Dessert and service were the best parts!
I really enjoyed everything about Waypoint except for the actual sating. The chairs are not comfortable and seem to pitch the diner toward the table. If one's legs are not long enough to reach the floor from the almost stool-height chairs, one has to rest one's feet on the one rung, which may not be advantageously positioned, or lean forward to get feet on the floor. I would have preferred sitting in a booth, but our party was too large for that.
Wonderful restaurant with excellent service. Food was delicious and they kept the plates coming at a good pace!
Very fun and artsy seafood spot in the Harvard Square area, has a lot of great décor loved sitting by the kitchen to see and watch everything that was shown.
Definitely an overrated restaurant and not nearly as good as Alden and Harlow. The staff was a bit arrogant and didn’t make you feel truly welcome at the place. Biggest downside-they have no coffee drinks besides regular drip coffee and no milk alternatives!!! Not to sounds like a spoiled millennial but it’s 2020 and this is supposed to be a hip place not a small town restaurant in the middle of nowhere. The waiter was utterly frustrated when I asked about coffee and then opted for a non alcoholic drink. He could clearly see he wasn’t getting a big enough tip from our table so didn’t even try to provide a good service. Overall, not impressed. Might come back to give it another shot for dinner but not the best first impression.
The restaurant happened to be pretty open/empty so our reservation wasn't necessary in that sense but it was perfect for our work lunch after a long morning meeting. Service was prompt and attentive without being meddlesome (Waypoint servers generally strike this balance quite well). Food was great as ever.
The crab fries and filet of fish sticks are a must! But everything was very delicious, the service was great, and our table felt intimate even in such a large restaurant. Definitely a great place to go with a big group so you can order many things!
Excellent food, excellent service!
Great service, amazing food, and very accommodating to make options for 1 member of our party who is vegan. Only minor complaint was the restaurant was quite loud (louder than it's been in the past) and wasn't very full. Overall, great place to eat
We loved our experience at Waypoint. We were not rushed, we were allowed to enjoy our experience and our dinner. I took part in their special absinthe drinks, ordering their One Good Churn. Well worth the money. We ordered the scallops, which were heavenly. The warm artichoke salad was decent, but I wouldn't order it again. The oysters were fantastic and the steak was the highlight of our meal.
We went for lunch. Great food , atmosphere and service. Never had cauliflower in a pizza before, it was delicious. I had a farro dish and my husband had the fish. Everything was great. I will be back. Downsides: hard to find parking at lunchtime ( evening they have valet) , unisex bathrooms. Hate them.
The food was delicious. I had no complaints.
The brunch menu is great—recognizably “brunchy” but with some really interesting twists. The Okonomiyaki Waffle was off the hook.
Bucatini VERY VERY VERY salty
It’s been totally satisfying watching Waypoint become the Cambridge juggernaut that we always felt that it could become. Arguably, the greatest clever cocktail spot in the city coupled with some sort of clandestine connection to TRVE brewing really gives the bar group some serious street cred. Endlessly creative and inventive dishes that are both celebratory and crave-worthy are destined to be your new favs. Order the octopus meatballs, any flatbread, the seasonal roasted veggie plate and certainly the blue crab angel hair pasta. Always on point service and a beautiful space.
Service was great. Apps were really good
Wonderful service and delicious ingenious dishes. Lobster toast was divine.
I loved it. The food was delicious and our waitress was fabulous. I have already told many people about it. Hoping to come back for my birthday next week.
We are regular patrons at Waypoint. During our last visit, we ordered ribeye steaks to our preferences. It took them more than half an hour to bring the food. The steaks came out to be very dry and chewy. When we reported this, our server brought in one scoop of plain ice cream for the table to share and eat. We asked him to take it away. This was almost like an insult to us. There was no compensation and the manager did not even bother to come and talk to us.
Waypoint is always a great time with delicious food and good vibes!
One of the best restaurants in metro Boston! We love the table sharing plates and entrees.
Very good seafood, energetic environment and nice service.
Hiramasa, Yellow tail ,crudo was great, very nice presentation and mix flavors.
The tuna tartare was good, fresh.
Kenny’s bread had a nice mixture of breads and seaweed butter and squid ink dip.
Pasta uni bucatini was very tasty and creamy.
The smoked mackerel was amazing, great mix of flavors and textures with scallions and eggs and miso.
The drinks were quite expensive, we ordered a shot of vodka on ice with limes ( and other order w slice orange) and they charged as a martini drink.
Coffee and dessert were ok. The crostata of the day was banana
Plates were smaller than I would have expected for the price, but delicious nonetheless!
Cacio e Pepe was just ok and hamburger was STRANGLEY chewy.
Delicious and inventive food and drinks, always some novelties.
Excellent, creative food, wine and cocktails. Sharing plates best way to experience cuisine.
I love Waypoint. When I want to be sure that I'll get a delicious meal, I come to Waypoint. The food is so beautifully prepared and beautifully balanced, and their flavors will knock your socks off! If I ever have friends come to Boston from out-of-town, this is where I go. And I hope that Waypoint is around for years and years to come :)
Food specifics: My friends and I got the Bucatini with Poached Egg, and we were all swooning. The crudo was excellent. I have also had the Squid Ink pasta which is excellent. I mean, really, any pasta from here is amazing.
Staff was friendly. Food was brought out cold.
Great, interesting food and wonderful cocktails. $1 oysters were a surprise and a great. Bartenders were serious pros. We sat at the bar rather than a table and found it just as comfortable. Definitely will go back.
Went for new year’s day brunch, had a great time!
NYE - great atmosphere
Expensive but tastes really amazing!
Great selection of small plates. Sharing with 4 people allows many options. Nice wine list.
Interesting menu - lots of good choices. Great drinks. Service was sporadic - our waitress was quite inattentive which was surprising because it wasn't super busy. The servers were really good though
Great seafood and cocktails. Wonderful service, attentive but not overbearing and very knowledgeable. Will be coming back!
So good! Went twice already and loved it each time. Highly recommend the lobster pasta! It was nice that they even offer gluten free pasta for my family who is intolerant.
The food was great. And we loved our waitress Molly, who was so friendly, timely, knowledgeable, and helpful. Oh, we did think the halibut was a bit overcooked, but tasty nonetheless.
The food, the staff, the seats, the drinks. I can’t say enough good things about Waypoint. This restaurant may be the reason I don’t leave Cambridge.
