Blue Moon TapHouse was born from the creative inspiration of bringing craftsmanship to life. The menu marries the art of cooking with the art of beer in an open kitchen. The Tavern features live music and authentic art by local artists. The TapHouse boasts 22,550 square footage and connects Waterside Drive to the Elizabeth River waterfront in the heart of downtown Norfolk, Virginia. Blue Moon TapHouse at Waterside District features three unique dining and entertainment experiences throughout the venue. The tavern area, with comfortable, booth-style seating, features a custom designed circular bar serving a collection of featured beers on tap, a stage for intimate, live music performances and an outdoor patio. From the tavern room, the venue flows into a dynamic, central area that opens up to a high, vaulted ceiling with a large skylight and a significant, exposed kitchen for one-of-a-kind dining experiences.

I did not expect the food to be that good. That was the best clam chowder I’ve ever had. I mean, I’m from the Midwest, but still.

Our server was incredibly kind, our food came out cold, but overall not a bad time just wish our food had all come out at the same time and it was hot but it’s okay just not for me

Ordered a grilled chicken wrap which contained uncooked bacon strips that had to be removed and thrown away.

The food and restaurant were great. It was really loud and they were very understaffed. It took quite a while for the server to come to the table between visits. I recommend but be prepared to sit a while and wait for food and bill.

Food was absolutely disgusting and overpriced. Bathrooms were filthy and disgusting. Staff likes to hangout and seem underemployed. Tear it down bring something better or hire new management team

Our visit was great. Initially was set as a birthday visit, turned engagement party when our AMAZING wait staff was the very best. Gage was training a new employee while watching him go through and give other tables the same energy we were given with the sudden proposal. The food was fantastic and was not too overly expensive. Great drinks, food and ambiance, definitely coming back here.

Made a reservation and were seated immediately. When we arrived it was fairly empty but quickly started filling. We saw our server once within 30 minutes, aside from watching her stand at the host stand or kitchen window talking. Seemed like one of the other servers was taking majority of the tables. Never got our drink orders (2 mimosa flights and a redbull), only our appetizer. Manager was very helpful and understanding and took care of our appetizer so that we could leave. Not sure if this is typical there or not but there’s plenty of other spots to choose from.
