Had dinner with my wife on a date night. We were both very pleased with our meals and our wine. Her pesto tortellini with shrimp was exactly what she was craving and my harissa tuna was amazing. The restaurant presents very well also with nice finishes and ambience. The service was good, not great, and there could have been better preparation in knowing what they were out of and presenting the daily specials without having to be asked about them. But they were nice enough, and we didn’t lack for anything so overall I was pleased with the service. The menu is a bit small, particularly on sides that they offer with entrees. They were out of one of their sides, which was disappointing, but it happens. Overall, I’d be happy to return here next time I’m in Norfolk, and would recommend it to anyone.

My husband and I took our mothers for Mother’s Day. The restaurant provided a special limited menu for Mother’s Day but was still out of half the menu by 6pm. We decided to leave and try another restaurant.

We may have been there on an off night. The vibe didn’t seem up to par with what I’m assuming is expected or has been experienced. Our waiter was kind but seemed very preoccupied by something. We weren’t checked on very much and our orders took awhile to come out and because we weren’t checked on very often, there was a lot of spacing between our orders. We weren’t necessarily in a hurry, it was Mother’s Day so we were enjoying ourselves, but when we did get a chance to order we were told the kitchen was out of a lot of what we wanted. They ran out of the crab dip, the braised beef, im going to assume crostinis because we didn’t get them with the charcuterie board, as well as grilled peaches for the salmon. We tried to order all of these items. We enjoyed what we were able to order. The food was very good and that gets five stars. The only part of our meal that could have been better was the burger meat. We weren’t asked how we would like it cooked and they came out well done and a bit dry. The aioli saved the day as that was very tasty. We were also disappointed to not find the steak on the menu as we had looked at the menu on their website before choosing Waters Edge and our mom wanted that steak. All in all the experience was fine but no one wished anyone a happy Mother’s Day and after spending $400, I don’t know if our experience matched that price. The restaurant wasn’t full so I’m not sure if staffing was short, but it felt like they were unprepared for Mother’s Day. Maybe they had been very busy for lunch but our reservation wasn’t needed for dinner. Hopefully whatever is going on there, they can find their flow and improve. We LOVED the Norfolk Brussels and Skillet cookie. So hats off to the chefs, aside from the burger beef, they nailed it. I would recommend this place but I would tell friends to maybe not spend $400. Unless their experience seems much higher than ours. Edited to add: we were seated indoors even though outside was requested.

Had to wait longer than expected for my food, but I enjoyed the time with the Mrs. The food was great, and the wine selections were endless. They need to work on the peach cobbler desert. Maybe get grandma's recipe. The company should remove the business casual comment from their website because most patrons were dressed for the beach.

My date and I enjoyed our time at Waters Edge Winery. Easy location to find, easy parking, lots of seating indoor/outdoor. The atmosphere is versatile, it can feel romantic, social gathering, but also family friendly. The menu wasn't overwhelming which made it easy to pick a good starter and entrée. The flight options are fantastic, the sangria flight was probably my favorite. The service was decent, didn't see a host or hostess at the front so we had to walk to the bar to check-in to let them know we were arriving for our reservation. The server was sweet but not very attentive, I think finding that happy medium is important. Overall, the value for money is good, would come here again.

The crab dip was extremely salty and this is coming from my husband who loves him some salt. On the other hand, his main course was not seasoned well at all. This was disappointing considering the experience I had as a solo diner at the stormy event. I thought most of that was good and I wish it had been kept to that level. I want to root for this place hit even my dinner was lackluster.

Our evening was delightful! We ordered the Caesar salad, brussels sprouts and shrimp skewers. They were all fabulous!!!! Our champagne was excellent as well! We cant wait to go back!

We had the smash burger and the BBQ sandwich, and both were absolutely delicious—super flavorful and cooked just right. The raspberry peach sangria was the perfect drink to go with it—light, fruity, and refreshing. Our server was great—really friendly, attentive, and knew the menu well. He made sure everything came out just the way we wanted. Can’t wait to come back!
