Great service! Christopher was friendly and attentive to our needs. Food was Ridiculously Amazing! They made my birthday brunch a memorable one!
Waitress kept bouncing as soon as SHE thought we were done with our order ... everyone was kinda brushing us off since our table with further than everyone else ... food was good ... nothing special ... great view but that’s it ... would skip
Absolutely delicious food, great drinks and service! We were seated on the 2nd-story balcony which was quite warm (protected from the wind), and had an amazing view of the bay bridge.
Excellent food and a fantastic value for the 1.05 oysters during Happy Hour. However, the menu dishes are quite small and not a great value considering the portion size. They are yummy though.
Very nice outdoor experience, food was as good as the service.
Horrible food steak was super dry
We enjoyed our Sunday lunch at Water Bar. The food is delicious and a nice selection of wines. The outdoor tables are pleasant, altho as the day was cool we would have been more comfortable within the "walls" of the garden rather than having the view of the Bridge. Just a word of caution. But the heat lamp helped a lot. Excellent service. We will be back!
It was good to be back at WaterBar after the lock down in SF.
Staff is always friendly and helpful. Outdoor dinning was good, lucky for us super sunny morning (or depends on the weather). Night/dinner may be a little bit cool (they do have heat lamp).
Looking forward to visit again.
Thanks Ricky, Let me know what we need to do to receive a 5 star rating in your mind. Best regards, Rich T.
Best location on the Bay combined with a creative chef with a focus on seafood
Well said Bill, and we do so agree! Best, Rich T.
Our food was absolutely delicious, from the onset of oysters as our appetizer to the scrumptious butternut squash soup and calamari. Our guests had the dover sole and fish tacos, accompanied by a wonderful sauvignon blanc wine.
this was our 3rd attempt at a reservation, previous ones had to be cancelled due to the fires and then the covid uptick, we are glad we were tenacious in doing this again and will tell our friends how special this place is.
The wait staff was spot on and were all very welcoming to have their business coming back online. Thanks to all!
We appreciate you Gr8bites! Rich T.
Very good view and service. Prices were quite reasonable and the menu was pretty good. Options are somewhat limited on entrees but, overall a great place. Service was prompt and attentive.
Great seafood and atmosphere right under the Bay bridge. As a non-seafood eater the menu is definitely lacking but then again this is a seafood restaurant.
Best service, best view and best food. I do recommend this place.
As always it was fantastic. Managing Partner Pete Sittnick greeted is and set the stage foe a wonderful lunch. I highly recommend Waterbar. Great food, great location, great service.
Don't like the policy that you will not seat a table if not all guests have arrived. Sometimes people are late. Or parking issues. We would have had a drink while we waited so that harmed the restaurant for that matter. The 90 minute rule did not matter because the restaurant was not that crowded. I have been to 8-10 restaurants during the Pandemic and this was the only one requiring that.
But, food was great as was the service by the server and staff.
Hello Richard, Note that the "Not seating incomplete parties" along with a mandatory "bona fide meal", along with 90 minutes, along with "Mask on the entire time", no cocktails while waiting for a table, are all SF Municipal laws that every SF should be adhering to. These are lawful positions that we simply tried our best to execute. Even with all this, we are now in a shut down. Be well, Rich T.
They were diligent in keeping up with my Reservation, and when I had realized I booked the wrong day, they were very accomodating and changed it even though it was last minute.
Service was excellent and Food and Cocktails were super yummy!!
This was during Covid, so we had to sit outside. It was very cold, so dress appropriately.
Recommend! Will come back again!
Food was amazing and view could not have been more perfect! Wasn’t even cold but heating lamps were also a nice option to have!
Very pleasant - one of my favorite outdoor dining places.
Fun and enjoyable outdoor space. A bit pricey but so worth it.
Wonderful view and food. Service was amazing. Can’t wait to go back!
We had a wonderful dinner at Waterbar for our son’s birthday. Dined outside on the upstairs terrace with beautiful views of the Bay Bridge. Food and service was excellent!
Very nice ambience, astonishing views, good food!
Aburrido con excelente vista espectacular comida equis Buenos ostiones. No volvería solo por la vista
The atmosphere is nice, the place was nicely heated, and service was good. The oysters were amazing. I ordered the lobster and scallops. It was good but I've had better. Other than that, we had great dining experience .
Fantastic food and service. Best views in town! Great Covid procedures - we felt very safe.
Absolutely perfect!! Great outdoor dining, far away from other diners, and pleasantly surprised with the $1.09 oysters. Thank you for making my bday so special.
The server was good but the kitchen was slow. 3 of us ordered the tuna rare and it came medium rare. It was a lesser quality than ahi and was disappointing. The 4th person had the trip tip which was very good.
food was phenomenal and oysters were fresh
We had a positive experience however I wish wishing there was more choices on the menu for lunch and my fish was a bit salty.
As always the food was exquisite; to me Waterbar remains one of the best seafood restaurants I've ever been to. Alas, we were sitting in the back room by a window whose Bay Bridge view is not as spectacular as the main dining room's.
Also, there was only just one other table at the other side of the room with six noisy diners, and our waiter disappeared for long periods not being particularly attentive and prompt. The overall social experience / interaction was a bit awkward due to the Covid-19 safety regulations.
By all means, always request the main dining room where the ambiance with the aquarium tanks and the view are amazing and also where probably you get better service.
Delicious meal & friendly service
We had a great lunch. The reception, service, food and ambience were memorable. We will definitely dine here again!
A beautiful restaurant inside and out. I was pretty impressed with the comfort and elegance. The ambience is so nice for couples or a family dining experience. I reserved a table with a view and I was very happy to know that it was made available to me and my friends. Food was delicious, dessert (brownie something) was sooo decadent, & drink selections + wines were very good. The bay bridge view was perfect from where we sat. I can’t wait to come back.
So many thanks to you MKB! Our best and be well! Rich T.
Waterbar gave us the most beautiful romantic birthday night, thank you all for being so amazing and making our trip all the way from LA with it!!!
Amore Angelinos! Thanks for enjoying! Best, Rich T.
For the record this wasn’t my first time here.
But if I could go back in time I would absolutely avoid the experience.
It was a disappointment from the moment we checked in.
Service: practically non-existent. Waited for 30 minutes before a server approached us. No apology and no explanation for the delay. Throughout the meal there was minimal to no follow up about the service or food.
Food: I could barely finish my dish (black Cod)/it tasted bad, greasy. I mentioned it to one of employees but there was attempt to address my feedback.
Ambiance: we were sitting outside and it was freezing. Heating element was broken (employee said it was broken). No accommodations were provided/no apologies.
Value: Michelin star prices-$40/plate for average food quality and minimal service? Absolutely unacceptable. Speechless
Made a reservation two weeks in advance and sat next to kitchen and lobster tank. Not happy
The service and food were outstanding. The mussels in a coconut curry were superb as was the green Apple mousse we had for dessert. Excellent!
Service wasn’t bad but not at all up to the exceptional level I have experienced during past visits to this restaurant. We were there to have a lighter meal of small plates and the server’s demeanor shifted when he realized we decided not to order entrees. I ordered the Lobster Bisque which was really more of a shrimp bisque, it was very bitter, overly salty, and a thin (watery) consistency as if it was running low and they added water and salt to make it last to the end of the night. When I politely asked to send it back the server was condescending and explained how soups are made and why they can’t be the exact same every time. (I mentioned I’d ordered it before and was looking forward to enjoying it again) The busser or assist server refilled my water by reaching across me and spilled and splashed water on the table and me. Minor things but I was really looking forward to going out to one of my favorite SF restaurants for a date night which is rare in 2020. Hopefully it will be better next time.
This was our ~5th time at Waterbar. The quality of the food was mediocre this time. Lobster bisque was barely warm and the $67 lobster with scallops was like an appetizer. Disappointed overall.
