Fantastic food and drink. Cocktails, starters and mains were all first class. The sticky toffee pudding was a highlight so save room for dessert.

Fantastic meal. Went for Saturday brunch, great location and view. I was afraid this was going to be too touristy, being right on the Embarcadero, but not the case. Everything we ate was delicious. The Aguachile appetizer was terrific - such fresh fish and interesting flavors. The oyster of the day for $1 each was a great deal and they were delicious - loved the mignonette sauce. King Salmon flatbread appetizer was also very flavorful. The delicately-flavored curry sauce complemented the mahi mahi perfectly. Also noteworthy was the Cappelini Pasta dish, with plump, juicy mussels and an egg. The sauce on this dish was so tasty I used a mussel shell as a spoon and ate every last drop. They were gracious to split the mahi and pasta dishes onto separate plates & bowls so my wife and I could share both of them without passing plates back an forth. Great wine list, and wine service. I hate paying ~$100 for a bottle of wine, then the server pours the first glass and you are on your own for the rest. We never had to refill our glasses, nor were they ever empty (until the bottle was dry). This was our first meal of this San Francisco visit, and was by far the best. Looking forward to our next visit so we can revisit Waterbar (maybe more than once!)

If you want to make a memory with someone special, then this is your place. Beautiful bridge backdrop in the evening, warm and romantic atmosphere inside. Food was fantastic and reasonably priced. Definitely a new go to place for me.

Beautiful place, wonderful view, great food, very overpriced wine. I am a retired restaurateur and have access to wholesale prices of wine. I would guess the markup is 5 x cost, 3 x retail. If they paid $20.00 for a bottle of wine, it will probably be on the wine list for about $100.00. Still a great place to have a delightful meal.

Food quality mediocre. Service staff well trained and attentive. Location and ambience impressive and should augment the menu , however the dishes ( starters and entrees )lack finesse and detail. This can be easily overlooked by the casual tourist and the pretentious recently arrived " local " through smart interior design and location. The trained eye however can not so easily be fooled.

Do not show up to dinner reservation early you will not be seated and it's very typical to weasel your way in between people at the bar and you will not be seated until 5:30

From the time we arrived at the Restaurant, the staff was welcoming and friendly. Our waitress, Kate, was fantastic. Knew her job, the food, the wine list and how to make customers enjoy themselves to the utmost extent. The oysters of the day were spectacular, as were the mussels, smoked trout and smoked salmon. A wonderful afternoon. We will be back.

It would be nice to train waiters how to pour champagne or wine.
We ordered a bottle of champagne veuve cliquot.
Our waitress poured it at once in between the 3 of us!
Didn’t have time to stop her.
It is nice to enjoy sipping champagne that stay cold.
I guess they want you to order more but not very pleasant neither professional.
The food was good.

I've eaten at the Waterbar many times and each time was very good, The noise level is pretty high because its so popular and the food is amazing. My friend couldnt get enough of the velvet cheesecake at the end and is still talking about it. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for something romantic and with a good selection of seafood. The views are some of the best in SF!

The food was excellent, the atmosphere and the view from the restaurant is nonpareil, the wait staff was wonderful and although I do not remember his name, our waiter went above and beyond the call of duty. He was attentive, patient with our indecisiveness, and helpful with suggestions. All water glasses were refilled without ever asking. It is easy to get to by public transport and the valet parking as used by a friend was easy to maneuver. All in all a great dining /lunch experience

Went for Restaurant Week with a good friend. We were both extremely impressed with the pre fixe menu. The food was delicious. And a good value for the restaurant. Service was lovely and the wine pairing spot on. Only complaint was a loud group a couple of tables over. But they were having a good time.

One of our new favorite places in San Francisco! We went to Waterbar for a late lunch on Monday and had no idea what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised to find out we could sit outside and enjoy the view of the Bay Bridge while we ate. We selected Waterbar because they had oysters and a great view. We were VERY happy with the delicious oysters and excellent service. This was one of our best restaurant experiences while we were in San Francisco. We were also pleased to see they donate 5¢ for every oyster sold in support of our local community. They have a wonderful selection of oysters. Our only problem was that they limit you to 24 oysters at one time! (We could have had many more) They would have gladly supplied more of course but we wanted to sample other items from the menu. I'm sure they thought we were famished because, in addition to the oysters, we had the special of the day and the Gulf Shrimp Aguachile which was incredible. So was the Meyer Lemon Panna Cotta! Loved every minute of it and hated to leave! We would definitely recommend Waterbar for its excellent food, service and amazing view!
