Beautiful outdoor patio with sweeping views of the bay. Wonderful fresh oysters. Appetizers and main courses did not disappoint - particularly enjoyed pan-seared mahi-mahi.
The environment was amazing! Inside was such a fun experience, and the view of the Bay Bridge was incredible at night! The service was great and the food was excellent!
Loved it. Was busy so slow service but it was
Such good food and a pretty place
This was a special night and it couldn't have been a nicer atmosphere.
Service was intrusive and rude. The food was fantastic and the views amazing but the meal was ruined by the bad server. We complained to the management too.
The best meal I’ve ever had! The halibut was flavorful, uniquely paired with almonds, squash, and nothing short of perfection! Great wine list, view of the bridge, perfect date night spot!
This is one of my favorite San Francisco go to places as always it’s just picture perfect weather was great food awesome the manager came by and is always slow when we come in again seafood and salad keep the palate amazed...so so fresh and good...
Pricing high service great
Hundred dollars a person for lunch. Step for what we had
I was disappointed in the sparse choice of main courses (4), the incredibly small portion size of the sashimi appetizer st $17 and in general the quality of the main dish (whole fish). Wine was good. In general not worth the money.
This is one of our favorites along the San Francisco waterfront. The decor and cuisine are creative and the service is very accommodating. Plus you get that amazing view.
I typically reserve at EPIC as WaterBar has not been available. As luck would have it, family visit from the midwest was in town and I was able to get an early reservation at WaterBar for my first experience.
We were seated in a lower level which was a bit of a downgrade from the main seating at the entrance. The waitress we had was fantastic, accommodating and very polite.
The menu was extremely limited with only 4 main courses. No salad selection to choose from and a limited selection of appetizers. That said, without calamari on the menu, our waitress suggested the roasted octopus. Presentation was great, bu the cranberry bean puree had a crusted film and the octopus was only slightly warm; appeared the dish was plated an hour earlier before being served.
No bread was brought to the table. The mains (Halibut and Ahi Tuna) were fine; nothing extravagant for a $40 dish.
I was under impressed with the overall experience for a $110pp check. Next time, I will wait for Epic.
Waterbar has a lovely Bay view, the interior is nicely decorated, and our waiter was very cordial, though the service was slow. It also has oysters on halfshell for $.105 each, and a very good desserts menu. My wife had a good seafood bisque and risotto. BUT the jack fish that I and a friend ordered, though very fresh, was spoiled for us by over-salting and over-spicing, and the orders were mixed up. I asked for medium rare fish with moderate spice and my friend asked for medium with no spice at all. She got very spicy medium and I got medium rare with no spice. Both dishes were very salty. The chef needs to learn to let the flavor of the fish come through, hold back or eliminate the salt, and get the done-ness right.
Excellent service, very good food!
Best outdoor lunch in the City! Valet parking a needed and much appreciated feature. Special kudos for Eric for excellent, pesonalized service, always.
À truly fantastic location with a great view try to have a table close to he window
Excellent service as well but noise level very high
Everyone on the staff performed meticulously in the provision of service. Food was prepared imaginatively and was of high quality. This all comes at a cost, but relax and enjoy it!
Waterbar is my favorite restaurant in the city. The view and food are unbeatable. I hesitate to leave this review only because I want to continue to be able to make a reservation easily!
The views are excellent and I was hopeful but our food was cold. The quality is actually quite good but it looked like our dishes sat around for awhile before being delivered. My $40 tuna had a sauce that was hardened and boring accompanying lettuce leaves. My husband's $70 lobster was good but also cold even though it was grilled.
Excellent et cher
The customer staff at the entrance was really kind to us.
Beautiful waterfront with amazing views! The service was outstanding and the food was delicious!
We were wow-ed by our booth by the window, delicious food and strong service. Loved it!
I had a wonderful time and the food was great. the view was definitely worth the trip.
Another great meal. Loved the breaded oysters. Great location on the water. Great atmosphere
We have enjoyed Waterbar for seven years now as a special place. This was our anniversary and we chose Waterbar. We were seated at our favorite table with a view of the Bridge. The Server pointed out that the menu had changed. It was an interesting change to be sure. Shared items were prominent with the suggestion of adding more to make it a better share. We enjoyed our meal thoroughly and did not choose the shared. But, the menu left us thinking... Would we continue to bring our parents, friends and family? We decided not. The food is good but we miss the menu with more choices other than sharing. We think this trend (just experienced it at Lucky Strike as well) is poorly thought out and hopefully will be short lived. That said, it was fun to meet a couple next to us celebrating their 50th anniversary and coming from Colorado. (Listening to them talk as well about the shareables, they did not choose that.) We loved it when we anonymously bought their dinner as well... We told them 50 trumps 36 and wanted to honor that event.
We had a fabulous evening. The view to the Led light show on Oakland Bridge was spectacular. The food is great, so are the cocktails and wine. The staff were really friendly and efficient. Can't fault it
We had a great time for my friend’s 50th birthday. We all shared the fish and it was plenty to share for three. We also ordered side dishes fried green tomatoes and broccolini with an egg. All of it was really good. They brought water for the dogs and were very friendly from beginning to end. Great service, friendly staff and delicious food.
Appalled when the waiter took plates from our table and returned them to a stack that was later used for other customers...Yikes! The ceviche was horrible with stale chips...
Lovely view of the Bay Bridge outdoor with plenty of shade. Hoped for more...
We went to Waterbar to celebrate the last night of our honeymoon and they went out of their way to make it special. The view, service and food were all great :)
Service was super sloooooooow. It took nearly 2.5 hours for brunch. The restaurant was not full, and they seemed to have plenty of staff. Training issues?
Thank you Waterbar for making our 20th Anniversary special. After getting slightly lost and arriving 20 mins late we were seated with a fab view and a complimentary glass of fizz! This was a lovely way to start a lovely meal. We were also treated to a special anniversary treat at the end as well. This made the meal very memorable and a great dining experience. The sharing platters looked amazing!
Food was not really up to the price point. Nice location by the water.
We enjoy our evening at Waterbar, the service and the food was wonderful.
Food overall good, not amazing. Figs great. Roast platter. Okay.
The seafood here is very fresh but the shared seafood bake was absolutely covered in the poblano cream sauce. It was very messy & kind of ruined it for us. We saw the description but just didn’t think it would be like seafood soup almost. You had to dig in & break the crab covered in the cheese sauce. So messy! Just wish it was less cheese sauce. The wine guy was absolutely amazing! We enjoyed a nice bottle of champagne. The fruit flys kept landing in our glasses though which is kind of bs for this place. They should have control of that. We were inside no where near the door to the outside. So if there was that many by us I wonder how many are in the kitchen...
Our entire experience at Waterbar was great. From the moment we walked in the hostess' were very friendly in greeting us. The acknowledged our anniversary which made my girlfriend happy. Our waiter was outstanding and answered every question we had with great knowledge. We will definitely be back next time we visit SF.
Too exorbitant for whatever we had. Does not worth it. We pay too Much for the view
