We booked this reservation, took an uber to the restaurant only to see the restaurant is closed. How do you take a reservation on a closed restaurant? There should be some compensation for this problem.
Unfortunately, this location is closed. Should be removed from Open Table ASAP.
It was closed. Nice one open table. Better luck next time
This restaurant is apparently closed. Would not recommend going to this place without calling first
Food was VERY good but service was a little slow.
I made the reservation on OpenTable through TripAdvisor. Apparently each one of these sites take reservations even though the restaurant is closed on Sunday. I drove to St.Louis parked and walked only to find out that this restaurant is closed every Sunday. It was pretty disappointing so I had to find another restaurant to eat at.
My sister and I were in St. Louis for conference and loved our lunch at Wasabi. My sister is a timid sushi diner and your bento box was the perfect meal for her. Wonderful meal, great service, cool vibe in the restaurant and of course, in downtown St. Louis' historic entertainment district.
The food (rolls) were very good but not great. The VALUE was great due to half price rolls on Friday evening. Service was a bit slow, but OK.
The staff was very friendly, polite, and helpful. The food was well worth the price and I loved the ginger margarita. It was worth the $12 I paid for it.
Monday's all day are happy hour! We spent about $60 after the discount, and we were soolo full! Serving sizes were great.! Variety of sushi options.! Try the fried ones! Overall it was our first time trying a place like this and it was amazing..
Staff was very accommodating to explain find gluten free options. Allowed us to order some rolls as gluten free that are traditionally not and handled their separation very seriously.
Very fast service and courteous staff helped start my wife's birthday night out the right way.
Good Food! Great Service! Loved it!
Broad selection, very fresh and inventive rolls, and they even created a custom roll for my friend. The prices are reasonable, and it may for a nice evening of great food and wine.
Took exponentially too long for raw food and the service was inattentive.
My fiance and I had a great time, and food and drinks were awesome!!
The service was perfect. I was greeted and helped the second I walked in the door. The scenery was a interesting mix of vibrant and calm. The food was cooked to perfection and the restaurant itself is a great place for a get together. Absolutely amazing!
The sushi was amazing!!!!
Wasabi boat was a great deal!
I was in town with m family for a conference. After a long day we wandered in to Wasabi for a meal. We were seated right away and the staff was pleasant and helpful. I had the one of the Bento Box choices. Most of the sushi was of good quality. However, some of the side dishes like the stir fried mixed vegetables and fried rice seemed out of place...more like what I would expect at a lower priced teriyaki stand. My standard of comparison would be family owned Japanese restaurants of similar price point in my home area near Seattle and Tacoma Washington. I would expect more authentic and expertly prepared items on the plate. We had a good meal but I might go down the street to another establishment the next time I am in St. Louis.
Wasabi's food was high quality and fairly priced. The scallop volcano roll was AWESOME! We also had the friend rice and an assortment of other rolls. Everyone in the party loved their food. We ordered green tea ice cream for dessert and it was some of the best we have every had. It comes slightly different - wrapped in rice paper with a little powdered sugar - but it worth it!
Loved the hostess! Very friendly and fun! Atmosphere is more like a deli. Food was delicious. Servers had great attitudes! Very busy at the time! I would return very easy walk from the Dome.
Feeling thirsty? Blink and you'll miss it. These servers are so fast, even during busy hours, that you might just find your drink refilled, even if you don't want it. You gotta be fast if you DON'T want to have you drink refilled. The fish is amazing, I looked for all the characteristics of frozen fish, splitting, discoloration, I couldn't find any. They appear to have a limited wine list, and sake list, but that doesn't stop what limited selections they have from being amazing. I never tried any as I'm not a major wine drinker, or sake drinker. Reservations are often not needed, but on weekends, especially Sunday evenings, that could change.
My group had a reservation for 11:45 on a weekday. We were seated promptly when we arrived and ordered our food around noon. The waitress said the sushi orders would be slightly delayed, which we said would be fine. At 12:30 we asked about getting our checks so that when our food came out we could eat quickly and run as we had a 1:00 meeting down the street to get to. When the waitress brought our checks at 12:35 she said the chef would be STARTING our sushi in about 5 minutes. We had to leave to get to our meeting so we just left, and went back to the office hungry. For a business in the heart of Wash Ave, I really can't believe that they were so unprepared to handle a lunch crowd. I have really enjoyed their food in the past, but I would hesitate to return after this experience.
This is our favorite of the Wasabi Restaurants in the area :) The sushi is always amazing and the staff couldnt be better!!!! Especially our waitress Kristyn! She was the best!!! Can't wait til our next trip!!
We went for Valentine's Day, and the service was amazing. Our waitress was so sweet, she brought out some hot soup before our meal to warm us up. It was so cold that day and so the restaurant it's self was freezing, the soup was a nice gesture.
I made reservations online and they couldn't find them. Our water glasses stayed empty the entire meal. The waitress also forgot to write my meal down. So my boyfriends meal came and I had no food. She apologized and said she was having it made then. The order was done and was made with shrimp instead of chicken. She apologized again and finally my meal was brought out. I ordered chicken teriyaki and there was a total of 7 tiny pieces of chicken on the plate. The rest was vegetables. We were also never asked if we wanted another alcoholic beverage. Overall we will never be going back to an uh wasabi. My boyfriend was done with my meal before mine even came out and mine did not taste good. This was his birthday dinner too. Very awful experience
We loved our entire meal - Favorite rolls were Mr. Kim's and Playgirl! The mochi was DELICIOUS!
Fresh fish, normal menu
All our rolls were delicious. My dad really enjoyed his salmon skin hand roll. I thought the miso soup had alot more flavor than a lot of places. The ambiance left bit to be desired, but the service was quick and accurate.
The food was really good however our waitress was clueless. She offered multiple discounts and free beverages after forgetting to our appetizer order entirely. She also did not get our sushi order correct and had to go back to the kitchen to request the correct roll. It was nice to be compensated with the discounts but not exactly the birthday experience I was wanting for my husband.
I do not know St. Louis well. I googled best sushi in St. Louis and got this place. Very good. Not a fancy place. Not quite the ambiance or presentation of NYC sushi restaurants but also not as outrageously expensive.
I was allowed to make reservations for Wasabi Downtown for 9:30pm even though the restaurant closes at 10pm. Open Table says it closes at 12am but that is NOT TRUE. We were served and waited on after closing (along with several other tables). Did not leave until 11:20pm. I felt bad for the waitresses and the chefs since the restaurant was full even at 11pm but they said this has been an ongoing problem that they are trying to fix.
