Established in 1997 Waraji has been offering an extensive selection of sushi, sashimi & authentic Japanese cuisine. We also feature a unique selection of Japanese microbrewery rice-based beers. Our sushi menu includes the highest quality sushi and sashimi including omakase, japanese uni, hirame, spanish bluefin, madai, king salmon, hamachi and a wide variety of specialty house rolls (Scary Jerry, Hinata, and The Sweet Dragon just to name a few) Our authentic kitchen offers a full menu of tempura, teriyaki grilled items, nabeyaki udon, katsudon, sukiyaki, shabu shabu hotpot, A5 wagyu, ishiyaki, chawanmushi, age nasu, gyudon. Chef Masa, with over 30 years of sushi experience, invites you to join him and his staff for a true taste of Japan.

Waraji added an Izakaya Lounge which has the largest Sake and Japanese Whiskey selection in the Carolinas. Also, we carry Japanese Beers such as Matcha IPA, Orion, Sapporo, Kirin, Asahi, and Echigo Koshihikari as well as a fine selection of wine.

We enjoyed our first visit the food and service was excellent. We had a great time and found a new Japanese restaurant to frequent.

The sauces did not have very good flavors , and I even asked for others to try … none very good . Portions big , but none overwhelming in flavor . Great Sake selections . Our server , Celeste , was wonderful !

Came in for a business lunch with other co workers and everything was great. Food , wait staff all great. Would recommend anytime.

Everything is good, but be cautious with the Matcha IPA. If you look on-line it is green tea powder mixed with beer. Not what you would expect an IPA to taste like.

We had a 7pm reservation but weren’t served until nearly an hour later. Unfortunately, the quality of the food didn’t justify the high prices. It’s disappointing to see that the food is no longer what it used to be. Sadly, we won’t be returning.

Shaiel was an outstanding waitress. She made our experience excellent and the treatment was really very close and we loved it. Next time we will request her to be with us!
