Walnut Grill - O'Fallon
Maybe for breakfast, I was not overly impressed with my lunch. Nobody I was with raved about the food.
We have been to Walnut Grill many times. This time was to celebrate Mother’s Day. Well.....our food was undercooked, drinks were never refilled (or even offered), our appetizer plates were still on the table when our meal was finished. Had to sent our filet’s back twice before they were cooked as ordered. Will go again; BUT, not on a holiday.
Mother’s Day. It was understandable as it was a busy day and they seemed a bit overwhelmed but they are always nice and the manager is striving to make your visit comfortable and timely.
We went to Walnut Grill for Mother's Day Brunch. The food was good, but I wouldn't rave about it to anyone, and I wouldn't make a point of going back for the brunch. Although the restaurant was only seating people with reservations, the staff seemed overwhelmed by the amount of people that were in the restaurant. The brunch food was often running low and not refilled quickly. The service was excellent. Our waitress was very good and the manager was visible and trying to take care of the overflow of people.
The food was pretty good. The manager seemed to be really great. Just talked with him a bit at the front. Didn’t express any issues. The waitress was new and just ok. Seemed to disappear for extended periods. Hopefully once she is fully trained that won’t be an issue. Overall I really enjoyed the restaurant.
Staff was very friendly . The menu contains some unique offerings. Food was delicious.
Good food. Comfortable atmosphere. Excellent server named Blaine.
The server could not tell us what salad dressings they had. Only that there was a "bunch" and honey mustard was not among them. They should call it lobsterless bisque that can be consumed with a straw. Everything tasted of greasy. Server walked past 4 times and did not ask about refills (we were the only table). Way overpriced. Never again will we ever go there.
You can always count on Walnut Grill for a great meal and experience.
We went for Sunday morning brunch, great experience. We had a waitress in training and she was excellent. Food was served hot, which is always appreciated.
Menu has lots of options and quality food. Our waiter was friendly and took good care of us. We will be back for sure!
Food and service was great.
Ambiance and noise level was bleh.
Annoyed they lost my reservation. I had to show them the email confirming, and then was seated promptly.
Food and service is always great, I just feel as a whole this place could be so more more than it is.
We had been here many times before and always had a very good experience. This time, not so much. They were out of a popular alcoholic beverage and our food was over cooked and not as we ordered it. Maybe it was just a bad night for the kitchen staff
Wide variety on the menu - and all the items we ordered were very, very good. Lettuce wrap was excellent. Pot stickers were tasty. I had steak that was good. Swordfish looked very good.
I would never order the gnocchi again. Was horrible and I couldn't eat it. Tasted like frozen gnocchi in canned tomato soup.
Went for the Bloody Mary and Mimosa bar and some food. The Bloody Mary Bar was not restocked and had to ask multiple times for things as basic as olives.
Best restaurant in OFallon, MO. Excellent food, reasonable alcohol prices. Fine addition to an area that is glutted with fast food restaurants and other chains.
Nice experience. Food was very good ! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Good variety of choices on the menu with some dishes that are different than what i usually see which is good to experience.
Good dinner for Valentines
We got the Chicken Ladue and Chicken Spedieni. Both excellent!
I’ve been to this location 4-5 times in the last 4 months, hoping it will change. It’s a good menu with lots of options and convenient to where I live. But it doesn’t change. It doesn’t matter if I sit outside, in the bar, or in the restaurant. The food quality is good (not great), but the service, while friendly, is painfully slow. They seem chronically understaffed.
This is the first time we tried Walnut Grill. The waiter was great, the food was yummy, and they were super patient with my toddler!
We were disappointed in the food. My pork nachos only had a little bit or Pork and Cheese on the top and all other chips were bare. My wife’s salad had only a few walnuts and very little blue cheese. They seem to skimp on the toppings for all that was ordered. My wife also ordered a salad that you had to cut the large lettuce leaves yourself which is fine but it was served on a small plate which meant it all fell off the plate anytime you went to cut the lettuce.
When we first arrived at the restaurant, our reservation was missing from their system. They had incorrectly put it on a different date. With it being NYE, the manager helped to get us a table, but we had to wait for 35 minutes. Mistakes happen, however we weren’t offered anything for the mistake and for having to wait the extended period of time. Once we sat down, it took the waitress 20 minutes to come to our table to order drinks and it wasn’t even busy at that point. Once we were able to order drinks we waited another extended period of time to get those drinks and order our appetizers and dinner. Throughout the dining experience, there were several mistakes made by the waitress, but then when meals were delivered, my mothers dinner had been dropped and wasn’t ready, the manager, again, didn’t offer anything and brought my mom her sides to eat without her meal? So while others ate, she enjoyed green beans and mashed potatoes. The waitress never came back to check on us, so when she did we were done with our meals. The two people that ordered the Grouper special didn’t eat their meals at all, as they were awful tasting. When the waitress was asked to deduct the grouper by half price on one of them, she made a spectacle of the request and handled it with absolutely no professionalism. A manager never came over to inquire about the situation the entire time. Lastly, we got our checks that were incorrect as well, thus taking another 20 minutes for us to get out of the restaurant. All in all, everything that happened could have been handled much more professionally if the wait staff or manager had any idea of how to handle customer service. Wouldn’t recommend the food, service, or restaurant to anyone.
Love Walnut Grill brunch. Especially the salads. Yum!
This was our first visit to Walnut Grill. The staff were very polite and attentive. Brooke was our server and outstanding even though she was very busy. Food was hot when served and tasted phenomenal. There will definitely more visits in the future. I wish I would've thought to take pictures but was too busy enjoying the food. :-)
We visited on a Sunday to try to Sunday special, Chicken Speidini. We were definitely not disappointed!! We started off with a cocktail which was crafted to perfection. When the meal was served we were served with a wonderful meal which was seasoned great and very generous portions! The pasta which was served with the speidini was tasty as well! We can’t wait to go back. The specials served here are always a great!
Restaurant said they didn’t have my open table reservation at arrival. They did accommodate with a high top bar table. Food was good and the pick 2 combo was a nice lunch option.
Unfortunately food came out luke warm, not good when it’s fish and Chicken. By 9:00 it was completely dead on a Saturday night. Drink specials very weak. I was told that’s how they keep cost down on drink specials.
Much better places for the $$.
Unfortunate because it’s a really nice place inside. Our waitress was really nice.
Excellent, wide-ranging menu, fantastic service! Enjoyed the unique cocktails!
My husband and I ate at Walnut Grill for the first time and were very pleased. Great outdoor seating, great waitress and the food was absolutely delicious. Will definitely go back.
I love Walnut Grill and have been there for dinner on lots of occasions, always recommending to friends and family. I have never been there for breakfast, so decided to take a friend there. She ordered lunch which she had no complaints about, but the breakfast entree I ordered was horrible. I had chicken and waffles--menu should definitely designate when something comes with jalapenos all over it, the waffle was overcooked to the point of burnt, chicken portion is too small and the amount of syrup on the dish was non-existent. I was so disappointed! I never write poor reviews but felt it was warranted in this case. I can not recommend Walnut Grill for breakfast to anyone in good conscience.
Our experience was great. Food was good and service was great. We were celebrating a birthday and received a dessert plus one for the table for using the online reservation service. We plan on returning.
Good place for dinner or just drink.
This is the place to go if you want to book a private room for a large party. This is my 3rd large party to attend and every time the staff is professional, knowledgable, very friendly and never seem stressed taking care of 30 very loud women who are not in their seats! I love the chicken spiedini, the Farfelle chicken pasta and the spinach artichoke appetizer .
Our service the last 2 visits has been slow, even though the restaurant was not busy either time.
We love Walnut Grill! Making a reservation before we leave is great. Fish tacos are tasty and we love the wide variety of beer. Kids menu is good too!
