We were seated in the bar so noise level is higher and we were near the windows and it was cold. This location always seems to be short on servers and so service was (as always in our experience) spotty. We almost had to trip our server to get our bill. Food came out hot and tasty - as advertised. Wine options are pricey - and pour is not as generous as the price. We will probably try the chesterfield valley location to see if they manage more consistent service.
The Lobster Mac And Cheese was great as was the Chicken Spidinni
Was a great Valentines dinner for 2 and fantastic food
Anniversary
Had to change tables because group next to us was very loud.
Have had lunch there several times, always enjoyed it. This is my first time to have dinner there in a long time. Had the steak and Salmon combo, thought it was just okay.
They told me they don't honor open table reservation. They stopped serving when we got there. The manager was apologetic. We want to support local when possible
Ordered a Manhattan straight up and it arrived in a glass with ice. Instead of mixing it properly, it was just dumped warm into a martini glass. Waitress disappeared and we had to repeatedly ask for her because the salad has no dressing on it. Apricot salmon was disappointing and the chicken spiedini had a grill mark on it but was baked.
Open table reserved a table for us. We get there and they were only taking walk ins only. We waited for 20 minutes just to talk to an employee there that told us we didn’t have a reservation. There were no available tables. We left to find another place to eat.
Slow service but not their fault
The food has always been good. Best Happy Hour in town!
Server was not attentive at all. Steak had no flavor. Apps were good tho.
outstanding food and service . We felt very safe with the virus safe guards in place
We really enjoy the bread and they were out of bread. The prime rib sandwich was too smoky of flavor
You always do such a good job. Thank you. Also it is nice to feel safe in restaurants, many I do not then I do not go back.
We were sat at a dirty table. We were not told we would be charged full price for appetizers. Found out that we need to sit at the bar or outside when we got the bill for the 1/2 appetizer. The meat ball pasta had the consistence of cat food. It was our first visit. It was our 33 wedding anniversary. My poor wife says never again.
All aspects of our experience was as excellent as it has always been. We love the place, and the drive from Saint Charles is no deterrent to us going there.
Reception and waitress were inattentive and slow. After havinf a drink and appetizer, I was never asked whether I wanted another drink nor were the dirty plates cleared from our table until we stacked everything and our dinner arrived.
Now here is a safe place to dine inside. Everyone had masks on. Food was good, just great getting out like Normal!
Large selection of different types of food. Good quality of food. Amazing wait staff. Quiet for a romantic dinner. Great mixed drinks!
The food was good.
They seemed to be s little short staffed; service was slow.
Following our inability to dine out for months, Walnut Grill did not disappoint us. As much as the food, drinks, & service were as superior as ever, the guidelines for protecting it’s workers & customers were being followed with tables separated & masks worn by all employees. It was just unfortunate that the clientele were not following the medical community’s guidelines RE wearing masks.
Great food and drinks, reasonable prices, and a nice patio to enjoy with friends.
Thank you for your 5 star review, Linda ! We look forward to serving you again.
So first time eating out for three months. Everything totally put me at ease. All servers and bartenders had masks on. When someone left the table they immediately sanitized. Outdoors was open most people outside. Everything was GREAT! So, good getting back to normal. People had masks on only at entrance and off they went. Perfect job guys!
Viv1070, Thank you for the 5 star review! We want to make sure people are as comfortable as possible in this trying time! We look forward to serving you again.
Great crabcake and salad! Drinks delish!
Thank you for your 4 star review, we look forward to serving you again!
I thought the food was excellent and would've given five stars overall but there was no soap in the women's bathroom, two dispensers empty, which is disgusting at the best of times but in the current climate especially, I found to be unacceptable. I told the hostess and she seemed to already know, did not apologize or do anything about it. There was still no soap when I went to wash my hands at the end of our dinner, after eating burgers with sticky sauce. That is not okay with me. If it wasn't for the great food I would've given one star.
Food was good and patio was open for seating. Tables were distance nicely. It got fairly busy early which impacted the server some but otherwise was good.
Good food and beer. Good prices and. goood location.
My first time! Everything was fantastic!
Always great service at Walnut Grill. The food is wonderful. I like the variety on the menu. They are wonderful about accommodating my gluten sensitivity.
Great on all levels. Food as fresh and delicious and service was great. Appreciate that the noise level was low and that we could actually have a conversation with our friends without yelling. We’ll return!
Good food good service good value
We are very disappointed with our experience. We had a 7:45 and didn't get seated until 8:20. No one took our drink order for several minutes and food delivery was slow.
The food was delicious but we waited about 30 minutes with a reservation. Perhaps too many reservations were made for the dinner hour on Valentines Day.
Great Valentines dinner. One of our favorite places to dine.
Thank you for the 5 star review! We hope to see you again soon, Russ!
Great meal and experience at Walnut Grill in Ellisville. Nice table and great service. They did an excellent job for Valentines.
The whole experience was disappointing. The server was very condescending and treated us with little respect. She never cleared dishes throughout the meal. Her appearance was unprofessional for the restaurant. Service was extremely slow. The steak wasn’t prepared correctly and sides were cold. I will not return.
Valentines Day. There is nothing to complain about. It was crowded for 5:30pm. The help was a bit understaffed as there was one couple in the SW corner booth who wanted to have that extra attention and fussed at the server. I think it threw the service detail off. Overall it was ok.
No dessert offered.
Grilled shrimp overcooked.
$10 martini a bit much
Service very good considering the crowd
We enjoyed ourselves immensely. Our server, Susan, was outstanding! Everything was great!
