The Wallace Restaurant is a London dining experience just waiting to be discovered. Flooded with natural light and dotted with trees and sculptures, the restaurant offers an elegant lunch and afternoon tea in a sublime setting protected from both the elements and the bustle of the West End. Stop by our stunning courtyard and enjoy our drop-in café.

Make a reservation for:
A La Carte or Set Lunch Menu any day between 12:00 - 14:30.
Afternoon tea service, 7 days a week, between 10:00- 16:00.

Please provide any dietary restrictions and/or allergies at least 48 hours in advance so we can guarantee accommodation.

We kindly ask all guests to vacate the building by the museum closing time of 5pm.

Delusions of grandeur is a fitting description for the afternoon tea. The scones tasted store bought. They were luke warm when they arrived because they left the plates unattended for 10 min. The sweets tasted like cheap bulk frozen pasteries. That just had been defrosted and thrown on a plate. All artifical flavours. There is a big gap between the grandeur of the free collection and the atmosphere of the café. The café's quality was very poor and cheap, although this was not reflected on the bill. 100£ for two cups of tea, 4 scones and a few uneaten sandwiches and inedible pasteries... We walked right into a touris trap. Just visit the collection and find an other place for your afternoon tea.

Really enjoyable lunch in such pretty surroundings. Perfect place to meet for lunch. Very helpful & attentive staff. U fortunately my chouce for lunch (quiche) had run out but alternative was very tasty. More salad garnish would’ve been appreciated. Would highly recommend going there.

Lovely location, very good service from friendly staff who are very well managed, and trained. Enjoyed pour food and lovely rise from Provence. Thank you.

Very nice place to eat, particularly when visiting the collection. Good menu, with options for full meals at good prix fixe prices, or smaller mains. I’m coming back for the tea sometime - it looked yummy!

I visited The Wallace yesterday for my 22nd birthday, and to say the experience was disappointing would be an understatement. From the moment we arrived, the service was cold, dismissive, and frankly unacceptable for any restaurant. First, we had to ask for directions just to find the restaurant with no clear signage or greeting on arrival. Once we made it to the conservatory area, we were shocked to find it over 30°C inside with no air conditioning, no fans, and no visible attempt to make diners comfortable in what felt like a greenhouse. It was genuinely unfit for purpose. We were seated at a table in direct sunlight, which was absolutely stifling. When we politely asked to move, the waitress rolled her eyes, didn’t help us move any of our belongings, and threw the menu on the new table without saying a word. No greeting or apology and no basic courtesy. I think she said a total of three words to us and I was shocked by such rudeness! Another staff member came by and asked if we wanted water and we also asked if there was any shade or fans available. His curt response: “No, it’s all we’ve got.” No empathy and no solutions. To make matters worse, I observed waitstaff repeatedly delivering food and drinks to the wrong tables, clearly unsure of which orders belonged where. Watching plates being passed around between guests especially in the heat made the entire atmosphere feel chaotic and unhygienic. It honestly put me off even considering staying to eat. At that point, we decided to leave. I wasn’t about to spend my birthday sweating through lunch while being treated like an inconvenience by the staff. I rarely leave reviews like this, but this was just awful. No one should have to walk out of a supposedly refined venue just to feel respected or comfortable, especially not on a special occasion!

Wonderful setting. Very relaxed. Food is average quite a good choice.. staff were very friendly. A lovely place to meet and chat in that part of London
