Our dinner at Vivian was spectacular. everything was perfect. The food was beautifully presented and always came out to the table quickly. Our servers were phenomenal as well.
The smoked oysters and ribeye were perfect. The demi glace with the steak was the best I have ever had! The service was attentive and wine recommendations were spot on. The energy and ambience was warm and welcoming. One of the owners, Shannon, came by our table and was genuinely personable. That was truly appreciated. It was great to see the enthusiastic involvement by the owners during service. Highly recommend.
Best food, best ambiance in Asheville.
Excellent experience at Vivian! New favorite spot in town.
Vivian est le meilleur absolu à tous égards. Merci!
The fried chicken was perfect!
Excellent service and the food was perfect. Patio area was comfortable and shaded. Very accommodating.
Visited from Wilmington for the weekend. We enjoyed every single thing we ordered from both the food and craft cocktail menues. Really fresh and creative dishes that left us more than satisfied. 100% will be back.
Amazing as always
Great service, food and atmosphere. When we come back to Asheville, we will enjoy Vivian again.
This is a great place to come to
Best food I had in the Asheville area by far.
The dessert -- Ice Cream Sandwich is not to be missed -- We own a restaurant in DC and will be kidnapping it!!
Tried many items on the menu. The scallop quenelle was a standout, the flounder, excellent as well as the Nordic deviled eggs. Only a little disappointed in the Viv's Hors d Oeurve... Very nice meal.
Great vibe, food and service. When I go back to Asheville I will definitely go there again.
Awesome location in river arts district. quiet, quaint. great cocktail options. the duck and lamb kebabs were delightful. ice cream sundae dessert is a must.
We ate early. Parking was available right in the front of the restaurant. The steak with the cipollini onions and special steak sauce was delicious as was the pork belly.
Wonderful food and service. We sat on the patio which was warm and well insulated. Staff were helpful and friendly! We will come back next time we are in Asheville!
Overall fantastic experience! Really enjoyed the unique brunch menu!
Amazing food and service
Fantastic service and food, every single time.
Everything was perfect. Nice job! 🙌
Vivian is absolutely our favorite place to eat, incredible food, friendly staff and great atmosphere. Always treated amazing and everything on the menu is done perfectly every time. Brunch menu takes the dining experience to another level which for a foodie town like Asheville is no easy feat. The bar is definitely raised anytime Vivian puts a new item on the menu.
With only a date here and there without little ones generally acting like gremlins at the table it is such a treat to have somewhere to decompress and treat ourselves.
Vivian is the best!
The service was phenomenal. The food and drinks we got were delicious. The menu isn’t very big but everything we got was delicious
As usual excellent service and everyone in our group had something different, and all very pleased. Look forward to our next visit to the best restaurant in Asheville.
We love Vivian. Beautiful presentation and delicious food. Professional and courteous service. One of our very favorite places!
Good food, unique dishes and great service! Very unique ambiance I. The art district and a cool vibe if you want to check out an area outside of downtown Asheville. Cocktails were great too. Menu was a bit limited but great food none the less!
One of our absolute favorite places for dinner and drinks! They always have something new on the menu and great wine to compliment any dish. Highly recommend!
Un was a spectacular waiter
Can’t wait to return!!
Best fried chicken in AVL! If you haven’t tried it yet, do yourself a favor.
I dine out plenty and have travelled a fair amount. This is my favorite restaurant anywhere. The menu allows me to stretch my palate, and I have yet to be disappointed when I do. At Vivian I’ve eaten foie gras, beef tartare, bone marrow, etc - things I never thought I’d try. And I always love them. At this point, my motto for Vivian meals is “if Chef Josiah and team make it, I’ll eat it.” The service staff is also incredible. Lots of outstanding dining in Asheville, but Vivian beats them all. It’s just always a fantastic experience.
We enjoyed Sunday brunch at Vivian. My husband got the lamb benedict and I got the 2-egg breakfast. All were nicely cooked and flavorful. Hubs loved the lamb. We were seated on the heated patio and although it was cold outside, we were warm enough. Service was good. We will eat there again.
Visited Vivian for Sunday Brunch. Service and Food were excellent!
Fabulous all around. Will be back again and again.
The menu ruined the experience. To tell people IN WRITING they need to provide their full dinner order at one time and then tell people they need to leave when they’re done eating and not linger is ridiculous. Felt arrogant and pompous. And for crying out loud dim the lights in the evening. It felt like a cheap lunch spot. Though the beef tartare was great and the waiter was nice.
Charming ambiance and service. Appreciated the outdoor seating during covid times. Everything was delicious, but the biscuits, smoked oysters, and Nordic deviled eggs especially blew us away! The eggs Benedict with lamb and the green garlic and caramelized onion quiche were such a treat, too. First meal back at a restaurant and it was all we’ve been longing for and more.
Everything so super spot on and executed perfectly.
As a part time Asheville local, Vivian is a favorite of mine and my husband’s. Shannon and Josiah are some of the nicest and most talented chef/owners in town (and beyond). They get super creative with the menus and never disappoint. Whether a romantic dinner on the patio or brunch with friends, Vivian is the place to go when visiting or living in AVL!
We were greeted by a super-friendly hostess and got a great pour and some good wine recs from the bartender. Unfortunately, our server was uninterested and unhelpful with the menu and did not to make our experience memorable. The flounder was tasty and well-cooked but did have alot of bones. Another table complained about that, too. The pork belly was more of a belly-flop. We ate outside which didn't have much charm, but the inside was cozy and quirky. Hate to give a less than stellar ovation, cuz hey, it's covid and really, that's just not fair to a place which has gotten such laudable reviews. I think it's worth another trip!
Vivian is my favorite local restaurant. I have always received great food and service...but Saturday night the service was lacking. Brought a friend who was visiting from out of town and when she asked about the lightest beer on tap he suggested the IPA over the Pilsner which was confusing ...then we ordered 2 of the deviled eggs and the sun chokes...which came out quick and were both delicious. We ordered our entrees when we ordered the apps but they didn’t come out for about an hour after the apps. The plates were never cleared off the table. My partner and I requested to split the steak ...but it was brought out on one plate with no side plates. The server did not let my friend know that the fish would be full of pin bones when she ordered ...or after he delivered the fish to her. She took the first bite and proceeded to choke on a mouth full of bones. He did come back after a few minutes to inform her of the bones. The steak was delicious but sadly she didn’t enjoy her fish...she wouldn’t have ordered this dish had she been aware of the bones. We had the coconut cake for dessert and it was great. Vivian is our go to spot to bring guests and for date night and we will continue to come ...we were just a bit out off by our experience on Saturday.
Just the best meal and service. It was great to get back to this place since covoid started. The salad was insanely delicious!
