Vito's Sicilian Pizzeria & Ristorante
Great food but the service was slow for not having many patrons. Appetizers took a really long time.
Laid back and minimalistic. Clean and simple pizza joint.
The restaurant has remodeled and looks great. I really nice place for a date and great food
We were early, but were seated right away. The booth was super small - but it worked. The wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable. It didn't take long to get our food - it was hot and very, very yummy. Since we were celebrating my birthday we enjoyed a piece of their Italian wedding cake - Oh my goodness - I've never had melt in your mouth cake before. It was so good.
The dining area is pretty cramp. I was sitting at a table for two, one side was a bench and the other a chair. I was sitting in the outside of the table in the chair. The aisle behind me was only about two feet wide ans I always felt like someone was going to run into my chair.
Our main course arrived about 15 minutes after we ordered. My wife had salmon, and, I had chicken. I could tell that the food had either been kept in warmers or was reheated. My vegetables were hardly warm at all and the noodles were about the same.
We had two meals and two salads. The bill with tax was right at $61.00. I felt for the quality of the food it was much too expensive. I would not return or recommend this restaurant to a friend.
Packed—-and due to the fact that there was a party of SEVENTEEN who did not vacate their tables in a timely fashion, several parties were not seated by the time of their reservations (including OUR part of four). BUT....the servers were really GOOD and seemed to take everything into stride! Our server was patient and very pleasant—-especially considering the large party had several small children which were literally running all over....definitely a hazard to servers!! Kudos to servers for holding it together!!
The waitress was interested in our group and immediately sensed what we needed.
Wonderful food and great service. Will definitely come back.
Attentive service without being intrusive. Delicious sauce on the pizza. Cassata was wonderfully light. Great beer selections on tap. Waitperson was knowledgeable about the beers, and let us sample the two we were deciding between. You can reserve a table or a high top, it’s nice to have that option.
Food was outstanding. Everything was delicious and totally worth every penny.
Vito's has always been known for having some of the best pizza in St. Louis, and THE best pizza in midtown. Great place to go after a SLU basketball game or an event at Chaifetz arena, or before or after an event at the Fabulous Fox.
Several good experiences at Vitos. This time was dinner for party of 7 with reservation prior to show at the nearby Fox theatre. Very busy, but table was ready when we arrived, fast and friendly service, good food and accommodating of special requests. We'll be back!
Great food and great service! Great place to go before a show at the Fox Theater.
I really enjoyed my meal at Vito's. The bread was perfect, exactly as bread should be, the Sicilian style pizza was fabulous, and overall, it was a memorable experience. The staff was very nice, especially our waitress!
Went to Vito’s before a show at the Fox. Food was great, pizza was fantastic (we took more home). We will be back.
We ate lunch at Vito's before going to a matinee at The Fabulous Fox. Vito's offered an option of a lunch buffet or ordering off the menu. We chose to enjoy the lunch buffet that offered a pasta, salad, soup and various pizza offerings. Each of the offerings was very good. We would recommend Vito's for a great Italian meal before or after the theater.
Good pizzas; expensive entrees. Would come back for the pizza for sure;
The food was good and our server was great. Even though we had a reservation, we weren't greeted and didn't feel immediately welcome. We were seated in the middle of a very busy section by the bar & were bumped several times when staff moved chairs etc. The service was quick and we liked the proximity to Powell Hall & The Fox Theatre.
My favorite place to eat and drink before or after the Fox Theatre.
This restaurant was right near our hotel and we chose to eat there before a show at the Fox. I would suggest reservations - we tried to get them days ahead of time and still didn’t get the exact time we needed. But we’re glad we could eat there! We had the pasta and pizza and they were both good!
Food was great. Service was good. The steak strips came as a steak without a steak knife so we had to try and cut it with a butter knife. Also it was rare so if you order be sure to let them know how you’d like it cooked. Would eat there again. Wait staff was great and food was overall good.
Consistently great food and service
Our go to place before the theater
We waited too long for our server to make contact with us, then our food was cold when it got to our table. We had theater tickets so we just ate it room temperature and went a about our evening. Our water glasses were empty more then they were full. We typically have good experiences at Vito's so hopefully this is a one time situation.
Vito's was pretty busy on Sat night, and our 6:15 reservation really helped us get seated so we could eat before going to the symphony. We were immediately seated and given menus, and Indira our waitress stopped by very quickly to take our order. The complimentary bread was heavy and dense, which my wife did not enjoy, but I thought was good. Salads arrived shortly after, Tricolore for me and Panzanella for my wife, and were very good. Entrees arrived a few minutes after we finished our salads, beef tortellini for me and rigatoni w/ broccoli in alfredo sauce for my wife. And both were very good. Indira quickly checked in when we they were gone, and since we chose to skip dessert, brought the check right away. We were out the door with plenty of time to make it to the symphony.
This was the best calzone I have ever eaten. The dough was even tasty by itself!
Vito's is conveniently located within walking distance of The Fabulous Fox, so it's an obvious choice for dinner before the show. I usually split the salmon pasta, which is not on many local restaurant menus. Salads are consistently fresh. Portions are not oversized, so leftovers are not an issue.
Wonderful pizza and calzone.Salad was fresh with lettuce, cheese and olives, but dressing was flat. Our server, Jesse was personable and attentive. Definitely recommend Vito’s.
Love going to Vitos pre or post the Fox Theater. Their lasagna is amazing. Gotta get a jar of marinara each visit.
Great food. Service was good. Enjoyable pre-show meal with family.
Our waiter, Jessie, was fantastic, and they were very accommodating of my friend, who must eat gluten free due to Celiac's disease.
We love Vito's. We go there as often as we can and have brought others with us on occasion. It's a great place if you are going to the Fox or another entertainment venue in the area too.
Before a show at Fox Theatre
One of our favorites when going to the nearby theaters. We've always had good food and good service. We recommend the arancini appetizer. Would definitely give this place a "thumbs up"
This was was excellent all around. Food was great and service was perfect with a friendly and very attentive waiter. Great place to go before a show, just give yourself enough time as we did.
We have been coming for three years and still love it. We would like to see their web site consistent with reservations (opening times vary by 30 minutes), however. Service is always friendly and professional.
Our service was terrible. I can't give you his name, because he never mentioned it. Was forgetful with our drinks, terrible with refills. Never came back after we requested more bread or refills on drinks. Food took forever, I'm sure he screwed up, because people who arrived after us got their meals way
before us. Pasta dishes were lukewarm.
When I have to ask for bread at an Italian restaurant, there’s something wrong with this picture.
