Stationed in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago, Virtue is a Southern American restaurant that leads with a culture of hospitality & kindness. We’ve worked hard to create a warm, honest & thoughtful space. We pride ourselves on unpretentious service, timing & most importantly providing great value. At Virtue we use heritage techniques to create some familiar flavors, & some new ones. We hope to see you soon.

My friend and I went to Virtue for a Sunday night dinner. I thought the ambience and music was excellent. We split the short rib and the salmon, as well as the Mac and cheese and the cornbread with honey butter. We thought the sides were fine, but my friend said the Mac was better the first time she went to Virtue a few months ago, and I thought the honey butter was more memorable than the cornbread itself as the cornbread only stayed warm for a few minutes. The salmon was delicious and cooked well, and the short rib was good. We really liked the cocktails- I had the southern flower and she had the uncle honey. Overall, we agreed the meal was about a 7.5/10. I think it was slightly overhyped to me prior to dining in, but I would still go back another time.

I brought my wife to Virtue for her birthday and we were not disappointed. The food was seasoned perfectly. Everything we tried was amazing. The service and atmosphere were fantastic. This place deserves 5 stars in every category. We will definitely be back.

Great food and excellent service. I had the best fish and grits I’ve ever had in my life here. The mac and cheese was perfect. The greens were leafy and cooked just right.

The Blackened Catfish and mac and cheese was amazing!!! The music was amazing and fit the ambiance of the restaurant. Oh and that key lime pie was perfect!!! Our server was amazing and the manager was amazing as well.

Absolutely magnificent!! the staff made incredible suggestions for both drinks and food. They were prompt and attentive. The food was out of this world good. The short ribs were falling off the bone and the salmon melted in my mouth. Highly recommend!!

Food was great, service was great. I had the short ribs, OMG awesome! The menu is small, wish the had a few more options, but definitely will be returning hopefully they'll still have the King Salmon (my favorite fish) on the menu.

Creative southern food, with delicious and surprising accents!! We loved it....literally from the first to very last bites!! Such a treat! Quality from start to finish. Excellent service from every single employee!! We will recommend and return!!
