Always a delicious meal....the arancini amazing, and homemade fusilli a great option.
The atmosphere is old-school, and it’s really cool that the front is a deli/ store. The food was outstanding and portions are huge! Our waitress was fantastic. They made the best out of the COVID guidelines.
The meal was very good but my capreses salad wasnt as fresh as I’m use to.
The food at Vinny’s is always on point. The homemade pasta is yummy. The bread they give you when you are seated is sooooo good . I could eat a whole loaf. Partying they survive the pandemic. It would be a real loss if they don’t make it
First of all, we love Vinny's. However, this time the reservation service was not very good. We had a 7:00 pm Open Table reservation. They sat us at 7:45 pm. We stood there for 45 minutes.
Once we were seated the food was still very, very good and the table server was good but obviously working too many tables and not very engaging.
We have been visiting Vinny's for many, many years. This is a special year with many challenges. I can't be too hard on them and we will definitely be coming back soon.
Hopefully this helps them to address these glitches. Thank you.
The food was great and the service was excellent.
Will return again.
Terrific food and service as usual. As good as any Italian restaurant in area. Adhered to all COVID restrictions. Will return
Great vibe, fantastic food and superb service. Love it here.
Vinnys is outstanding in every respect. The food is authentic Sicilian cuisine. Fresh veal and homemade pasta. Servers Johnny and Victoria are excellent.
The food is stellar. Great appetizers. I had eggplant parm, which was outstanding. Shared tiramisu for dessert. I almost never get dessert, but it was worth it. Well-priced selection of Italian wines. Bring your appetite.
As great as always. Food ( salad, pasta, seafood) was terrific as was service. Our favorite. Don’t bother with the hassle of the North End. Vinny’s is better. COVID restrictions in place. Can’t wait to return
Great as always
Awesome meal as always
Truly excellent
Outstanding food!! Can’t wait to go back!
Lovely manicotti special in one of the homiest places to eat in Boston. Attentive friendly service and great Sicilian food! A destination restaurant in East Somerville!
My dining experience was terrible. We waited almost an hour for our meal and we had to ask our waiter about the status versus the waiter being proactive about why it was taking so long for our meals to arrive. Something obviously went wrong, either the waiter forgot to put in the order or the cooks forgot about our order, because a couple that was seated after us not only had their meals arrive in about 20 minutes, but they had already finished their meal by the time our entrees arrived! At most restaurants, a situation like this would have resulted in at least part of our bill being comped or discounted, but not at Vinny’s. We were charged the full price for the meals. My husband was so frustrated and tired by this time that we just had the waiter put our meals in a take out bag. My husband and I have been to Vinny’s about 6 times and enjoyed our previous meals, but after this experience we won’t be going back!!!!
Considered a staple in this area, a place that people say "oh you gotta try this, they open into a restaurant at night." Does not even come close to meeting the hype. The food was subpar at best. Shocking, because the owner is Italian, and the food does not taste authentic. The soup was extremely bland, the arancini was soft, and the chicken taste like it was from a freezer.
Took some friends tonight. i found this place through open table. awesome. i keep returning. hone made pasta. huge portion sizes. DECAF CAPPUCCINO ! the calamarI WAS COOKED PERFECT. NOT CHEWY.
i had the sausage and shrimp over broccolu rabi and pasta. perfectly done. i will be back.
Love Vinnies! Had swordfish special and husband had veal parm, both very large portions. Warm fresh bread is great! Best Italian food around, authentic and inexpensive for what you get.
Its always been top shelf. And the inside changes look great .
Great friendly service from the time we walked in the door to the time we walked out. The staff was friendly and helpful, they made us feel like VIP’s. The food is Amazing, and I was surprised how fast it came for how busy they were.
The fresh made pasta was very delicious and our waitress was very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely come again.
My favorite restaurant in Somerville........nothing else compares
Excellent, as always
Amazing as always!!! Cannot wait to go back!!!
Great family restaurant, real Italian homemade pasta. Only problem is parking.
Great food, large portions. Always consistent. Good service.
I love Vinny's. Love the food, love the ambiance, love the service. So I go back there a lot. Not only is the food delicious, it's just fun to be there. This time I had the shrimp fra diavolo with angel hair pasta. Great! A little spicy, but the spiciness actually brings out the flavor rather than hides it. Perfect for a cold night.
Seated quickly and servers were all was very attentive. Food was fantastic!
I have been to this restaurant before without incident, but tonight the service was not good. There was a not a table ready for our party even though we had a reservation. Once we were seated, we waited a while for our drink order to be taken, to receive our drinks, and for our food order to be taken. After waiting for our food for over 45 minutes, we had to look for the waitress, who never came by to check in or update us. We were told that everyone in the restaurant had ordered at once, and the kitchen was backed up. After over another 20 minutes, we had to look for our waitress again because we wanted to pay for our drinks and leave without eating. We explained that we had waited long enough, but this news was no well received by the staff. I was actually embarrassed because I had highly recommended this place to the friends I was dining with, and we ended up dining somewhere else. The worst part was not even the wait, it was that the situation was so poorly handled by the staff.
Took an hour and a half to get our food. We had 3 pasta marinara dishes, a veal chop and a chicken marsala. Honestly, brutal. They were decent but not worth a 90 min wait for pasta.
Awesome as always!!
We have been to Vinny's many times and as usual, they did not disappoint. I had veal and eggplant parmesan which was awesome, friends had chicken piccata and chicken parmesan and they were also very happy. Hubby had beef braciole, which is the only thing he ever orders when we come to Vinny's. It is his absolute favorite. We did have an appetizer of fried calamari which was quite delicious too. No room for dessert, so it was just coffee and cappuccino. Overall, a wonderful dinner!
Never a bad meal ❣️
Vinnies is great. Awesome food, excellent portions and very good value. We went at 7:15 on a Saturday evening so it was crowded and a bit noisy, as to be expected. One of my favorite restaurants.
Vinny's is always a treat. It's my favorite Italian restaurant in the Boston area. The red sauce--marinara or fra diavolo--is spectacular, the osso buco is one of the great dishes--perfect for a cold winter night. The fresh haddock in a fresh tomato and basil sauce is perfection itself. Service is always attentive and friendly. It's a great place to eat and a great place to go.
Awesome food. Reservation time not honored, sat 25 minutes late. Really nice people. Place oozes local flavor
Delicious lasagna, pasta with meatballs and an antipasto. We will return😊
Just like Grandma would make (if she had known how to cook).
