Amazing as always!!! Cannot wait to go back!!!
Great family restaurant, real Italian homemade pasta. Only problem is parking.
Great food, large portions. Always consistent. Good service.
I love Vinny's. Love the food, love the ambiance, love the service. So I go back there a lot. Not only is the food delicious, it's just fun to be there. This time I had the shrimp fra diavolo with angel hair pasta. Great! A little spicy, but the spiciness actually brings out the flavor rather than hides it. Perfect for a cold night.
Seated quickly and servers were all was very attentive. Food was fantastic!
I have been to this restaurant before without incident, but tonight the service was not good. There was a not a table ready for our party even though we had a reservation. Once we were seated, we waited a while for our drink order to be taken, to receive our drinks, and for our food order to be taken. After waiting for our food for over 45 minutes, we had to look for the waitress, who never came by to check in or update us. We were told that everyone in the restaurant had ordered at once, and the kitchen was backed up. After over another 20 minutes, we had to look for our waitress again because we wanted to pay for our drinks and leave without eating. We explained that we had waited long enough, but this news was no well received by the staff. I was actually embarrassed because I had highly recommended this place to the friends I was dining with, and we ended up dining somewhere else. The worst part was not even the wait, it was that the situation was so poorly handled by the staff.
Took an hour and a half to get our food. We had 3 pasta marinara dishes, a veal chop and a chicken marsala. Honestly, brutal. They were decent but not worth a 90 min wait for pasta.
We have been to Vinny's many times and as usual, they did not disappoint. I had veal and eggplant parmesan which was awesome, friends had chicken piccata and chicken parmesan and they were also very happy. Hubby had beef braciole, which is the only thing he ever orders when we come to Vinny's. It is his absolute favorite. We did have an appetizer of fried calamari which was quite delicious too. No room for dessert, so it was just coffee and cappuccino. Overall, a wonderful dinner!
Never a bad meal ❣️
Vinnies is great. Awesome food, excellent portions and very good value. We went at 7:15 on a Saturday evening so it was crowded and a bit noisy, as to be expected. One of my favorite restaurants.
Vinny's is always a treat. It's my favorite Italian restaurant in the Boston area. The red sauce--marinara or fra diavolo--is spectacular, the osso buco is one of the great dishes--perfect for a cold winter night. The fresh haddock in a fresh tomato and basil sauce is perfection itself. Service is always attentive and friendly. It's a great place to eat and a great place to go.
Awesome food. Reservation time not honored, sat 25 minutes late. Really nice people. Place oozes local flavor
Delicious lasagna, pasta with meatballs and an antipasto. We will return😊
Just like Grandma would make (if she had known how to cook).
My friends and I went here for my birthday. I come quite often as Vinny’s is in my neighborhood. As usual the food was out of this world! I had the Eggplant special, which is fried eggplant stuffed with cheese, spinach and sundried tomatoes then baked as a Parmesan with their signature sauce. I love this place!
This place is the real deal... not for fancy pants but people who appreciate top quality, amazing Italian food and fantastic service at a very fair price. I'M IN LOVE!!!!!
Vinny's is lively and delicious – like you'd expect in any Italian home. The sauce is for real one of the best sauces I've ever tasted at any Italian restaurant – and I've been to tons. It even rivals some family sauces I know. Not naming names here ;) The eggplant special, which is now a permanent part of the menu is beyond delicious – thinly sliced, breaded eggplant layered with sun-dried tomatoes, cheese, spinach, and that inimitable sauce. And always, always bump up your pasta to one of their homemade options (fusilli or mafalde). So worth it! My boyfriend got some trio pasta special with chicken, sausage & shrimp that he said was amazing. Our friend got the chicken braciole, which she loved. In general, the entree portions are very generous, but the antipasto portioning needs a boost. Past experiences have taught me to stay away from the seafood dishes, except for shrimp, which is too bad. Cocktail service – delivered by the bartender, not your server – tends to be quite slow, but the table servers and busboys are all great. To round out your meal, you can't beat the homemade tiramisu. The tartufo is also pretty heavenly. I love Vinny's and will go back again & again & again forever.
It was great. Food was wonderful.
Best Italian food in Boston/Somerville. Had salads, chicken sausage special and seafood spectacular. All were done just right and outstanding. Great wait staff. Our favorite
We have been coming here for 5 years and the last few times have been awful. Waited 1 hour for the food that came out wrong and several of the tables were so loud we could not talk over the yelling.
I’m not going back given this was three bad experiences in a row. Before this it was great.
Great as usual!
It wasn't Vinny's best day for timely food delivery that night. We, unfortunately, waited for about an hour for our entrees. They did comp our desserts and were sincerely apologetic.
This is really unlike them - we have been there many times and love the place. Just a tough night.
As usual, the food at Vinny's was fabulous! We've been here many times and it never disappoints. The only thing that disappointed on this visit was our server. We brought another couple with us who had never been here before. They were looking forward to trying the Arancini appetizer which gets rave reviews and we know how good they are as we've ordered them in the past. The appetizers were never delivered, the server never checked on how our meals were or if we wanted more drinks. We even had to ask for more water,. We did mention the poor service to the Maitre D and she removed the desserts from our bill, but it was still a disappointment. But the food was not a disappointment!!
The waitstaff are the best! I’ve been coming to Vinnys for years! Never had a bad meal!
Vinny's is always great. The Italian food has a pungent Sicilian slant. The service is great. The atmosphere friendly. A great destination even if you don't live in East Somerville.
Waiter greeted us like long lost family. Bread and Olive Oil were fantastic. Entries served hot and on time . Can’t say enough good things. Keep doing what you’re doing. Get rid of the clown by the bathroom. :)
Alway delicious. Great atmosphere. Menu has lots of variety. Have not found anything we haven’t liked.
Charming place to eat and GREAT food! We love going to Vinny's!
Coming for years; never disappointed! Better than any restaurant in the North End!
The food was really good, but the service was subpar. It's a small place so make reservations.
our waiter was a bit manic. he took plates away too quickly and came back way too often to see if we were finished. we felt pretty hustled, like the waiter couldn't wait to go home.
The food was great but I have no idea what good a reservation does got you. We still waited 45 minutes for a table after our reservation time and while we were waiting they were quoting walk ins 60 minutes but you could make a (useless) reservation for 15 minutes from that time on opentable. So be prepared to wait either way.
I had my birthday dinner at Vinny's with two good friends. My best friend said it was the best homemade pasta and sauce she had ever had and there was not a drop left on her plate! Vinny's is a real treat and love the waitstaff and lively atmosphere!
Food was great as usual! Always consistent never any change in quality of food and service. This is the closest you can get to the great food of southern Italian food in the area.
Food is awesome as always. ive eaten here many times. found it on open table 2 years ago this was the longest time i ever had to wait for the meal. ablut an hour before we were served. other than this, the place is fantastic
Service is always great. The servers (one of them is named Johnny?) are always energetic and bubbly. They even remember us from before. Food is consistent every time I go. Good food, good value as the portions are pretty big, and local restaurant atmosphere that makes it good for a date night or a night out with friends and family. High recommend!
Wonderful in every way...we’ll definitely be back!
Try finding a parking space cause it’s difficult .....You can only park at a street meter slot cause all else means you need to be a Somerville resident or special pass....frustrating
But the food (tasty and good selection), service (very friendly and prompt), and price (fair) was very good....You need to get use to the fact that seating your all on top of each other (but I find this to be true of city located authentic Italian restaurants)......
I will go back and enjoyed the overall experience
There was no host to greet us but a sign that read ‘Please wait to be seated’. We waited for quite a while and all the staff saw us standing there but never acknowledged us. Finally the bar tender & another server walked towards us as the bar tender was complaining it wasn’t her job to be the host. When our server came to greet us there was no hello or name given, just ‘do you know what you want?’ We felt a bit rushed to order and food was good but not as good as I had hoped after seeing Vinny’s on the Food Network & other people recommending it. I think I had higher expectations. I will say, it was very reasonably priced. Don’t know if I would go back.
