This restaurant is hands down the best Italian on the Peninsula. The food is excellently sourced, well made and delicious. So far I've had every dish on their menu and they are all exquisitely made to where I can't wait to come back. Rocco's staff is the best for service, including Valentino who knows his wines. Their bar drinks are creative and yummy. I love the amaro bar and they have a great wine list for Italian varietals. The ambiance is perfect for that romantic date or business meal. The Osso Buco was so good that I ordered two this night. (Because my partner ate half my first.) The beef Carpaccio makes for an excellent end of meal dish, as I don't order deserts, but there's the Chinato of which they have excellent. Please don't tell anybody about this restaurant because it's getting pretty hard to get a table these days and we would like to keep it our own little Stanford piece of signature style and class done the Italian way.

In my mind, the Margarita pizza was not special. The salad, once delicious at dinner, was not as good at lunch. The tiramisu appealed to our friend. I found the gelato heavy...strawberry in what I think was a white chocolate. I'm not sure what to suggest, but the dinner a few nights before was far better.

Vina Enoteca is always welcoming. We usually sit at one of the bar tables for more room and a quieter experience. The fresh breads and olive oil are a great way to start a meal. We love sharing some appetizers and then sharing a meal. The wine selection is wonderful.

I had requested a table in the bar but they had sold out the bar so we sat in the main dining room. Not such a big deal but when we were seated it took a long time before our server appeared. We ordered the pizza which arrived cold and we sent it back. Very little flavor. We probably won’t return, as there are other restaurants that are similar. A mediocre experience.

Food was amazing and the waiter was really nice. We stayed there for 3 hours chatting and the staff didn’t mind. Pretty authentic Roman style food! As always for lunch, I ordered the lumache all’amatriciana and it was delicious and served perfectly al dente.

Supurb Service. Knowledgeable, helpful, yet unobtrusive service. No hassle e.g. splitting dishes. Good food, well prepared in a somewhat barny atmosphere. Very cold evening so some issues re: open/closing door. Otherwise a wInner overall.

Great meal here. Casually elegant. You can order pizza, pasta, osso bucco and the like. They also have the impossible burger which is the best meatless burger! Prices are mid range and a good value for the quality of the food. Full bar. Try their single barrel negroni. Definitely recommended.

We asked the server to modify an item on the menu due to dietary restrictions, to which he acknowledged. The modification was to have risotto cooked with veggies instead of meat. To our surprise, they brought risotto without meat and a side of veggies with the server saying that the chef would not cook the risotto with veggies. Our issue is with the server saying yes to our request in the first place and expecting us to accept the dish as they got it out. The food quality was ok, not worth the price. Pizza base was amazing! This restaurant is definitely far from being rated any Michelin star in our opinion.

Food was nice. Was fairly disappointed with service. One dish wasn't prepared as asked and a drink wasn't brought until waiter reminded and he then blamed on the busy bar. Would have expected higher quality for the service. Despite that, would probably try again given food quality and taste

Food was great but the service was entirely too slow. We arrived at 11:30am (ordered closer to noon) and didn't receive our food until 12:40pm. The server didn't check back with us even when we looked around for someone to help us. We didn't have time for birthday cake.

We have dined here many times before last Saturday. To our surprise, our bill came with a “Living Wage Surcharge” of 3% of the entire bill (including tax). The server thought it was for health insurance but really wasn’t sure. Since there was no explanation, we took the tip down to 10%, which was unfortunate for the server, i’m sure. No other business charges their customers to pay for employee benefits—just raise prices if necessary. We won’t be going back to Vina Enoteca.

The service was excellent. In spite of all of our allergy and other food restrictions, there were plenty of choices of food for all of us. The staff were amazing in their support and very friendly. The beet appetizer (barbabietola) was absolutely delicious. We were provided with the regular bread as well as really delicious gluten free bread. The pesto pizza was also quite delicious. Our disappointment was with the campanelle pasta (beet and carrots pasta) was dreary and dull. Two of us ordered it and both of us agreed that it felt tasteless, no flavor- it felt like it was made for a young child so they would think it was interesting looking but still have the blandness so as not to upset a child’s palate. The spaghetti cacio e pepe and the pappardelle funghi were quite good and the group enjoyed those. I would absolutely return for dessert - the budino was really simple yet absolutely delicious.

Always fun to try a new place. Healthy options and food looked very pretty. I would like to go back and try the pasta or a pizza. The cauliflower soup was a bit bland and the burrata salad had a bit too much balsamic vinegar.

Its a cool space, the bar looked great, I would come again for drinks and appetizers, but the food came out very quickly after we ordered and it seemed like it had been tossed on a plate and re-heated. Might have been an off night. Our server was terrific, and our wine was wonderful.

The setting of the restaurant in the Stanford Barn is very cool. You are able to see into the restaurant as you walk up to the front door from the parking lot. At night, it looks very welcoming. Our server was attentive and we didn't have to wait at all before he welcomed us and took our drink orders. He had good recommendations for drinks from their extensive cocktail menu. Our food, though, was hit and miss. Out of six dishes ordered, three were delicious and three were not worth finishing. We started with the beet salad (we were looking for something to share and didn't want to go with the octopus). The ricotta was creamy and flavorful and the beets were perfectly tender. And it was large enough to share. The house-made bread was a great accompaniment to the salad. Two (out of the four in our party) ordered the Impossible Burger (yes, we know this is an Italian restaurant) but it was on the menu and we thought it was on there for a reason other than as the token vegetarian menu offering. We were also interested in the Impossible Burger in general and thought, why not try it at a nice restaurant? It wasn't great and neither of us finished. The sweet potato chips, though, that came as a side, were good, so neither of us went hungry. One member of our party ordered a pizza, the Pugliese. They were not impressed. The last member of our party ordered the squash filled pasta with walnut pesto, which was by far the best entree. It was rich and the portion size was perfect. And finally, we ordered the Millefoglie for dessert which was not too sweet but sweet enough for an after-dinner treat. Overall, it was fun to try a new place.

Enoteca had me when I spotted Drussian Prosecco (rare and wonderful) on the wine list! We had wonderful attention from the staff - especially Ciara, our server. The suggested pairings were perfect. The meal was remarkable for taking us back to Italy with each mouthful! Ambiance was adversely affected, unfortunately but typically these days, by too bright lights and too loud "background" music. It is apparently intentional - we've read that it results in faster turnover per table, so it is economics. But they don't treat patrons like that in Italy. Or France. Or Switzerland. Or Holland. At least not in our experience. But hurray and high marks for the cooks and the staff and our server, Chiara!!

Overall, because of loud noise and disappointing entrees, I would make only a qualified recommendation...we enjoyed our wine, appetizers and felt the service was good, but thought the entrees were odd tasting as if someone had been experimenting with new recipes without fully testing before they became part of the menu. It's also quite expensive which intensifies the disappointment.
