The name Vin de Set comes from the phonetic spelling of the French number 2017, the address on Chouteau Avenue. Situated on the roof of a national historic landmark just minutes from downtown St. Louis, Vin de Set offers an expansive open-air deck for dining and outdoor bar, indoor dining rooms and a breathtaking indoor bar. The design is inspired by 19th century architecture which features vaulted ceilings, exposed brick and towering arched windows with panoramic views of the arch, Union Station and downtown St. Louis. The marriage of the existing structure, modern finishes, seasonal classic cuisine of southern France which creates a distinctive atmosphere & culinary experience.

    Vin de Set is a favorite of ours and last night was no different! Amazing food and a gorgeous setting. The service was slow due to staffing issues, but the ambiance made up for it. It was nice to linger over the meal and not feel rushed.

    We had a great night on the rooftop at Vin de Set. They have a large outdoor space and everyone dined outside since it was a beautiful evening. Charles was our waiter and was exceptional. The food was excellent ... we had simple but tasty salads, the halibut and the eggplant Napoleon. Everything was cooked to perfection with delicious preparations that you wouldn't bother with at home. I cook a lot at home and when I go out I want great food that is difficult to make (otherwise I'll make it myself!). We shared two desserts ... the creme brûlée and the cheesecake. Fantastic. We will be back.

    Excellent anniversary dinner! Our server gave us champagne and a card signed by some of the staff. The food was wonderful and the patio was really nice.

    Thr staff was great. The food was fantastic. The atmosphere was welcoming. I recommend sitting outside if weather permits. If you're looking for a French food experience this is the place to go. My husband had the rack of lamb and I had the salmon.

    The overall experience was great. Our poor server was very kind, but extremely busy. The rest of the staff were attentive to our food/water/drink levels. The food and atmosphere was amazing. We were next to a REALLY loud table- that is why the noise level rating was so high.

    We started on the roof and finished inside when rain started. It was smoothly handled. Truly an enjoyable and delicious occasion. Very attractive presentation of all the delightful servings Very affordable. We'll be back!

    Excellent service. Drinks and most courses were delicious. Steak special was underwhelming. Coq au vin could have been seasoned better. Onion soup, beet salad, and desserts were fantastic. We will give it another try and do recommend it.

    The overall experience was very good. Great view from the roof top and we lucked out with great weather. The only downer of the night was our server. He took a long time to greet us. Took even longer to deliver our drinks and just didn't feel very attentive all night. Never apologetic for taking time to get to us. Other than that, it was all good. After we finally ordered, the food came out timely and tasted great.

    Unbelievably, on an August night in St Louis, the weather was perfect to eat outdoors! We sat on the rooftop patio and were treated to wonderful service, delicious food, and the glorious view of the lights of St Louis at night. It can't get better than this. A perfect evening!

    When this restaurant originally opened it felt every bit classy, unique and a special dining experience. This was our first visit back in 10 years and it was disappointing. The waiters had dirty aprons, the tables were cheap metal garden tables that would give your arms waffle patterns (yes I know hands off the table) and the greeting by the hostess felt like we inconvenienced. The table bread seemed like it came from a loaf you can get at Dierbergs and the butter was basic even though they tried with some herbs. The crustini bread was harder than bricks and made the goat cheese lose albeit it waste tasty alone. The salmon was delicious but common and could be had anywhere. The Coq au Vin was probably the best fare on the table and while it was packed with flavor, it was presented unappetizing. Roof top restaurants are not common so that alone had the appeal to visit but the views have changed in this area so it lost its appeal. If there was one thing to change the most…wash the aprons. It made me wonder what the kitchen looked like.

    We absolutely love Vin de Set! It is always so beautiful and comfortable on the patio. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. I love the area and the views can't be beat.

    Food was ok but not as good as I expected based on other reviews. That said I’d go back for a second try. The outdoor patio was a real plus and our service was outstanding. Worth trying again for sure. I have hopes for this place.

    Staff was great. Went for brunch. Coffee was cold and old. Food was dried out, salty and overcooked and overpriced. Crème brûlée was good but small. Shortcake was a cookie cut pound cake.
