   The food was marginal. Linguine with clams had to go back - definitely didn’t taste right, let alone good. Spicy rigatoni was good, fried artichokes served with mayonnaise, everything else was ordinary. Our server was excellent and handled the bad dish well. The restaurant is up a steep flight of stairs and although convenient to the Schubert, there are so many restaurants, we’ll go somewhere else next time. Food not worth it.

   Very nice spot and food was excellent. Close to Shubert Theater and parking garage. We’ll be back.

   Beautiful restaurant with excellent food, drink and service. We dined before an event at the Schubert which was across the street. Convenient parking in College St garage.

   We were a party of five seated at a table of four because we were told it was full even with a prior reservation . The entire time the room was half empty. It was restaurant week in New Haven but when I called was assured the regular menu was available. Our waiter checked when we got there and told us that was not correct. Only a small prefix menu was available. Then another waiter came by to take our order. I asked a question about an item being available from the regular menu. He said it was available and went and gave us the regular menu. Then the first waiter came by and yelled at him for coming to our table. We tried to find a manager to help us and no one seemed available. Just a lot of waiters getting involved with the “fighting”. Our meals were ok. The servers gave our appetizers to the table next to us and almost gave our desserts to the same table. What was surprising is how quickly they came to take away our plates. My daughter was still chewing her las bite when they grabbed her plate and tried to take mine while I was still eating. Never experienced service like this at a restaurant. Do not go out during restaurant week.

   As I told all my friends and relatives, the food was exceptional, the service was abominable. We had 1:30 reservations and received our entree at 2:30.

   Villa Lulu is outstanding in this vibrant entertainment and dining district. With its warm and gracious hospitality and excellent menu, it is sure to please even the most discerning guests.Each member of our party shared starters and each enjoyed a unique entree. My branzino was generous in its serving and perfectly executed. The others enjoyed their choices. Service was excellent and unobtrusive. We felt neither rushed or neglected. I certainly recommend Villa Lulu for its overall high quality

    My wife and I have been to Villa Lulu mulltiple times to attend shows at the Shubert. We have never been disappointed. The food, in our view, has always been excellent. My wife had the Chicken Picata and I had the Branzino this last visit on 3/22. Two nice glasses of wine with dinner. Our server, Samatha was attentive and friendly. All the staff we encounted were excellent.
