Looking out over Quadra Park and just a few steps from the inner harbor, Victoria Harbour House in Victoria, British Columbia is a wonderful place to bring family or friends. With a regular dining room, as well as private dining options, it is a fine dining experience not to be missed. Starters on the menu at Victoria Harbour House include plenty of fresh seafood and unique dishes like escargots bourguignon, carpaccio and an array of wonderful soups, bisques and salads. Main courses emphasize seafood, but there are also delectable grilled meats. One of our favorite dining places in town. Always visit when we come to visit. Waiter is fantastic. 78 years old and still is a great pleasure to have.

Fantastic! Everything was perfect! Caesar salad was delicious and made at our table. All staff were exceptional! Will be back for sure.

As this restaurant was close to our hotel Grand Pacific, we wanted a nice meal nearby for our last dinner in Victoria. Our waitstaff, James, was fantastic! We had a nice dinner and both enjoyed our meals. Will definitely go back when in Victoria next.

High end prices without high end food our atmosphere. Pros: Servers were friendly (though the marks of high level services were missing- plates not being placed at the same time, table wasn’t ready at time of reservation, seemed as though maybe they were a server short that) Cons: Food was lacking, especially for the prices. We ordered a range of dishes (mix of appetizers, fish, meat, pasta) and the only way to describe them was “meh”. The meat and fish were well cooked (though nothing ground breaking) but the “side” of veggies and potatoes were extremely lack lustre, it tasted like they used frozen veggies that were over cooked and prepackaged roasted potatoes. The pasta, again nothing in particular was wrong with it but it was definitely just a basic dish without much to it. The item our group said was the only dish worth reordering was the French onion soup. Not celiac friendly as advertised- they “offer” all pastas with GF pasta but the majority of the sauces used are cream based and the cream based sauces are not gluten free. The use of cream based sauces took at least half the menu off the board for the celics in the party. Atmosphere- while part of the restaurant’s story is that it is 45 years old, it looks like it hasn’t been updated in 45 years, this does not give the allusion of purposefully vintage or charming but rather outdated and run down. Additionally, while the the use of white linens and waiters in white suit jackets might have been what made something “haute cuisine” back in the 80s, there was nothing else to add to the experience. The food was not even remotely plated in a way that indicated fine dining but was comparable to what one would see at a self serve wedding buffet. The “view” was not the best view we had in the area (it was most obstructed by harbour buildings). Value- way too over priced. Every person in our party walked away saying it was the worst meal of our trip yet the most expensive. Overall the experience was very lacking.

Last minute decision and so glad we did. This place has been around for 45 years. Great pasta and halibut. Wonderful wine selections. Just off the Harbour.

Professional & knowledgeable staff from the greeter to the waiter who provided recommendations that was appreciated. Classy experience at an affordable price.

Started off great with the lobster bisque but went down from there. Our server was good, been there for over 40 years but he was too busy serving others so our food sat waiting to be served to us. My rare steak sat so long it was a medium and my wife’s prawns were not hot for the same reason. They need to have runners to bring the food out once it’s ready, the servers way too busy entertaining the customers. He didn’t come and ask us how it all was until much later and thought I was joking when I told him how I was not happy paying that much for a steak that was not was way over done and cool prawns. This is supposed to be a fine dining restaurant, nice try

Wonderful restaurant. Great food. Table side Cesar salad, classic escargot and incredible seafood. Terrific waiter (James). We will definitely come back again
