At Viaggio, we’ll awaken all of your senses with a dining adventure. We will intrigue you with the sights, sounds, tastes and textures, reminiscent of the intoxicating elegance and unparalleled vitality of modern Italy. Inspired by the intimate setting of Italy; the romance of an afternoon in Venice; the sweeping vistas along Sicily’s breathtaking coastlines: At the heart of Viaggio is the spirit of Italian excellence and the appeal of the Hawaiian Cuisine.
From the depths of Italy’s southern waters, with its world-famous seafood—to the rich, indulgent risottos by the culinary maestros of the north—Chef Rodney Uyehara has travelled through the multifaceted legacy of Italian cuisine, infusing this inspiration with a flourish of local, Hawaiian flavors, to craft a menu as alluring as the country to which it pays homage.

Everything was great — but a bit noise. Hard to have a conversation even within our table.
We had a delicious meal at Viaggio. The octopus appetizer was very tender. My husband had the cioppino and I had the linguine tutti mare, both were flavorful and had lots of shellfish.
The entertainment that evening was wonderful - a duo playing beautiful Hawaiian music as we know it from the Hapa band.
Unfortunately I felt the service was not up to par with the prices being charged for the meal. Wine bottle self poured, no changing the shellfish shell dishes, no finger bowl or extra napkins, had to ask for new cutlery after the appetizers.
The restaurant has potential for being a wonderful experience but needs to kick up service standards since the prices are about in line with $$$$ restaurants like Hokus.
Pros: free valet parking, handicap accessible, takes reservations, live music, professional service.
Cons: Overpriced for food quality, music too loud.
Dakota was an amazing server. We came to have dinner here before attending an event at the Blaisdell and it was perfect! Can't wait to have an excuse to go again.
Outstanding Italian food and service!
I wanted to like it more than we did. The space was oddly laid out next to a car dealership. The tables were set up close to each other, but wider than was comfortable to talk to your companion. I was closer to the person next to me on the bench. The food was irregular. At first we only received a salad and appetizer menu, so we didn't know what entrees to plan for. The onion soup and our salad were very good. The sauce on my chicken carbonara was very good but the chicken was dry. I think it was held under a warming light too long. My companions fish was a little tough, but again his sauce was tasty. He had to saw at it with his knife. We notice someone else complained and was given another piece. Our panna cotta dessert was very good. Service was good.
It was a Friday night. Four of us wanted to try this new restaurant and we also wanted to talk many stories. When we got there the musician was playing music which is lovely but we kind of expected for a quiet night.
The service was ok. We asked wine menu but our waitress never came back so we ended up asking a different guy.
We ordered one appetizer and threw entries and none of them were hot.
In a hale way of our dinner the live music needed so we finally could have conversations with normal voice. But in 40 minutes, the top light on the table because so bright. And other area was dark. We took the hint it was our time to leave. Just us and one more table in the restaurant.
Overall, we all were not so satisfied with the meal and the night out.
Should have checked if they have live music on Fridays.
We shall go back? Not likely but we are glad we tried.
The food was very good. The only drawback was the putanesca was a little too salty for my taste.
New restaurant with good ambience and location, happy hour is respectable with choices of pupus. Great wine selections. Steaks are ok. Service is excellent
Everytime I go there, the service and food continues to get better. They do an amazing job and keep elevating the experience. A must visit for happy hour for cocktails too!
Everything met and/or exceeded expectations from service to food to dessert. !!!
There is a nice selection of food and drinks and everything we had was delicious. The staff was very friendly, attentive and professional. The general manager stopped by our table to check in on everything and welcome us, which we really appreciated. The ambiance was a little more quiet and conservative than I prefer, but it was still nice and on par with what you'd expect for a fancy restaurant.
Worst waiter I've ever had the pleasure to be served by.
He made at least 8 mistakes and omissions.
Table busser offered to remove a full plate of food seconds
after it was delivered.
So many efforts that at least we had a good laugh.
The restaurant appears to be undergoing growing pains. The wait-staff needs to become more confident and knowledgeable. The kitchen could improve on the freshness of some ingredients. Service was good but not outstanding and more helpers were needed. We found ourselves frequently asking the bussers to summon our server. The food quality was generally very good, but we did report that the lettuce in our Caesar salad had brown edges, indicating it had been cut two days or more prior to our visit. Still, we were celebrating a birthday & management provided a complimentary dessert & gave us a nice bread basket! They were very nice people. We wish them success!
Food was overpriced for what it was.
Not your typical carbonara. Very saucy, unlike traditional.
Food was also not hot as expected.
I wouldn’t say cold, but...
Awesome HH 🥂
Dinner yummy!!! Staff super friendly and accommodating . It’s fresh & new, free valet parking and we will definitely return!!!!!
Amazing food, fantastic service, classy modern vibe
Expectations were high.. linguine seems too dry. Perhaps I’m not used to this type of pasta. My memories of pasta from Europe was very different. You can tell when pasta is freshly made....and that’s what I expected.
Very friendly especially the general manager who came over to greet us personally. Ambliance was amazing til a family with little children came and were seated next to us with videos blasting and parents yelling. Restaurant was perfect we just had a few noisy customers near us. Food heavenly and plentiful. Wait staff always attentive. A little hard to find the front door but with some effort we made it. A little pricy but worth it.
Amazing first time for my girlfriends birthday. Food was delicious and wonderful service and very friendly.
Viaggios is such a perfect addition to Honolulu. Finding all homeade super yummy italian food is not easy. They literally make all the bread and pasta in house. Absolutely epic. Great job guys. My wife and i will be back for sure.
Exceptional dining experience. Great service and food was delicious. Will definitely be back.
It was absolutely fantastic! The food was amazing and worth it. The location of the restaurant was also fun. I’ll definitely recommend this place to all of my friends.
Give them a year and itll be done. Same owners different twist. Smart foodies aren't fooled.
People will try it bc of the location convenience. But people will be disappointed.
Aloha, Thank you for your patronage, and we would like to apologize for your disappointing experience. We appreciate ALL feedback here at Viaggio - would you be able to share a few details as to why your experience was disappointing so that we may better serve future guests? My girl’s night out became a family night out. Changed my reservations from 4 people to six, from 6:00 pm to 6:30 pm.
My family enjoyed the food and drinks. Our waiter, Matt was very personable and informative. He answered all of our questions and was very polite to my family.
The risotto and lemon & basil sorbetto stood out the most. The rest of the meals were delicious according to each person.
The music was a pleasant surprise. A little loud for conversation, but great for an enjoyable evening out with family.
We will definitely tell our friends and family.
Viaggio is a very classy restaurant with pleasing decor. Our waiter, Dakota, was exceptionally attentive.
I would recommend to the kitchen to learn the difference between linguine and fettuccine though. The seafood linguine, (linguine tutti mari), turned out to be (fettuccine tutti mari), which was quite good, but not quite as "white" as the white wine garlic sauce on the menu indicated. I was hoping for more of a white wine-butter-garlic sauce. My wife said the Ricci di Mar (sea urchin), in a sake white sauce was quite good. Her insalata caprese was quite good with a surprising scoop of basil-lemon sorbetto in the middle. The sorbetto was awesome!
Very friendly and nice staff
Very nice location, food and service need improvement........food was not good.
Our waiter, Dakota, was excellent!!! We felt very welcome by assistant manager as well.
Wonderful experience overall
Customer service exceptional
Friendly and welcoming
It's so good for special night !! Thank you for your kindness!!
Valet service was great right off the bat. We were greeted and sat at the bar while we waited for our table. Staff was very presentable and courteous. The place was packed and the main dining area was quite noisy and I don’t think there was music playing either, either way it was a quiet roar with all the conversations going on. We were sat in the semi-private room which was much more intimate and easy to hear. My only criticism was there is a TV on a desk for some reason in there, I couldn’t stop wondering why it was there. The service was quick and precise and we were checked on very frequently which I always like. Caesar salad was not impressive and seemed ordinary, table side prep is always the way to go personally. Wife had the Carbonara with house made fresh pasta.... 👌🏾. I had the Opah which was the fish of the day and that was great. Dessert menu is very small: Tiramisu, Berries, Sorbet. The Tiramisu was good but small.
I would recommend a visit here, ambiance is unique with all the exotic cars outside to check out and the location is good because it’s not quite in town so it’s easy to escape the traffic.
Service was very good. Waitress made good recommendations. Pastas were great. Tiramisu on the other hand was alright. Overall good restaurant.
A strange overall vibe
Out of the way
Food was ok but not what I would expect for the prices. Also staff forgot about my dates desert.
I took my family out to celebrate a birthday, and the food and service was exceptional. They even took the time to come over and surprise my mother with a birthday dessert. She was over the moon from her experience. I would definitely recommend any special occasion at Viaggio.
Tried out this new restaurant I’ve heard about through contacts in the media industry. They’ve been open for about three weeks and manage to work out the service kinks unlike Merriman Honolulu. A little tricky finding the location thou. Food was so-so. Ordered the fried calamari & shrimp that lacked seasoning along with a somewhat bland dipping sauce. Grilled octopus was a little on the rubbery side that came with a very salty tomato sauce. For the main dish the tutti mari was ok. It needed a little bit of heat and could kick up the flavor a tad bit more. The parpadelle pasta that came with my main dish was way undercook and could of use a little more time in the water. Atmosphere of the restaurant was very pleasant and had a very nice and relaxing vibe to it.
Started with some great craft cocktails with friends, as it was a good way to get together before dinner. Ordered a number of appetizers to share, all were fun to taste from. The service was wonderful, and they presented a number of nice recommendations which led to an amazing meal. I had the seafood, and tasted the risotto which was delicious. Fun with friends, I would definitely come back even if it was just for the cocktails and appetizers before a night out. Highly recommend.
Great service and location. If you also love luxury Italian cars this is the place to be.
Ambience is not as high touch as I was guessing. Being in the Velocity building one would expect a little higher standard. Steak was good.
