At Viaggio, we’ll awaken all of your senses with a dining adventure. We will intrigue you with the sights, sounds, tastes and textures, reminiscent of the intoxicating elegance and unparalleled vitality of modern Italy. Inspired by the intimate setting of Italy; the romance of an afternoon in Venice; the sweeping vistas along Sicily’s breathtaking coastlines: At the heart of Viaggio is the spirit of Italian excellence and the appeal of the Hawaiian Cuisine.
From the depths of Italy’s southern waters, with its world-famous seafood—to the rich, indulgent risottos by the culinary maestros of the north—Chef Rodney Uyehara has travelled through the multifaceted legacy of Italian cuisine, infusing this inspiration with a flourish of local, Hawaiian flavors, to craft a menu as alluring as the country to which it pays homage.
It's so good for special night !! Thank you for your kindness!!
Valet service was great right off the bat. We were greeted and sat at the bar while we waited for our table. Staff was very presentable and courteous. The place was packed and the main dining area was quite noisy and I don’t think there was music playing either, either way it was a quiet roar with all the conversations going on. We were sat in the semi-private room which was much more intimate and easy to hear. My only criticism was there is a TV on a desk for some reason in there, I couldn’t stop wondering why it was there. The service was quick and precise and we were checked on very frequently which I always like. Caesar salad was not impressive and seemed ordinary, table side prep is always the way to go personally. Wife had the Carbonara with house made fresh pasta.... 👌🏾. I had the Opah which was the fish of the day and that was great. Dessert menu is very small: Tiramisu, Berries, Sorbet. The Tiramisu was good but small.
I would recommend a visit here, ambiance is unique with all the exotic cars outside to check out and the location is good because it’s not quite in town so it’s easy to escape the traffic.
Service was very good. Waitress made good recommendations. Pastas were great. Tiramisu on the other hand was alright. Overall good restaurant.
A strange overall vibe
Out of the way
Food was ok but not what I would expect for the prices. Also staff forgot about my dates desert.
I took my family out to celebrate a birthday, and the food and service was exceptional. They even took the time to come over and surprise my mother with a birthday dessert. She was over the moon from her experience. I would definitely recommend any special occasion at Viaggio.
Tried out this new restaurant I’ve heard about through contacts in the media industry. They’ve been open for about three weeks and manage to work out the service kinks unlike Merriman Honolulu. A little tricky finding the location thou. Food was so-so. Ordered the fried calamari & shrimp that lacked seasoning along with a somewhat bland dipping sauce. Grilled octopus was a little on the rubbery side that came with a very salty tomato sauce. For the main dish the tutti mari was ok. It needed a little bit of heat and could kick up the flavor a tad bit more. The parpadelle pasta that came with my main dish was way undercook and could of use a little more time in the water. Atmosphere of the restaurant was very pleasant and had a very nice and relaxing vibe to it.
Started with some great craft cocktails with friends, as it was a good way to get together before dinner. Ordered a number of appetizers to share, all were fun to taste from. The service was wonderful, and they presented a number of nice recommendations which led to an amazing meal. I had the seafood, and tasted the risotto which was delicious. Fun with friends, I would definitely come back even if it was just for the cocktails and appetizers before a night out. Highly recommend.
Great service and location. If you also love luxury Italian cars this is the place to be.
Ambience is not as high touch as I was guessing. Being in the Velocity building one would expect a little higher standard. Steak was good.
Really liked the restaurant style but since it's new the staff were friendly but unfortunately not as attentive as it should be. They also weren't prepared enough for some of their food since they did run out. I am willing to try them out again since they're still trying to work out everything before their official grand opening.
Very welcoming and relaxing atmosphere in this Italian restaurant. Pleasant experience for an evening in just opened new restaurant.
Our waiter was precise, professional and very friendly.
We really enjoyed our food. Portions are substantial, easy can be shared. Everything we ordered met our expectations.
We definitely will visit this restorant again.
The food was very tasty, although we had to return the pasta because it was too salty. It tasted good after they remade it. My date ordered a French press coffee, but after about 15 to 20 minutes, we asked the waiter what happened? He replied that they were out of coffee and that someone went to by some. If you don't have coffee, don't make your customers wait 20 minutes before telling them that you're out!!
Hopefully they'll improve with time, since they just opened. My advise is to wait till they get their rhythm and then dine here.
Great looking new venue. Easy to get to and great valet parking. They are still in their soft launch so they are still working out a few rough patches with their kitchen. The chicken piccata has no lemon in it so don’t expect it to be lemony. The veal was extremely tough but the flavor was spot on. The caprese salad was the star of the night.
Hoping they tighten up the loose ends as it would be great to have a good restaurant in this part of town.
Didn't know what to expect going in but we were so glad we went! We had tickets to a comedy show at the Blaisdell Concert Hall so we decided to try this place out. We parked at the arena since we were going to leave from there anyway and walked across the street. We started with a glass of wine and the INSALATA CAPRESE with heirloom tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and baby arugula...the surprise was the lemon basil SORBET in the middle of the dish! It really added a burst of flavor and texture to the already tasty salad. Next, I ordered the Italian Rib Eye Steak that I thought was a HUGE value! The menu said it was a 12 ounce steak but it was clearly bigger and when I pointed this out to the manager, he said it was actually a 14oz steak! I can't remember if it was $34 or $36 but it was a BARGAIN! My date was pleased with her Ricci di Mar pasta dish. This was the "Sea Urchin" pasta that offered delicious subtle balanced flavors. This may just be a regular stop whenever we have tickets to a show at the Blaisdell, because the wine list is amazing too. This is on the 2nd floor and at first was a little tricky to find if you don't use the elevator near the downstairs bar called Italia. Hmm, maybe we check out this place for after the next show after we have dinner upstairs before the next show!
We went on the first night of opening so I expected a few glitches. Most of the wines listed were not available but I suspect that is a distributor problem. Food was outstanding!!!! They cooked the meat PERFECT!! Waiter...he was either new to being a waiter or just nervous...not the sharpest but pleasant and accommodating. Some of the the little things....the bread came out and then what seemed to be a bit too long later the olive oil came out. Seems you would either bring them together or the oil first. I was halfway done with my roll before the oil was brought. Then....after the appetizer there was one roll left - we were given 3. Our plates had been taken away so I had nothing but the table cloth to rest my roll upon...should have bread plates. They did bring a plate when i asked but it should have been there to start with. Finally it was dessert. Tiramasu and Zabaglione. They did not have the Zabaglione - not to minimalize it but it's custard....why wasn't it available? I got the Jetsetter instead which was vanilla gelato with vodka and tequilla over it. It was brought with chocolate gelato. When we mentioned it the waiter said that he got it from the bar and I think he mumbled that they didn't know. He fixed it. Again - awesome restaurant and I will definitely go again. Just first night glitches. If they happen a month from now then that might be a different story.
