It’s a nice restaurant with great ambiance and apparently the building has a very interesting history. The only thing is that the mix of music doesn’t really fit the place. The food is excellent. Lots of parking is available. I’d definitely visit again.
Loved atmosphere and decor ,drinks were outstanding .would have liked more entree types ,home made pasta was not tender enough but flavorful ,
Wonderful spot. I love the diversity of the cliente it certainly seems that it's the place to be. Service was great everyone was thoughtful and friendly.
Beautifully restored neighborhood church. Tables and chairs were clearly carefully chosen and comfortable. We were 10 mins late but I called ahead to keep our hostess happy. We booked for outdoors, but it was already 90 F outside so we requested inside seating. Despite being busy, they accommodated us. Mira was our server who was helpful but not intrusive. She checked on us when we needed. We were fortunate to meet the owners Alec and Eddy who were very warm, welcoming and pleasant to talk to. Eddy was roped into taking our anniversary picture but he did it without flinching. The Breakfast Tartine and the Fritada were both delicious and fulfilling. The Hemingway daiquiri was perfectly presented and refreshing. A wonderful way to top off our anniversary weekend in the Big Easy. Thank you!
Great food, good service, beautiful atmosphere. Some folks might find it a little pricey, but overall it’s a lovely place for brunch!
The only complaint would be that the outside fans do not circulate air and the fans were not working. So I recommend sitting inside. However, food was awesome! Great place overall!
I book a reservation for my friends' birthdays on a Saturday night for 8pm. We were seating around 8:40PM and they did give us complimentary appetizers for the wait. Took quite awhile to get our drinks after we ordered. They didn't seem that busy but our waiter was pretty frazzled, he forgot to give us silverware and when we asked for it he tossed down 2 napkins, 10 knives, and just a couple forks (we were a party of 8). Even though service was less than ideal the food made up for it!
So great! Lovely staff, beautiful space, delicious food. A+
The place is a nice place for drinks. I would not recommend the food. I did not like it. The service was great! The service staff is wonderful!
We had reservations and were seated right away. Beautiful building, ambiance. We chose to sit outside and it was wonderful. Friendly and efficient staff. Good food & drink menu. Unfortunately, we ordered appetizers (delicious) and ate all our food that we were unable to get dessert.
First off, the restaurant is beautiful. The architecture and remodeling of the church is first class. We dined indoors and the ambiance is somehow low key and energetic at the same time. Cocktails were good and we got the impression that this is a place for the younger crowd to come drink. Food was pretty bland.
We’ve been previously, but first time since the pandemic! Food was delicious, and though they were out of a whiskey I ordered, the bar manager personally came over and suggested a fantastic replacement. Absolutely great service; we’re looking forward to a return in the near future.
Well we went at 7pm, I was with one friend. The host told us that they were at full capacity and all reservations were booked, however we could sit at the tiny array next too the bar. I went in to say can we just catch a bar seat when someone leaves, she said sure. Then a light bulb rang in my friend’s mind, so we checked open table, there were openings until close. The hostess said it was a fluke. However as we continued our mediocre, poor service (there was one bartender working to make it right) dining experience that restaurant got so empty, and I promised myself I would never go again. I think it’s important to say I still tipped 20% cause I ain’t built like that but they can do better, just not for me. Blessings 🙏🏿
We are sorry about your experience. We as other restaurants are struggling to find qualified workers but unfortunately it is very difficult due to enhanced unemployment given by the government. People would rather stay home than work. We are trying our best each day and hope the public will understand sometimes things can go wrong. I personally have been to many restaurants recently and had similar experiences. Alec Wilder Owner
Great service, drinks, and ambience. The food leaves something to be desired for the price point.
I got the grilled shrimp & Mexican streetcorn as an app. Delicious, but a little removed from the Med. Got the Mediterranean burger, a mix of lamb '& beef, nice juicy burger with goat cheese. Very nice meal.
Peter, thanks so much for joining us we are glad you enjoyed it all! Michael Joffrion General Manager
Great experience, and service! Chicken and shrimp and grits were awesome 👌
Thanks for visiting us, we hope to see you again soon! Michael Joffrion General Manager
Went for lunch. They were renovating the doors so had to walk through their active construction zone to get in and then was sat next to where work was being done and we were the only people in the place. We ate lunch to the sounds of power saws. Not the most enjoyable sounds.
Food was okay, the crawfish croquettes didn’t taste good at all, felt frozen.
The steak wasn’t seasoned properly and the potatoes taste like frozen breakfast potatoes.
There were many flies over our food .
Dessert was great.
We are sorry you did no like your food. Everything is made from scratch, never frozen with the finest ingredients locally sourced. If the manager had been made aware of this, she would have fixed the issues, We are sorry there was a fly but sometimes they come in when the exterior door is opened. Alec Wilder Owner
The staff was excellent and the atmosphere complimented the experience! However, the short ribs were grisly so we sent it back. Then once again, it was grisly. My scallops were mediocre. Be that as it may, it was ok because the staff was that good that the experience was ok.
Thank you for acknowledging the quality of our staff, but I'm sorry the food didn't match. Michael Joffrion General Manager
Great place for brunch. The outside area is covered, so we stayed dry even as thunderstorms rolled through. Food was excellent.
Glad you enjoyed your experience with us despite the stormy skies! Hope to see you again soon. Michael Joffrion General Manager
Novel setting. Recommended by friends.

This place was incredible. The food was stellar an the cocktails were fantastic. It's beautiful and feels great on the inside. The service was perfect. Love it!
Matthew, thank you so much for your kind words we are thrilled you had such a great time!
The service was acceptable, the food was bland and over cooked, extremely overpriced for what was served.

Loved the atmosphere and the beautiful light coming through cathedral windows. Nice bar vibe and great food. Waitress was friendly and attentive.

The service and food was great!
Fantastic experience as always. The food was A plus and the drinks spot on. I know how difficult it has been for restaurants and want to thank everyone at Vessel for making our evening so enjoyable. We cannot wait to come back!
Thank you so much for noticing the hard work this staff has put in lately, it is DEFINITELY appreciated. We are all thrilled you had such a wonderful time and hope to see you again soon. Thank you for joining us! Michael Joffrion General Manager
Great food, great cocktails, great service, amazing atmosphere. Cannot compliment the pork belly appetizer enough. Streetcar stop- going toward bourbon- right up the street. Such a good experience.
You summed up everything we strive for in your first sentence alone! We really appreciate your great review and hope to see you again soon. Thank you for joining us! Michael Joffrion General Manager
I’ve eaten here before and had much better food but this time everything was off. Fish dip was runny, cauliflower and carrots were undercooked, shrimp was too salty and corn was swimming in sauce. It’s a lovely space but the food was not good.
Hi Amanda, I'm very sorry for the issues with your food. I assure you if I were on shift I would have corrected these before they hit your table. We have just recently staff up fully and I am working out the kinks with all my new cooks. I assure you we will be just as fantastic as you remember the next time you visit us. Thanks for your feed back. Cheers, Chef Amandalynn
Great atmosphere! Enjoyed the staff as well as the food and drinks. Definitely my new favorite spot.
We had the place to ourselves from 11:15 to almost 1; it was great! The food was delicious and the service, as expected, was top notch.
Thank you for joining us! Come see us for happy hour or dinner on your next night out for a change of pace with the atmosphere... Your words are very much appreciated. Michael Joffrion General Manager
Amazing food! The harvest salad was great, as was the pork belly appetizer. The ambiance is insanely beautiful, and I’d say this is a wonderful choice for a date night!
I would agree with each point in your review (despite my slight bias), and we are all thrilled you had such a great time! Thank you for joining us! Michael Joffrion General Manager
Food and service were both great. We sat outside. They were out of some entrees because it was a busy holiday weekend. We really enjoyed everything that we ordered.
Thank you for understanding the supply issues, Craig. We anticipated a busy weekend and ordered accordingly, but STILL ran out of a lot of our favorites. We are glad you enjoyed everything and hope to see you again soon. Thank you for joining us! Michael Joffrion General Manager
One of my new favorites in New Orleans!!!! The short rib was to die for!!
Looking forward to seeing you again on your next visit to town! Thank you for joining us. Michael Joffrion General Manager
I was very excited to come here from out of town. We made reservations, got sat down right away. The inside was pretty empty. It took over an hour to get our main courses, though 3 of the 4 of us ordered the same dish. Scallops that were gritty and risotto that was made in advance. Server came by once or twice, we were afraid to order dessert and I had to seek out the Manager for our bill. The place is beautiful but the service was terrible.
Hi, I am sorry you didn't enjoy your meal with us on Sunday night. I'd have been happy to correct issues had a manager been alerted. I assure you we make our risotto to order every time, but people do make mistakes. We've been particularly busy lately and we've worked hard to hire on and train staff accordingly. It is widely publicized that staffing is an industry wide problem now. Please be patient with your hospitality humans as we navigate our industry post pandemic. -Chef Amandalynn
Loved it!!! Wonderful food!!
Thank you! - Chef Amandalynn
I normally come to Vessel for business luncheons and never had an issue, but brunch is a disappointing experience. I understand restaurants are short-staffed but we waited over an hour to receive food and never did meet our waiter. When she finally came near the end she literally told us she never came to our table because she didn’t have time. 🤷🏻♀️ The food was okay...I always find, though, when it’s overcrowded the food/drinks lacks/rushed and doesn’t live up to its potential.
Amazing brunch !!
Our waiter was fantastic, food was very tasteful, well presented and within a timely manner. Definitely recommend their merlot choice as a red wine option. Outdoor ambience was my favorite part. Very quiet and private. Would definitely go again if I lived closer!!
The service was very slow. Food was good. They need to do something about all the bugs. It distracts from the ambience.
Portions were very small for the price. Food was ok. Service was excellent!
