Vespaio Restaurant is one of the original South Congress eateries and remains one of Austin's favorite Italian go-to's among locals and visitors. This casual dinner venue is a popular choice for date nights or evenings out with friends, seating every day at 5pm. The interior of Vespaio Restaurant is decorated with ceiling tiles, ceiling plans, vintage pendant lighting, classic table seating, a plethora of wine racks and vibrant accent walls.In addition to a full bar menu, Vespaio Restaurant offers a lengthy selection of mouth-watering and flavorful authentic Italian dishes. Menu items include carpaccio, mixed seafood stew, lasagna, mussels, calamari, spaghetti carbonara, chocolate hazelnut cake, panna cotta and green pasta with shrimp. Everything on the menu is sourced locally and prepared in-house, including the pasta, bread and pastries.

    We enjoyed the ambiance, service, and proximity to downtown, parking, and food; we tried all the specials including: Fried green tomatoes, a melon salad with fried mozzarella, and Gouda spinach ravioli, paired with a Vespa, the house specialty drink. The bread, with a bean puree before the meal was good too. We will be back. The only complaint I would have is the price on the wine menu, which we did not have.

    Excellent specials and a new fruit salad that was very good. Service was first class. It is the Austin that is disappearing fast.

    Our first time at this great place , Luke was very attentive and helpful with service and helpful with the menu. My wife and I celebrated our anniversary night . The staff placed a happy anniversary card on the table for us and gave very tasteful wine. We enjoyed our night. Thank you!

    Everything from the host, to the bartenders and our waitress was top service. Everyone was very attentive and helpful, I will definitely be back

    The house_made pasta and bread were delicious as was the fresh watermelon and arugula salad. The robust olive oil was excellent, worthy of an Italian restaurant. The wine selection, including a number of Italian wines by the class, was also good. The service was friendly, professional, and attentive without being intrusive. The atmosphere was pleasant. We dined early (around 5:30 pm) in a smaller room, so the noise level was relatively low for conversation. I believe it gets noisier later in the evening. I’ve eaten here before and plan to dine here again.

    The service and kindness of the staff was amazing. They catered to our needs and were very understanding. The pasta is fresh but the sauces are with a lot of tastes that have a sour / salty feature to them. The Buratta was with pesto inside (didn’t say so on the menu).

    New favorite Italian restaurant in Austin! My girlfriend and I love Italian food and have been checking out some of the popular spots in Austin. This is hands-down the best so far!
