Our first time here. We were very impressed...really cool looking decor, comfortable and not overcrowded with too many tables. The menu was interesting and sophisticated. The mussels and grilled oysters were delicious. Grouper BLT and hand cut fries were great too,as was the shrimp, grits and scallops. The service was exceptional...friendly, prompt and knowledgeable. The best dining experience we’ve had in a long time!!!
Had the open faced red fish and Brussel sprouts on our waiter’s recommendation. Both were delicious. Service was great! We’ll be back!
One of the best meals we have had in quite some time. Everything was excellent.
The craft cocktails are outstanding (love the ball ice cubes!)
Our service was great and the food was delicious.
The restaurant is on the noisy side when busy but the ambiance is good - particularly if you are sitting by an open window. I feel like the place has two personalities and I prefer being seated on the left as you enter. The right side seems a little dark and not as lively.
Might be nice to add a pasta/seafood selection and price it on the reasonable side.
Two thumbs up! Will go back! Very tasty and creative dishes, good service and great ambience
We had another great meal at Veronica's. This time I had the crispy oyster Romaine salad as an app and then had a half order of the redfish. It was excellent. My husband started with oysters on the half shell and then had the crab Fazzoletti. All was delicious. Our server Janie, was truly delightful. She didn't rush us and service was spot on. We look forward to dining here again next March when we return to Siesta Key. Tracy the manager also checked in with us and she too, was wonderful .
the food was very good, but the noise was overwhelming. the restaurant is for a young crowd.
Fantastic fresh food. Exceptional wait staff. Cuisine never disappoints
Great fish and creative veggies too! Will be back!
Enjoyed the cocktails and appetizers in the bar area with very cordial service from Mr. Yoder. Found the dinner menu to be limited.
Every table was full but the staff was very attentive and the food was outstanding and timely
Delicious food amazing service
This is our second trip this year for our 2 week vacation!!
This was our first visit. We were very happy we decided to try Veronica's and will definitely return. A fantastic addition to the Sarasota restaurant scene!
First of all we had heard great things about Veronica's and were not disappointed. Patrick our waiter was attentive without being overbearing. The meal and service were what one would expect from a fine dining experience. The crusted snapper with corn and collard greens were a wonderful surprise. Being a true southern boy the combination of flavors took me back home. My only regret was that we didn't take Patrick recommendation from the wine list. This is now my favorite Sarasota restaurant.
We enjoyed the happy hour and they were so filling we could not order a dinner. The cocktail was not what the ingredients listed. We did not want citrus but there was pulp from an orange or maybe a grapefruit and it tasted like an orange drink. Domenic out waiter was knowledgeable. We were early but when dinners started to come it was noisy. We prefer places with table cloths and less noise. We heard Veronica’s was good so we wanted to try it. Will probably go back for apps again
We really enjoyed the ambiance and fresh fish menu options. I recommend the Vero Island Salmon that was the special of the evening.
One of our favorite restaurant visits !
All of our main courses were delicious. However, all accompanying dishes seem to have corn or bean, or vegetables that can be difficult to digest for at least 2 of the 4 of us. When we asked if we could replace the grits by rice or something else like rice maybe, it was discouraged. Many people love shrimp and scallop but not grits. All fish plates seemed to be served with not so easy to digest veggies... It would be good to have an option for something a little more bland for those of us. We loved the mixed vegetable dish but again it had corn. This was our first time at Veronica's so maybe we didn't notice side dishes we could order instead. We would return and try again as we loved the ambiance and the service. My fish was delicious.
We came for happy hour drinks and food. Great small plates between 5pm-6pm
The food and service were above average, but during my last visit (we had a 7:15 reservation on a Thursday) they were out of the first two items I tried to order. I won’t be back because of the very high noise level. I find it very annoying and the music volume is a major cause of the issue. Too many other options in the Sarasota market to not get what I want to eat and have to shout at my dinner partners over Huey Lewis!
We had a wonderful meal tonight, and they were more than accomodating to my dietary restrictions. Will definitely come back again. Gave, our waiter was attentive and very helpful.
To celibate our friend's visit from Ohio we had a great dinner at Veronica's. The food was very good and the staff was attentive and helpful. The entrees were delicious so we had to indulge in shard desert that were also delicious.
This was an amazing experience. The food was excellent and the service was wonderful. Brad, our server was knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. I can't wait to go back and try something else on the varied and mouth watering menu.
Wonderful staff and a great dining experience. Food was excellent!
terrific meal, terrific server (megalicious)
cold delicious oysters, bread is fantastic, and entre's were delightful
We were celebrating our anniversary with friends and we all loved Veronica's. The oysters were scrumptious, and we all loved our food, the art work, the long bar, the lighting, and the ambiance. And we were so happy that the sound level was moderate - we don't like noisy restaurants. We'll be back soon with other friends.
We loved Veronica's so much we went back two nights in a row. The fish selection was excellent and well prepared. Loved the atmosphere and service. Very creative cuisine. Good crab and corn hush puppies to start, wonderful and light fish and chips, terrific scallops. Everything was so good it is hard to choose only one or two items. Nice neighborhood, too. Definitely recommend if you are looking for good food and service, nice ambiance and creative and delicious preparation.
Excellent waiter named Gage. Oysters were great
Great for fresh seafood. Extremely good service. A nerghborhood gem.
Food was good, music very loud hard to have a conversation. We were celebrating someone’s birthday, but couldn’t talk. Said something to the hostess, she responded it’s a noisy restaurant that is just the way it was designed! Very pleasant waitress. Not sure I would go back due to noise.
Great food and service. However, the piped in music was so loud, it was annoying and hard to communicate.
Fabulous! We had friends in town and they were able to add 2 extra people at the last minute.
Veronica’s Fish & Oyster is a good restaurant in Sarasota. We had the smoked fish appetizer which had raw onion in it which ruined the delicate flavor. Fried Oyster salad was nice but Oysters were covered in a thick coating of cornmeal which made them very heavy. And unappealing. The main of red fish, supposedly a cornerstone of the restaurant was very good but overpriced and covered with a strange array of greens. I believe there was supposed to be blue crab on it as well but we couldn’t find a taste of it. Service was exceptional .
It was our first time at Veronica's and I didn't realize Sunday's menu would be limited to Brunch. The food was very good, but for the price, I thought the portions were awfully small. For example, I had what our server referred to as a "traditional breakfast" with scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, porchetta and toast for $13. I was not familiar with porchetta, which appeared to be thin slices of bacon fat in a circle on the plate. It was, in my opinion, not edible. The bacon that came with the meal was about 1/3 of a usual slice. Either the eggs they used were extremely small, or they only served one. Next time, I'll order over easy to see if there are actually two! The potatoes were delicious. My companion had the Redfish, with dressed greens & herbs. It was mostly cilantro with a bit of mint. I didn't see any of the usual mixed greens or arugula. Again, it was a very small meal for the price. Both of us opted for fresh fruit to supplement the skimpy meal, and it was the best thing about the meal with blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, pineapple and cantaloupe. We will try Veronica's again for dinner, as we've heard good things.
Nice Brunch and get service... Delicious Avocado toast!
This was our second visit since we were pleased the first time. The food was excellent and the service was outstanding. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Great service from Matt. Redfish and the branzino were both commendable. Brussel sprouts were a little too sweet for me. Barrel cocktails were delicious, especially the Empress of India. Hot spot!
Potato Rolls were amazing. Great wine. Great ambiance. And service was excellent. Red snapper dish was like an awesome party in my mouth. Will definitely recommend and will return.
Nice brunch--grouper sandwich is delicious as are Veronica's fries! Very low-key for Sunday about 1pm. Service and food very good! Definitely recommend Veronica's!
The food was exquisite. Found our new favorite restaurant in Sarasota.
We had high hopes for this restaurant but sadly it did not meet our expectations.
The restaurant is very nice. It has a cool, fun vibe.
The food was good, but not for the price. We ordered the schezuan shrimp which was an excellent appetizer. We wanted bread and had to pay $3. It too was delicious, but should be complimentary considering the cost of everything else.
My shrimp and grits were very good and cooked perfect...but $32 for 5 shrimp and a small scoop of polenta is not cool.
My husband ordered a crab dish with pasta that was light on crab, also over $30.
We are foodies and certainly don't mind paying for good food, but we don't feel like this was worth it.
